Same exact situation, same exact mass disconnections and inability to play without first setting to EU proxy, multiple guildmates reporting now. Can you guys seriously....seriously, switch to comcast cause its clear Cogent is inept.

You are more than welcome to put me down as a reference when asked who told you about them when you drop cogent and switch to comcast.

Ok, so went to wife computer and she had no lag! Went to go restart my machine and noticed that I had Window's Updates for my computer. Installed updates and my lag cleared. A little irritating but problem fixed....

Here we go again, same time as the original post even. Clearly this is a specific moment where hardware somewhere is cycling or something. Cogent/Cryptic need to negotiate a better deal or you guys need to get comcast cause you are isolating a large portion of your customers with this nonsense that Cogent is shoveling your way.

Oh No, American's are getting less than single digit latency.
Try being the rest of the world that will connect with triple digits and speak of lag.

Oh No, American's are getting less than single digit latency.

Try being the rest of the world that will connect with triple digits and speak of lag.

The use of the apostrophe is not necessary, you're utilizing a the plural form of the word, not a possessive form of the word.

Hehe, I can be antagonistic, as well. How about offering something constructive instead of trying to one-up the people that have complaints. I could understand if your criticism was constructive, but it was just asinine and arbitrary.

I played a number of MMOs while I was deployed to Iraq (on a satellite connection) and averaged 600-900ms ping rates, and was still able to be successful at them. The latency here isn't about how fast the responses from the individual hops are, it's a matter of packet loss, rather than latency. Lag is a lot more than just what your ping rate is. You can have ping rates of 5ms, but if you're losing 60% of the packets sent/received, the game is unplayable.

The response rates (in ms) doesn't necessarily mean anything when it comes to latency. I average between 35-95ms latency in nearly every game that I play and have no issues in any other than Neverwinter, presently. I have (in the last hour) logged in and done some adventuring in 6 different MMOs, because I wanted to ensure that the issue with rubberbanding and constant lag were not on my end. Every single game plays flawlessly, highest ping was around 80ms and that's higher than what I get in NeverWinter and was more playable. For some reason, NeverWinter is rubberbanding constantly, making it where I cannot even accomplish running across one zone, I finally had to give up and log out.
