Hey everyone, so I have a question for the devs. I just got off preview, after getting a group together to test Epic Demogorgon...only to realize that the fight has been either taken down or our group had previous requirements that were unmet. Needless to say, there was no testing that got done. Which brings me to my question. Devs, why do you make us grind to QA test your own game for you? I'm really curious.

When the new mod comes out, we have to grind it out and progress it in. This is fine, that is playing the game. But when you have a preview shard that in no way affects the live shard (other than AH prices fluctuating based on new gear that's introduced), why are we made to grind on that? So in order to tell you about bugs you may have missed and give you feedback about the big ticket fights, we have to do double the grind. All that work on preview just to give you our test data and impressions that help you make a better game...plus all the work to actually PLAY the game on live.

Any dev magic is granted to the players in an extremely reluctant manner. Like when you made the Golden Dragon artifacts available for purchase on preview (which was great, cut through the grind)...but left us to refine them up on our own to test their capabilities and bugs at high ranks. Or when you instituted the stronghold reward debug...but left us to farm influence.

Why not give the players the keys to the kingdom on preview? If we could have the whole campaign unlocked from the start, we could save all of us time and give you invaluable feedback that your QA team may not. Why do we have to grind our artifacts out only to find out that, too late, a power or power interaction is bugged? Why are we made to do the same grind we'll do when the mod goes live just to give you feedback?

Devs, if you allowed us to focus on the big ticket items in the coming mod, you could have more time to work out the easy, small kinks in the campaign progression PLUS waaaayy more feedback and test data from your boss fights. If you let us have our artifact weapons rather than zealously guarding them for some reason on preview, we could tell you how they performed in relation to your new content and if they need adjustment and such.

If these QoL changes were made for testers, it would benefit both you and the players. You don't have to come down from Mount Dev and autolevel everyone to 70 and gift them their gear individually (as was tried pre-mod 6 and took hours). Just throw some debug vendors at us and a UI option tied to the auto 70 dev command.

Please, tell me why players are more or less the same on ptr and live. Why are we not actually given testing tools that would allow us to fast track our feedback for you? I sincerely hope Andy or someone gets this to you guys. Empower your players and get better results. Spend a little time giving us these tools and then simply update them for future mods, saving you a bunch of work over the course of the game and the testers a lot of time.​​
