Loosing Item Lvl pts. when upgrading

I upgraded from a Elemental Assault Breastplate IL132 to a Elven Assault Breastplate IL135 (replaced with same gems) and went from IL 2406 down to IL 2389 (nice upgrade there!). I was wondering if this is a known bug that others are experiencing? Any suggestions I can try or did I just waste 600 Protector's Seals?

    My advise is not to look at the Item level but rather on the stats you gain.

    Now I do know that sometimes even in that department it's not an upgrade. Apart from maybe a tad more HP.

    I would say more. Looking at the new BIS gear from SH. As a GF I would say that I still don't see a big difference between the Elven stuff and the Dragonflight.

    Looking at the stat distribution there's far more useless (IMO) stats like deflect or regen. This comes from a protector GF stand point.

    So in order to achieve desired stats we must mix "DPS and tanky" gear. Which is ultimately not that bad due to the fact that 2 pieces gives the set bonus anyway.

    I forgot to add that the new gear looks flipping awesome, so that adds to it :p one should never forget about the SWAG factor B)

    Must have been, never seen a bug that eats itemlvl. And boy have I seen many in this game :wink:

    GearScore and Item Level have always been flawed concepts. From the moment they started in MMOs, they have been used to reflect all that is wrong with society.

    To the OP: Usually this involves an armor kit, or you put the wrong enchant back in or something.
