A few thoughts on Mod 6

Having 2 lvl 70 and 1 lvl 67 (as of today) I would like to give some of my thoughts on the game so far.

Mod 6 is HUGE, so i get that XBOX users basically have a wave of new things to do, however, it is such a grindfest moreso then before to get through everything.,
What i have seen is the following
1. Dungeons now seem a waste of time, mainly because most of my friends are upset about the amount of lag, making teaming up with friends almost non existant. These players are people that have been with the game since launch, and if there are that many people refusing to do the dungeons it can not be good. I have tried to Que up for dungeons only to get a room full of HR and CW that pretty much die when sneezed on...of course the key is to get better gear, but to do that they have to complete the dungeons, which become this big circle of fail. Something needs to be done about this or if anyone has a different approach to what to do. I don't want to run Pirate king for another 200 runs, I want to play the new content and that seems wasted on this new approach to much tougher runs.
2. Dailies, this is getting way to out of hand, it creates too much linear play to have to rinse and repeat same areas over and over again every day. Basically a group of guys i run with do dailies on all characters for about 3-4 hours and then maybe some PvP..that is it, To advance the campaigns you do dailies, the same dailies but now in like every area....dailies. There has to be some break to this forced grind or some other way to advance the campaigns. Can't area reputation also include XP earned in the area? why can't heroic events pay out zone XP or reputation?
3. XP earned, why in the story line i can earn 10-15k in XP but in the new much tougher areas i only earn 1000-1200 xp? This makes no sense either. I definitely should be earning more xp in Ice wind then i did in drowned shores..i could solo DS but its have tough in Icewind.
4. Almost impossible to solo. We need areas we can solo, i can only imagine how hard it was for PC users before you nerfed mobs. Has a DC i can stay alive but it takes me 5 mins or dodging to kill a yeti. Of course my CW can blast a mob of bears down in a blink of an eye, if i am lucky enough not to trip over a pebble!. Anyone that has multiple classes can tell you that the game and class powers are just not balanced.
5. Astral Diamonds. Boy i miss the days of earning AD from drops i did not need or want, this whole bind on pick up needs to go we should be able to freely trade and sell anything in the game no matter what rank or class.
6. Currency crazy, I think there are what like 12 different currencies in the game? AD, Trade bars, Gold, Seals, Bounty coins, black ice, silver scales, cogs, event currency....etc... can you not make the game just a few different currencies? or can you make a currency trader?? Sure there might be an exchange rate but i have so much stuff sitting around i have no idea what to do with it.
7. Forced inventory items. really? why do i have to carry a pick for black ice in my inventory slots? But silver gloves are not? I don't get why anything including quest items have to be forced in my precious bag spaces. and why do i have so many different peridots? I have regular, bound, and something else meaning they will not stack.

Ok those are a few of my thoughts and feelings, i am not really sure there is a reply to this because it is all based on opinion with limited knowledge, but if you have some tips that addresses any of the above, please share.

happy Gaming

I agree with the character/account binding of RP items - that's a total waste of space. Why not be able to sell them? Where's the harm?

I think the bigger question is usually: where's the profit (for PWE) in restricting the sale of these items because it does nothing to enhance game mechanics.

The answer is (I suspect) that PWE profit from blood diamond & coalescent ward sales and by restricting these items (by binding them) they keep the supply down & therefore AH price high. This reflects in better sales of Zen RP items.

Also, if they cause you to have constantly full bags - guess what you need to buy (with Zen) to balance this? Yep, more bags.

It is (to my mind) a cynical manipulation of the player base. As is not being able to turn 3rd tier crafters into 4th (green) - you can only get them from profession packs.

As a low geared-CW (IL 2050, no purple artifacts or enchants above +8 yet) I can assure you that bears in IWD are too tough for me solo so I'm usually fighting bear rider if I need drops from bears and killing a pair of Yetis is a long exercise in evading so I oftentimes chose to fight single Yeti (there are a few places with them). The new areas are challenging. Weeklies in IWD are nearly impossible to solo.

The grind is quite real with the campaigns, after the first 2-3 boons we'll have to do dailies for 3+ weeks to get the remaining boons. One can also grind AD and buy genie gifts of the AH to help with Sharandar Dread Ring, not so much for IWD.

Low experience from daily quests is indeed are boomer - that makes very tricky to level-up more powers. I'm actually making more AD and exp on my alt which I'm leveling in Drowned Shore when on my main who does campaign dailies, so I'm thinking of going back to grind there (choosing the Vigilance tasks which reward with expensive resources).

Overall, while the new content looks quite interesting but it does seem a bit unbalanced across the board.
