Game not responding - when changing characters?

Why do I have to restart the game every time I want to switch characters? This game is becoming so frustrating!

    That has never happened to me, though sometimes I get logged out when changing characters. I don't have to start the game again, but do have to log back in.

    Yea, I have to shut the game down through task manager then restart the game..... very frustrating

    I have the same issue sometimes, if i don't take some time between logging from one character to another, at some point the game will just freeze while loading...
    I do believe in killing the messenger...
    Want to know why?
    Because it sends a message!

    I dunno.... I have been doing it like this for over a year now and this just started today.

    Usually happens to me after my 4th alt, switching kicks me all the way out and have to enter password again.

    This happens to me frequently. Not every time, but usually once per play session.

    Another "bot deterrent"?

    I don't know, all i do know, i have to wait at least a minute per character after logging in and switching to another character now.

    I spend more time restarting this game then I do playing! I am going to try to uninstall then reinstall this game.

    This game is turning into a real piece of junk!

    I uninstalled the game > completely purged my registry of Cryptic, neverwinter and perfect world> reinstalled the game in a different directory. Game runs really smooth now ...no random freezes, crashes or other cryptic junk.

    The reinstall worked....

    kept on getting server disconx for a week now...today within 20 mins got disconx 3 times...changing toon got disconx also...this is not right

    I'm not sure if "normal" server disconnects are coming from logging to soon between characters... there might be another cause for that.

    I would consider a new installation, if it wouldn't take several days to do so... only DSL "light" here.

    This far i have run several force verify,
    checking my SSHDs weekly to be sure, that everything is in order with those,
    keeping my software (drivers, security software and so on) up to date,
    i'm running out of options here.

    Happens every single day to me countless times... happened at least 5x today already since maintenance while invoking.

    I have several toons on my wife's and my account and when I do the invoking I encoutner it daily at least 5x very very annoying. And it only started several patches ago. Doesnt matter whether its my latptop from work, or my gaming rig at home, or my wife's pc... DAILY, not responding on the loading screen have to drop to desktop and kill the process and come back in.

    Its not my pcs or ISP either because I'm trying this from like 4 different PCs, 3 different ISPs when you include from work, from tethered on Verizon, from Comcast.... doesnt matter ...

    Win7, Win8, Win10 ALL do it.

    OH and LAST COMMENT! I thought it was related to switching too fast to invoke, but this morning before I work I did all my Sharandar dailies on one toon and switched and BAMN... progress bar 1/2 way LOCK.... Kill task, log back in....

    I wish they would fix this!

    This happens to me a lot as well. I've stopped invoking. As of last week's patch (Nov 19) it's happening even when I stay on the same character and just switch zones.

    the game stops loading for me too. it seems to happen very randomly. i went an entire week with no crashes while changing characters then i had several in one play session. what happens to me is i will change characters while invoking on all my Alts (8 characters) and the orange loading bar hits 50% then stops. sometimes it only stops briefly then keeps loading just fine, but randomly it will stop forever forcing me to reboot the game. its very annoying.

    I've had this happen around 4 times today. All 4 happened on the same character and in Caer-Koenig...
    1st one I had been afk for 5-10 minutes looking at something on the forums...next think I knew was seeing the cryptic bug submit screen. So wasn't doing anything at the time.
    The next one was a couple hours later after I had been mostly playing other alts and I was cycling thru invoking and setting professions. It got into the instance and I hit N to bring up the professsions and got the application not responding and then the crash submit about a minute later.
    The next one was right away after selecting the same char from the char selection got about halfway to getting to instance like in the screenshot posted and it hung and then got the crash dialog again.
    The next one was about 10 minutes later. The char did get into the instance just fine this time and I was able to set all the professions and invoke. I was then just chatting with someone on the legit channel about the ichor bug and it went not responding and crashed again.
    I logged in and went on to a different alt and didn't have any more problems cycling thru the last 6 of my alts.

    Not sure if the description above helps but thought I would try to give as much detail of what I was seeing and as it was fresh in my mind.
