Event unobtainable (while working properly)

My question is this: if each mask is 200 tokens and you need 6 or 8 mask to get the Scarecrow how could you ever complete this in 6 days.

I know some ppl have said you can buy the tokens but you would still have to trade them in 1 at a time right? Or am I missing something? I don't want to trade 1200 or 1600 times. I'd blow my Drow brains out all over the Fell Pass!

Ty for you time in answering this if you chose to do so.

I don't know for 100% certain, but I believe they said something about needing to increase the droprate of the charms? I don't really know. The event isn't up yet on PC, and I can't really remember how it all works to be able to completely answer your question, but I can see if maybe @strumslinger can look into it further.

You need to buy 6 masks to trade them for the Scarecrow (top prize).
Each mask costs 200 tokens. Each token needs to be individually acquired from the illusionist.
You can also get 15 tokens a day from completing the quests, though that's slower than trading.
From my experience it takes 2-3 hours to collect enough tokens for 1 mask.
You can also buy 100 tokens for 125 Zen or equivalently buy masks at ~40K AD from AH.
If you are planning to participate make sure to go to the least populated PE instance.
Wiki article for this event also has a link to a map of all the pumpkins and illusionists.

I was running around last night, and would estimate it'd take me about three-four hours to collect enough charms, and to turn those charms into tokens to buy a single mask. So I suppose it could be done... But I don't personally have that much time to commit each day. If I had two weeks, I could probably do it.

I understand why they would try to draw the event out like that, but it actually has had the opposite effect on me. I was excited about participating before, but when I realized I didn't have a chance, I'm less inclined to even try. For me it would have been more effective making it a random drop. A one in 500 chance; might have played for hours just hoping the next kill would be the one.

It's kind of fun to see all the meanies in on place without having to fight them.
There is also a little bit of multiplayer competition to get to the pumpkins faster as they are oftentimes placed in hard to reach or out-of-the-way places. To unlock the collection items you can just buy and sell these masks from AH as well.

Honestly i find the event tedius. I mean the artist who made the graphics did an awesome job and the concept of the masquerade is great, but i feel like i am not playing, i feel like i am just boosting something or even worse... WORKING yeurk !!! I play video games to have fun, no feel like im at work.

The problem is even if you actually play to get the charms(much slower), you still have to run those illusionist and trade them one by one, its extremely mind numbling and boring.

Since yesterday(when it stoped bugging) i ran it a lot, got around 350 token on this char, around 50 on my secondary (did some dailies and all) but man... i feel if i want the scarecrow ill have to buy tokens pack. Its 100 for 125 Zen? It does not say on the purchase detail....

Also i was wondering, when you get the mask, you turn them for the scarecrow and there consumed or you still have them and can resale them? (or keep em)

When Tymora was up, i played, and played, to a point i was like "damn i need a break of this game" but the difference is i was PLAYING, to get the bags you would slay creatures and do quest, and then opening them was super quick. The Waukeen thing was similar, but turning them was 1 for 30... lol super quick.

Now this whole turn 1 by 1 thing... who the hell designed this? I mean i ge that MMO are supose to be for no lifes, but man I AM A NO LIFE right now, im out of work at home and still this feel way too long and overdone.

But yeah i know once again the $$$ prevail... they don't want us to boost this, they want us to buy those packs with ZEN/real money... thats all...

It's easy to get her th things you need. You can get a mask in about a little over an hour. It's just a boring HAMSTER hour...... But very doable to get anything you want from this event provided you can keep from falling asleep.

Yeah but dude you are asking people to grind for 6 hours right? (prevented its 1 Hour = 1 mask, wich i am not sure) so that make it what? 6 hours if not mistaken for the scarecrow. Add 3 more hours for the skeleton, and then add even more if you actually want to keep the mask(cause from what i understand you turn them for the scarecrow) so basically thats minimum 9 hours of snooze fest grinding in a matter of 5 days... wow

If you don't think it's worth it... don't do it? I haven't. I did enough to get the one mask I wanted, which I knocked out in about an hour once they'd fixed the event.

You can buy everything from the event from the AD tradehouse if you actually want them.

I don't roll on diamonds, remember they actually stabbed us in the back and cut one of our main incoming way by removing AD from leadership? So yeah... spending AD on this is not the best idea for me. Even Zen pricing. 125 Zen for 100 token, yes better than anything if you come out short at the end, but still its spending real money or again loosing diamond trough convertion...

The problem is i don't like the game making me work that hard for stuff i should be able to get easier... Yes they do look good, yes i would like them, and with more time, like 1 month, i could probably get trough this by doing 20-30 a days... i supported the horrible grind fest that was Seriously 3.0 for GOW3(took a damn year) BUT i have only 5 days...

So far i have around 600 and there is only 3 days remaining... and i got 100 by a purchase, had a coupon so i droped 100 zen on it... wich made me feel sad tough. At this rythme ill never be able to get both of them...

No matter if you work with somebody, the result will be the same...

I don't care about the mask "rewards" for my characters. I mean when it says that you got it and such.... No. The only goal i have is to get the 2 companions, and maybe i would like 1 or 2 mask to use, but i doubt ill get to that. So in the end no matter if somebody help me or not, if he give me one mask, it mean 1 less for him so nobody will do that. I need a total of 1 800 tokens to get both companions.

So far i am aproaching 900 on my main, and 170 on secondary. So yes the Scarecrow is mostly secured... well nearly, but man i am bored to death of this snoozefest... so badly. I mean i run the enclave a few time and then i get itchy and i feel weird. For exemple i can not work a repetitive job in life, like montage chain or something, cause it get under my skin, i feel the same with this event... i need variety.

There is only 2 days left and it will good if i manage to complete the scarecrow run, but i feel ill have to use precious zens to get the skeleton... Its not like we have other chances to get it, once halloween is done, its done.

And yes i do play other games with my friends, i have some other stuff planned tonight for Halloween and so on...

The time frame is too short to what they ask in my opinion. IF ONLY WE COULD PLAY. last event i didn't mind playing a ton of it cause it was double xp on top of that, i did so much quest and all it was fun even tough i played maybe a bit too much of the game to my taste. This time, i can't even enjoy the 2x enchantements cause im busy runnin the enclave and not getting XP... items, or doing dailies... and it suck.
