At the end of the Drake Pens quest is there a way to unlock the cage?

in General Discussion (PC)
When you get to the very end of the quest there's a human cage with someone inside of it. When you focus on it, it has the following message in red, "Requires Repentant Cultist Cage Key". Just wondering what this is about.

    It drops from the mini boss (the one you fight in the same room) before, but its RNG. In all those mini dungeons in WoD.

    i have done these dungeons with that cage 1000 times and only saw the key drop once in te first week of mod6. dont get your hopes up, the RNG on it is either disabled or bugged to be so low of a chance it's not ever worth trying

    Just curious what happens when you do open the cage?

    I got 3 keys so far. The latest one was from last week. It was in Cult prison though.

    Like many, I got a key in the first week of the run, I have run hundreds if not a thousand after and never got another one. I think there is something broken about it as well.

    I got a key once. Don't use the companion though. It's sitting in my idle companions, because it binds on pickup.

    No, I did not say I got all 3 in last 6 months. I got 3 in the course of 1 year. :)

    By the way, the char who got that key last week cannot use the key (not I want to) because he cannot 'see' the cage when he has the companion already. I passed the key to another alt but he is not good enough to reach the cage in those WoD dungeon yet.

    That companion may be rare but it is not exactly very good and I do not plan to upgrade it neither.

    I've never seen a key drop for those boxes at the end of WoD quest dungeons.

    If a companion is THAT rare, it should flipping rock. Disappointing.

    The key is not in the chest. It is under the body of the boss. If you don't check the body, you will miss it. I did not even know when I got the first key, I picked up all sort of stuff in the room and found out there was a key after I left.

    I've seen the key exactly 1 time in all my runs, luckily enough I came away with it and got the companion. Like others said though it isn't very good but i'll still take it

    Never EVER seen a key and I'm always picking up loot when I see on crowd once fight done, that includes running WoD on my SW, HR and GWF.

    The Repentant Dragon Cultist active bonus is okay if you fight a lot of dragons and have the Fire Archon, which means you get a damage boost throughout the fight, but the introduction of the Air Archon pretty much made both pointless to use.

    I had grinded three toons through WoD and didn't get a key drop. On my 4th toon, got it in the first instance, DP. So yea, pretty rare. Not a good pet though. Its a defender, but the Man-at-Arms is better.
