The reason the game gets patched on Thursday is so that if something goes epically wrong with a patch, the team can come in on Friday to hopefully get things fixed so a major issue doesn't ruin the fun for folks all weekend long.

Well something went epically wrong. A change made to the patch is causing serious framerate issues with a large number of people. It is extremely unstable in the Stonghold area as well as most others and the game gets very choppy when doing just about anything and gets progressively worse until you have to restart the game. I along with many others am sensitive to a choppy framerate to the point that it makes me feel at first uncomfortable and eventually ill if I keep playing it. I invested in a very expensive video card so I don't normally run into any issues like that.

Unfortunately all we got from the dev team about this problem was Strum at least coming in and saying they were looking into it. This makes me really sad as our guild had big plans this weekend and many of us wont be playing much now that this problem wasn't addressed. This is of course another in a long line of major issues being left to fester in the game driving more and more folks away due to the unprofessional way these things get handled.

Luckily for me though, another game that is also in Beta testing just opened to everyone this weekend. So like the devs I'm sure are doing, I'll be playing a different game. Haven't played a FPS in a while, but Black Ops III is one seriously polished Beta. Unlike NWO where I get an average framerate of 23fps, I get over 150fps with every bit of modern eye candy turned all the way up from a company that understands how PVP is supposed to work.

If you are like me and won't be playing NWO this weekend due to the problems its having, head over to Steam and give the beta a go before it's over. You will probably have a lot more fun.
