Whenever I come too the forums its just negative thread, nerf complaint, buff request and troll bait.
I for one want to focus on the positives and the hype around mod 8 , with the little teasers we are getting i'm sure there's things we're all looking forward too.
I'm especially looking forward too the new appearance management, It'll be awesome too be able too play around with outfits and try out transmutes too farm for. I'm also keen for some new content and less repetitive farming. hoping the rewards from this new content really are "unique and rewarding like stated"
I also seem to recall reading about a balance patch. this could be really interesting and open up new builds and add viability to other things! which I really like.
How about others? what are you looking forward too the most?
People are way too negative, Why cant we just all get along.

New campaign with storyline
New HE's with scaling difficulty / rewards
New appearance management system.
"repeatable vs repetition"
Potential balance changes.
"we have not yet finished looking at AD changes"
"Trade bar rework"
Theres a fair bit thats been given out and while some of it might just become theorycrafting i'm sure people have things they are hoping for / excited about based on the given news.
But I do get what you mean. I'm just sick of seeing every single post being some sort of aggressive hate-post or doomsaying thread.

r a salvatore - that s all i have to say.
dont believe me? check his work on kingdom of amalur action rpg game hypnotic.
I dont read quests, I just click confirm.
New story? Its just filling some bars to 100% and get the boons.
I dont know why the elves are in sharandar or why they need a small cutscene with Elminster or why someone was looking forward to a stupid hamster.
Please explain! What can Salvatore do for NWO?
Moar hes, yaay, as if existing hes arent enough to slightly throw up every time you encounter one
new raid - considering the old "raid" better having game as is with existing boring grind, instead of having another pug filled shithole thats nothing more than a he with its own zone you are forced to do 500x for boons
the things im looking forward the most is fix of ad sinks, and actual real content, real dungeons like dungeons were at vanilla where you had to actually try to finish it, and if you did you had a good chance of awesome rewards. to think of it the best thing mod8 could be is return to vanilla keeping existing classes and bugfixes(the few they did fix)
10 man Demogorgon fight -> Another look-like HE. Message here: we're reusing the same fights system. Nothing really new, but the type of enemy. Exciting the first 3/4 runs.
New campaign with storyline: OMG. Another one. From the fresh lvl 70 player perspective who want to progress: Shar, WoD, IWD, DR, SH and now UD. We're lucky: just 150$ and you can skip 3 of them.
New HE's with scaling difficulty / rewards: this may be interesting. My cristall ball: a new loot where a key is needed to open it. The key is BoA and available at the zen market only.
New appearance management system -> At the end of my priority list of whishes.
"repeatable vs repetition" -> It will be a "repeatable repetition". Two/three different setups repeated infinitely.
Potential balance changes -> The word "potential" said everything. Still waiting...
"we have not yet finished looking at AD changes" -> This has nothing to do with mod 8.
"Trade bar rework" -> This is interesting. I hope it will not be nerfed again.

The devs are cut or replaced, then seem to make drastic changes that are incomprehensible to the a lot of the playerbase, communication drops between the two increasingly disillusioned sides, the population falls and the game limps on, never recovering to its heights, or capturing the magic of the initial release. It's the way of the industry.
"Trapped in the past, the player finds himself leaping from life to life, putting things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next leap will be the leap home. "
And deathbeez YES, in fact the whole BG series rocked (BTW thanks devs for the Golden Pantaloons from the Waukeen event, still so happy about getting them, little things matter)
You know what would bring hype:
- New dungeons AND return of old dungeons
- Removal of AD, replaced with gold based economy
I'll admit the storyline isn't as important in an MMO as in in a single player game, but it shouldn't be overlook as a tool for entertainment.
Cryptic/PE probably hate WoW comparisons, but WoW had the perfect mix of single player and multiplayer questlines/content. They may want to change their myopic money-making-centric point of view and observe what has worked in other games for a change. It is ultimately hard for myself (even as a relatively new player) to get "hyped" about the future, when I have already have had drummed into my skull that the game consists of soul crushing repetition of content lacking a shred of challenge for a chance at a container that virtually requires real cash spent in order to have a CHANCE at the reward you are striving for.
is just "kill x monsters, collect the drops, and interact to some npc" in order to receive 1500 of xp.
Oh, where was this discussed and what does it entail, please?
Edit: Never mind, I guess you actually meant the gear and fashion item preview thing they mentioned in a news post not long ago, and not actually character appearance changes.
/sarcasm off
Hype=
1.
to stimulate, excite, or agitate (usually followed by up):
She was hyped up at the thought of owning her own car.
2.
to create interest in by flamboyant or dramatic methods; promote or publicize showily:
a promoter who knows how to hype a prizefight.
3.
to intensify (advertising, promotion, or publicity) by ingenious or questionable claims, methods, etc. (usually followed by up).
4.
to trick; gull.
The most common use on this game is # 3 and #4, most notably: "questionable claims, methods,etc/ to trick or gull"
The one were the guy loaths his job and gets hypnotized into not giving a fig?
The office head supervisor, always with a cup of coffee in hand and the smarmy voice? "Yeh...I'm going to need everyone to come in on saturday.....yeh it's a work saturday...come in, we, well you, I need you to work...."
"Yeh....did you get your TPS sheets done yet?...Yeh.. I'm going to need you to do those TPS sheets again....Yeh those are crucial and we need you to do those over again, since you seem to be missing....."
THAT GUY! HE is the one "we are looking into it"
Around 2 weeks after launch I started playing a little known MMO named City of Heroes. Those of you who know me in the forums know how I gush on and on about that game. But maybe not the why.
The game had basicly a 1st gen version of the action combat that people love in Neverwinter. It was no where near as defined as Neverwinter was. But it was FUN!. From level 1 to level 50, all the way through the incarnate story line and skill tree (Which is pretty much the same way we get our boons here) the game was fun. It wasn't just fun because of the fights, or how they were set up. It was fun because you were part of a evolving story.
The content never got old for most people, because the story was good. And they knew in 3 or 4 months the story would be expanded with the next new content that would be coming out for that game....That, beyond all the bugs, beyond all the crappy grinding, is the #1 thing this game lacks. It's a D&D game, which is about the story of your character in this world.
Not once in all my years playing D&D did we meet, set up, and just run fight after fight after fight without anything in between. If we had we would have all gotten bored with it and found other things to do on the weekends, and late nights that we gamed.
That's what we are hoping R.A. Salvatore brings to Neverwinter Online.
Plus, people just #$!@ing love Drizzt Do'Urden.
It's mod 7 all over again. Forcing something down your throat you don't really want to do.
He wrote like one good trilogy (Homeland-Exile-Soujurn - the last wasn't so good) which was truly amazing, and created a whole new race and culture with it. After that most of his books were mediocre, even with some really bad ones (Transitions, Sea os Swords I look at you). Anyway, the new Newerwinter books were bettter, until he brought back the old characters - It's like comics, if characters can not die, there's no reason to worry for them. So I wouldn't expect that story will solve problems. There's not much to do with a Demogorgon who wants to kill everyone. And I guess it will be a Raidlike something like Tiamat, not even a dungeon.
Devs seems to like Heroic Encounters a lot, which most of the playerbase hates. IT's not content, it's some easy-to-do wannabecontent. Its HE-s again and again since MOD3. There's no new dungeon or skirmish since MOD4. So want to get back the players? Make something
