Enchanted Key Sale - Zen Prices

Zen has been steadily climbing ever since the Enchanted Key Sale that started earlier today.

The official site says that it will go on until Monday (Thanks for the correction*Edit). They also hint that the Nine Hells box won't stay forever, and I think it will probably go away with Elemental Evil to be replaced by the new Black Ice Box.

In the past hour, Zen had gone up from 255 to 259. I predict that through the weekend it's going to be in 290s, 300s, so don't wait, buy Zen now or keep your Zen if you have it. If buying keys, save them for the Black Ice box unless you're just making money off Unearthed.

What do you think Zen prices will be during the weekend, and do you think they will be even higher come *edit* Tuesday, Elemental Evil?

FYI, the official site says the key sale ends Monday at 10am PDT. Elemental Evil releases Tuesday at 10am PDT. Don't wait too long and miss the sale.

honestly the price for said keys is a bit steep even with this "sale" 1100 not even 10 bucks which is stupid it should be an even 10 and then include 1-2 extra key('s) more players will buy it that way Companions and Mounts are over priced as hell 30-50 bucks for a horse? why?? I realize they want to make money but no one item should be More than the purchase of an actual Xbox or PC game. I can pay a bill with 30+ bucks anyone can. I can maybe understand 25 for a new class or multiples of many items, companions, mounts etc. but Not 1 thing that's just thievery.

I'm only saying this because I do like this game and would want more players to play it but not at the cost of leaving them broke.

First off, the prices of these items is thievery. I been gaming for 20 years and never thought it would come to this. $35 for one item. then you have these keys. Its "gaming gambling", is i call it. Where they prey on gaming addicts. Knowing that someone like me will pay out for a chance at that million diamond drop. Its no different than a scratch ticket out the corner store. The game and economy is designed like a casino, keep them playing as long as possible and in the end the house always wins. Zen slowly goes up to the point where, especially new players have to pay in to buy zen.

This has been my real issue in the growing FTP gaming model where if you want everything a game has to offer you either have to spend an absurd amount of money or invest an absolutely insane amount of time. I'm all for supporting a product I enjoy playing, however every time (without fail) that i've loaded the zen market to buy something I instantly change my mind due to the absurd real world cash value of the items on there....I have the money, I simply can't justify it to myself

guys, it's your choice to spend cash for these zen items. i have not spent any money yet, but i plan on it. however i'm not going to pay money for everything that i want. i will do a combination of spending real money and in game money. it's not instant gratification, but this way i can support the devs/game and i'm not paying outrageous money for 1 item that lets me run around a map 30% faster.

What soonergm said. I've spent a total of 5 bucks on this game, been playing it for 2 months. In that time, I've amassed several million AD through clever sales, market knowledge, and downright having a blast in Traumaline House. I'm not one of those scammer HAMSTER bags, I despise the people who do gold or item swaps and report them to xbox live. I make about 1k Zen per day, but the thing is, in order to make AD you gota spend AD, so making that 250k AD, most of it goes back into the 'loop' of buying/selling. I do splurge on myself once in a while, I just got the Champion of the north pack and I'm trying to get Dragonborn pack but I keep buying bloody boxes..... Aghh don't buy boxes people, get the pack first THEN buy boxes. After you have an epic mount for all your characters. Oh, another thing - get more character slots. And for Tiamat's sake - drop Leadership, biggest waste of time EVER.

I do plan on spending a little more money when they have the Zen sale too soonergm X)) Breaking my own rules, but hey I love this game and I don't mind giving back for the fun I have in it. Oh, as Soonergm mentioned, an item tht lets you run around the map faster? That changed my Neverwinter gaming experience. Get an epic mount ASAP, if you can, get the Champion of the North pack if you're dedicated and got multiple characters, it's not a bad value, or get an epic mount from Zen market since that can be claimed for all your characters...

Anyway, watching Zen fluctuate now - it seems to be a steady 270 during the day, but I suspect it will reach 290, possibly hit 300 on Tuesday evening.

Buying a 10 pack of keys @ 270 ratio is the same as purchasing 10 @ 230 without event.

A couple of comments ignore the point about pricing - that if you are using real money, $30+ dollars/euros/pounds whatever is way too high for mounts etc.

I understand the AD to Zen ratio & keeping that high encourages people to buy with $ but the $ to Zen cost is ridiculous.

Guild Wars 1 ran for 6 years on PC (I think it's kinda still going but most players left when GW2 came out) and they'd charge $2 - $10 for all their store items. A character slot was $5. I probably spent $700-$1000 over those 6 years but the amount you got in return was worth it.

I would suggest they have a two tier pricing system where you have a dollar price for items (cheap) and a Zen price (not so cheap) that'll encourage $ purchases at realistic prices but still afford an in-game avenue for people to buy these items with AD.

I don't think the key sale is the only reason that your Zen exchange prices are climbing. A lot of people are wanting to have enough Zen to get Rank 12 VIP on day one so they won't have to worry about it for a whole year, and that's a free key every day for a whole year.

Firstly I agree with kreatyve about the zen prices.

Secondly, you may feel $30 dollars for a mount is too high, but if people are paying that much, which they seem to be, then it's not going to decrease.

I rewlly lost where this thread is trying to go, but imo cash out prices by itself, ehh lil steep. But factor you can easily "discount" or get for "free" via the exchange. All is fair really

Yes Rank 12 on day 1 will be nice and get a free key everyday for a year. Cause thats what, $100 for 1 year of Rank 12 VIP. thats actually not bad at all.

you have to buy 2 of the 6 month packs at 5100 zen each. so it will be 10200. If its the same prices as what the PC is. I have noticed Zen store items are cheaper on PC than xbox, at least some of them.

Nothing worse than everyone thinking they should be able to get everything everyone else has. You don't have to spend any money on this game just be smart and put some time into it. I have been playing since launch day on the xbox when it was 1/50 for zen and I have spent probably $150 the game because I can.

If you don't like the way things are setup then this game probably isn't for you, but currently there enough players playing that it doesn't matter what the minority thinks. Who wants a game where everyone has the same gear, mounts, companions? This isn't Destiny if you want that then please go somewhere else. I paid real cash for my Champions of the North Pack but paid diamonds for my Dragon Born Race Pack so it can be done both ways.

Get your professions up and start selling gemed gear and make 80k+ every sell and grind out dungeons you can do the pirate king in about 20 mins or less. Run CTA events and sell the rewards 30k+ a sell.

Most people just want to complain!

i was just stating as what the zen terms are. doesnt matter how you get it. And for you to get hostile and aggressive and tell people to go away cause they spend money is HAMSTER. Just let people be and let people enjoy and play the game without attacking them. No you dont have to spend money on this game and i know lots who havent spent a penny, and i know lots who have spent money. Its just a matter of what you choose. So let people choose and let them be and dont fault them cause of their choices.

And everyones gonna complain and scream for things. Whether they get what they want or not. Its a sad story. Scream to get something, scream when you get it cause its too much. No one is ever happy. Its best to just leave things alone. The best things are left unsaid. Its a great game. Lets enjoy it.

I am glad they lengthened the time it will take to get to 70, and added Mythic and made that take awhile to attain. Just makes the game much more interesting. The game is about grinding. Thats what D&D is all about.. LOL. Not getting the best and baddest items and then walk away. Where is the enjoyment in that? True D&D players understand, and i bet they arent the ones complaining, its the new generation unfortunately that doesnt understand true D&D. Some of these people should try playing paper D&D sometime. No offense to the community, but i imagine about 70% would walk away from playing a paper D&D game if they didnt get their way.

Fixed that for you. lol. Grass aint greener on the other side, though the paywall might be less elsewhere, especially if the competition decides to put something together out there that has a lower avg anticipated annual payment per paying player.

Right now there isn't any competition really (imo); I love this game. ESO was a possibility but it just isn't in the same league (imo). I gaurantee competitors have taken notice though.

yeah, but competitors will not have Wizards of the Coast/ Forgotten Realms behind them. which is the true D&D
