Black Ice Profession Question

So I finished upgrading via IWD campaign (lol 2 or 3 I don't remember) to upgrade again it's 10 Unified Elements!! That's blood money! Is it really something I need right now? Or is upgrading the Elven gear not possible till mid strong hold?

You can upgrade it today. Just as you said, you have to spend 15 Unified Elements and 75,000K BI.
That costs a lot. Even if you make them yourself through Alchemy. But you should see if this would be the best application of your money - check you other gear items as well as you companion to see if you can get better bang for a buck elsewhere. (E.g. I'm personally going first for the personalized rings and clothes with slots).

You can upgrade your equipment now and yes you'll 10 of those suckers. I seemed to get most of mine by doing the quests in either Drowned Shores, Fiery Pit or Spinward Rise. Plus you'll need all the Black Ice too.

I suppose it depends on your class but as a GWF I'm not sure if I'll bother with the Elven Ward gear as the Strongholds update will bring the Dragonflight armour which is better for my class and requires similar upgrading to the Elven Ward equipment (using Black Ice Shaping) to make it Elemental.

Is there info somewhere on the stat improvements black ice shaping gives to armor..?

* I checked the neverwinter wiki under black ice profession and whilst it lists the armor, the links go to pages that haven't been created - lol. Maybe the guy changing the forum layout here should spend a couple of weeks over there instead - it'd be a more constructive use of time
