As someone who enjoys levelling up alts to play across different classes and styles, I think there are some updates really needed. While most of it was fine when the game launched, some things now are so outdated they spoil it a bit. I don't mean totally reworking the zones, just some changes to bring levelling more into line with the current state of the game.
A couple of my ideas,
- Rank 1-3 enchantments
Since you can buy rank 4 enchantments normally for 10-20AD each, there's absolutely no point in upgrading these (due to the much higher cost of marks). Maybe remove the requirement for any marks to refine them to rank 4.
- Level 20-69 crafting
All of the items should have an enchantment slot. Almost anything that drops from trash mobs has one, and it's stupid that crafted gear is usually worse than even the stuff everybody passes on in PVE. It's no fun to spend hours crafting up tiers to get something that is worse than an item you can buy for next to nothing from AH. At the very least, all items that require a previously crafted item to upgrade should have a slot and better stats than random PVE drops.
- Enchantment level requirements
Place some level requirements on enchantments. The main problem here is with PVP - you can find players at level 10 with rank 12 enchantments (seriously). This can obviously completely ruin PVP from 10-69. At the very least I would restrict rank 7+ enchantments to level 60+ characters.
- Open zone ranked contests
Receiving rank 1-3 enchantments as a reward doesn't really work now. A few updates might make people want to take part.
- Tutorial
If you've completed the tutorial before then give the option to skip it and go straight to PE. Having to do the tutorial doesn't deter bots as they can easily do that. Placing new characters right near Sgt Knox was a nice change, as was adding mount access.
