My Mod 6 Experience thus far...

I was excited. So very excited. New lands, gear, opportunities, and fun places to explore. Then the dawning of what had happened slowly gradually came to me. It went something like this. I first realized they ramped the difficulty. Thus making all my hard earned progress, armor and enchants up to now next to useless. They took away my dungeons i worked so hard to get and spent hours and hours of my time waiting to procure. I had to re-earn them by getting to lvl 70, which i would later realize was nothing more than a "Gauntlet of Pain and Disgrace." At first it seemed possible to conquer everything... that is until I ran into the newest Troll to NW... those dang crabs in drowned shores! Then the pain continues to mount as I realized that unless i'm in a group, BIGGER than 5 I didn't have a prayer. Usually me and my Fiance played together and we tore everything to pieces. We were a well oiled machine, her being a TR and me being a HR. Like i said... until ... the crabs... Other surprises hit me along the way... like the epic encounters being harder than anything i have ever seen in this game... even harder than the tiamat fight was... Then when I finally reach the top, lvl 70 I discovered that the pain is just beginning. If like me you were quick to just feed the new blue gear to your artifact equipment as you got it... thinking this is Blue and green it couldn't possibly be more powerful than my Draconic Templar gear i worked so hard to get during the Tiamat days. WRONG! You find out real quick in the new campaign areas that HP is the newest and best thing to get on equipment but by then it's to late and a struggle to obtain new gear. So now i'm equipping every shred of anything i can get my hands on to get more exp and it's sad to let my set bonus go but i had to do it. Not long into the update the Developers decide to grace us with a double seal weekend. I'm thinking AWESOME now i can finally get some decent gear from the new seals! So i try out a new T1 dungeon. Destroyed out the gate. Why in gods name would the developers wave a shiny new toy (double seals) in our faces so early in the update? When a lot of us were still struggling to take down the ramped up difficulty of normal enemies? Were are tempted to further destruction by promising us double seals... When potions are useless... and they took our ability to pop all benefit potions at once and ramp our abilities away...

In closing i'm just gonna say i'm not gonna give up, nor am i gonna give in the the need to purchase zen with real cash. However as i said before in a previous post. This whole Update seems geared towards making more money off the customers frustration and misery.

Said it before, I shall say it again....they are trying their hardest to milk everyone out of money before they all leave for the games coming out this holiday season. That is when this game will cease to exist on Xbox. I know some disagree, but with all the issues and problems, and then what OP mentioned...there is no way this game is going to survive.

i can't say that i agree with most of your post, even though i do agree with a few things. i solo'd most of my way from 60-70. i only grouped up with some guild mates a few times, and that was for fun not necessity. the crabs were super hard, but it's a funny memory now as i look back at it. solo was insta-death, in a group of three we managed well but it was no cake walk lol. other than that, i found the content more difficult, but not incredibly so.

the heroic encounters are a HUGE leap in difficulty, but if you think about it in mod 5 they were too easy. it said recommended 3-5 players for example, and i could solo them. that's not right.

on the gear... you come to these forums, and people were talking about all our old gear being obsolete leading up to this for several weeks. i hung on to my draconic gear until around lvl 65 or 66 and then started using the quest gear.

on dungeons... i don't like the set up right now. they seem pointless, other than to have something different to do. i want to farm LoL to try and get a horn. the seal equipment doesn't see worth it.. it's over priced, and i don't think it bumps you in to the next item score level for the next set of dungeons. i'm focusing on the campaign missions right now so i can level up artifacts and enchantments... reach my IS requirements that way.

i want to reiterate, as some others already have, it's so important to get your RI% up. i will tell you my IS is a little over 1800, i have an ioun stone that's not maxed out. my current RI% is about 45%. i queued up for LoL and got a group that was stuck on the dragon. everyone had about 2200 IS. we go to fight and I am the one drawing all the aggro. i am a HR trapper and my AoE damage is nice, but i should rarely be the one doing the most damage on a single boss target... especially with my equipment. if you are a DPS build and struggling, this will help you tremendously. kill everything first, and they can't kill you.

double seals was a waste. again i don't like the set up right now anyway, and the bugginess of dungeon instances left a bad taste in my mouth as well. queuing in to the dungeon and not being a part of the group. not able to join the group. not able to leave the instance... very annoying.

I agree 100%. Especially with the health potions being useless. 2,000 extra health from the previous ones is a joke. Only thing viable are the health stones. And only being able to use one benefit potion after the difficulty was increased dramatically is not cool. Especially since one drops out of every mob your run into.

This post won't be up for long though. They always get deleted.

With all that being said I'm still up for the challenge. Wouldn't be a good game if it was easy. Just frustrating sometimes. But thats life

The potions thing really gets me - I always kept a regen potion as well as heal in the tray until I noticed the refen now knocks off the fortification or power potion I had up.

Im enjoying the new challenges, dont like the health potions though, other than that itz been easy enough to solo, and knew new gear was better immediately (except for GFs i rocked it to 70) never have to group up for anything but its good fun to.

Just dont be scared to think outside the box. I know my honey badger is dispensing justice on behalf of my GF. Theres always a way to beat games

WRONG! You find out real quick in the new campaign areas that HP is the newest and best thing to get on equipment but by then it's to late and a struggle to obtain new gear.

You can still get a lot of standard useful blue gear by quick running the leveling (3 person) dungeons as the final reward. These are the same level as Eternal gear from WoD but may be more optimal for you specific class, e.g. I would can get ArPen and Life Steal instead of Power and Recovery.

Not long into the update the Developers decide to grace us with a double seal weekend. I'm thinking AWESOME now i can finally get some decent gear from the new seals! Assuming we are talking about GMs, not the devs, I agree, some of the events seem to be not quit appropriate for the moment. Seal Event is a great example of course. But, say, who cares about the new crab mount if we've just got the Hammerstone Runeforge Kit in Zen Market which triples Black Ice mining output and reduces harvesting time down to 6 seconds (4 seconds with those pick charges).

P.S. Also notice those new cheap Uncommon/Rare/Epic Archon companions with nice damage boost active bonuses (you can get 4 Rare ones at less than 150K AD all together).

I still think the difficulty of the dungeons should drop slightly to stop turning people away, it's hard to Q now because of it. If you don't have a strong team all around you're going to fail and alot of people just don't have people they can group with for runs.

Yep you hit the nail right on the head. Plus life steal almost never works it used to all the time. And the Trickster Rogues are powerless compared to what they were. I could tolerate it for pvp but they screwed it up for pve also which was my breaking point. Also It shouldn't cost anything to respec characters and Artifacts should be transferrable between characters as well. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

    It's 46 more days.

They won't make the dungeons easier. Everyone on the pc right now either think the dungeons are too easy that it's boring them or they think the dungeons are perfect now

Are you saying the game on PC is exactly like what we have on X1? So far the wiki based on PC content seem to be rather inaccurate as far as the gear concerned. And I would imagine the prices and item availability also varies. So I'd take PC experience with a grain of salt.

Well this is XBOX and nobody is trying to Q to run anymore. And it will only get worse, meaning less people.

Basically you need guild now to run dungeons or you will fail every time. Those crabs destroyed me on my gwf (my main) in till I leveled my paladin up and got him to the area, I solo the event up too boss(tanking 6-9 crabs at once) just fine with the paladin lol

I just wish they scaled the Dungeons a little better. Make it get progressively harder the closer to the End Boss you Get. Not being able to push past the first Mob's with a PUG is just rough.

the primary difference between the PC and the XB1 is not the game mechanics, it's time. PC players have been playing this content longer so they have their characters closer to BIS with everything. they also have had more time to build up AD... as well as bots to help them along.

so, i'm not so sure the mechanics should differ greatly between PC and XB1, but maybe the devs could have more promos to help bring us up to speed... and i don't just mean zen discounts.

also people are going to have to accept that their builds just flat out suck. stop looking at your item score and fix your freaking build. all those people in mod 5 that leaned on their GS for tiamat are now seeing what everyone meant when people said GS isn't everything. saw an HR this morning with 3 legendaries and only had 2400 armpen... you like struggling, then that's on you, not the game.

It should be said that TECHNICALLY you only really need 40% RI for all ads EXCEPT for the bosses, you need 60%. So everyone spamming you need 60% for every aspect of the game are incorrect.
  • soonergmsoonergm Member Posts: 503 Arc User

well i will tell you that 2400 armpen for HR will not get you 40% RI unless you put a lot of points in to strength. and if you put that much in to strength then you didn't put enough in to dexterity or wisdom... so the build is bad(i can't speak on too many other classes). so you know, people can play how they want, i don't want to tell people how to play. but imo it's a bit odd to play against the game mechanics and complain that you can't do anything successfully in the game. it's like some people want the devs to change the game entirely to fit their play style, instead of trying to figure out the game. i mean part of gaming is figuring out how to win. it's not to lose and protest to change the game so you can win.

I was simply stating that 40% is all you need for ads. I was not saying anything about specific classes. I personally have 59% RI, but that's just me.

The dungeons are not that hard, they seem hard cuz people are mid way through the game and they are trying to skip to end game content.

All these extras were released incrementally shan, dread , ice, elemental evil etc. These were all suppose to be done before moving on. Now you have people with blue artifacts/gear, no boons, no personalized rings, lv 6 enchants trying to run dungeons and wondering why it's hard. Soon as you get your boons and gear leveled, I'm sure it will be easier. 1600, and 2000 items levels to seem to low for access though.
