AD and Gold in Neverwinter

So with the recent updates to the ad system at first i thought they were a good idea, thought the removal of AD from leadership to be a good thing, i used leadership to get some AD but not all of my AD came from it. Now the game has given players two roles to succeed in Neverwinter and become halfway useful. Either you can play 4-5 toons a day to get your AD from Skirmishes, Dungeons, and PVP, which you can make maybe 100k to 150k depending how many characters you do this on, which might i add racks up some in game hours. Or you can be a wallet warrior and spend hundreds on zen to convert to ad because the exchange rate has dropped so much. The amount of AD a player can aquire has been reduced, thats fine, the price of greater marks of potency have dropped thats a good thing, closes the game between rank 7 and rank 12 a little bit. But the cost of everything else is still ridiculous, if you have a companion you like the cost of upgrading from blue to purple is still outrageous. Mount upgrades, i have a medium tiger, my favorite mount based off looks, but 1.4 million AD to upgrade him to 110% speed? Then you got transmutes, i think the Elven Helm for just about every class looks ridiculous, i much prefer my Hood of the Wild, but 50k ad for a transmute? if your going to lower the amount of AD a player can generate to bring the economy back into balance you should balance out some other things as well, hell golds useless, make mount and companion upgrades doable with a gold option. Make transmutes cost gold, do something to maybe balance this out.

I'm probably gonna get trash talked for posting this but eh, i'm not a troll so your flames don't scare me.

The only reason you would be flamed for this, is not because its inaccurate, its because it has been posted about once a day since the Leadership changes went live.

I think a few additional changes are in order:

    1. Make transmutation cost gold instead of ADs, (they did this with enchantment removal, so it isn't unprecedented).
    2. Lower mount training and companion upgrade costs.
    3. Lower Stronghold AD requirements.

    +1 for me.
I've spent tons trying to keep the same look for my DC ever since mod 5 BI armor, I couldn't stand how that looked on him, it looked great on my other toons but made him look fat.
Each new mod has about three armor changes to get to BIS times four pieces of armor times 50,000 AD to transmute each piece= 600,000 AD per mod per character, That's way too much to be set back just because I found an interesting look.
oh yeah tack on even more to dye it the right color because all your new armor has already been dyed and that comes through when you transmute, that can cost upwards of 16,000 AD for each piece so cost is more like 792,000 AD per mod per character.
Please lower the cost so everyone will be able to have some fun experimenting with transmutation.

Another approach would be to add a transmutation vendor, who has a selection of common appearance items, (all tagged to be free to transmute), and sell them for gold. Just reuse the common weapon and armor skins, and set this NPC up to sell them for gold.

100% agree, Honestly most of the AD I generated with leadership went to Transmutes, Dyes, companion upgrades and the stronghold. Now I barely make enough AD to donate 10k AD a week to the coffers and Transmutes/dyes are not even an option. Hopefully these axact ideas are turned into reality.

I've managed to almost completely ignore transmute costs by tooning around in fashion outfits rather than in my armor, for the most part. While I'm not completely dissatisfied with my main DC's current armor look with a splash of dye here and there, he's seen 99% of the time in either Courtesan or Waterdhavian clothing, both of which could be earned during various events and freebies. I've always felt that transmutes are ludicrously overpriced, even when my AD income was a few degrees of magnitude larger than it is currently.

I made a thread some time ago about kind of the same thing. Copper/Silver/Gold is what one can legitimately earn through dungeoneering. It's uses are so seriously crippled as to be useless. If AD and Zen are to remain the staple currency, then it needs to replace gold drops, or a decent way to convert gold to AD must be added.

in a world where gold is supposed to be a rare thing, in the books to get a bag of 30 gold was a big deal, my characters each sitting on hundreds of gold, with nothing to spend it on, and still feeling broke is ridiculous, I've been reading forgotten realms books for going on 15 years, I've never once read about astral diamonds being the all powerful currency of faerun....
