When i start playing i randomly focused on companions... Spend the most in them but they now are close to useless since the game is turning PVP. In the Zen store there are a lot of companions but why ppl would buy them ?
So i suggest treat the companion as part of the equipment as it is. You may consider that companions are the only "Items" that are flat for all classes so u can be wise to chose to get the most benefit.
