Is this a good suggestion?

Currently, the only way to get Crafting Asset upgrades (Weaponsmith, Guards, Armorsmith, Jeweller, Armor, Gauntlett, etc)is to purchase them in the AH, or use a key to get them from a lockbox. The ones you get through playing in game, max out at something below the least of the Lockbox assets. It would be nice if you could purchase an upgrade to Green for these through either the Wondrous Bazaar or the Zen Market. Considering it currently takes a minimum of 360 hours, to get from your first Craftsman to the top White version, it is a lot of time and effort to something that does not help you advance in the craft at all. With regards Worn assets, there is no means to improve them at all, and this could be added in the same manner.

    No - It's a waste of time.

The non-white professionals are a money maker for the Zen Shop and they will not give up their Cash Cow.

Keep making the whites from level 1 to 2 to 3 and maybe (once in 10,000 times maybe) you will rank up 4 level 2s and get a green.

People have asked for this change since the May, 2012 Beta.

My proposal allows for the existing White sto be paid for upgrades with real money. That is why I said "or" between Bazaar and Zen market.

As it stands, now they are mostly gotten through keys. At between 75 (With 40% off Coupon) and 125 zen each, and you are not ensured to get one every time, and definitely not the one you want. So charging 50 zen to upgrade one you have already spent 360 hours making, would be just another revenue stream.

this is not true at all. you get a free profession pack from neverdeath. it doesnt take all that long to grind up a char to get it. much less than your 360 hours.

"The ones you get through playing in game, max out at something below the least of the Lockbox assets." actually they max out at the same rank. you just dont get the speed boost.

but i have no problems with them adding a profession asset upgrade thingi on the bazaar. the problem i see is it will probably cost more than the asset on the ah. just like everything else the bazaar sells. like the 1.4 million for the horse upgrade....

One Free Profession Pack, and better hope it contains a Craftsman of one of your three crafts.

Even if you get lucky, that still leaves the other to crafts, and all 9 slots..... At 360 hours each.......

My hope is the upgrade cost wouldn't be that much, given the amount of time required to get one up to the level in the first place. Like I stated above, a hundred or so Zen, which is what now on the current AH market?

I guess I would target 5K AD as the conversion price (Current Men-At-Arms are going for about 7-9K).

I dont see a point. White ones can do everything the green/blue/purple can, they just don't get the speed boost. I get that its a bit unfair but thats how f2p games entice players to purchase things, and the rng means they have too purchase more too get what they want. the only reason the speed boosted ones are even necessary is just for the 100% speed slot. I get that its convenient too have faster ones, but thats why you can "pay for convenience"

I would support seeing "Profession packs" for all the professions being added though, but not just a white/green upgrade.
People are way too negative, Why cant we just all get along.

As long as the company feels they won't lose money, there is no reason not to contemplate this kind of change. The ftp formula is time or money = progress, and as long as they can stay true to that proven formula, it should be ok.
