Guild Cap question?

bratleyraybratleyray Member Posts: 389 Arc User
Hello, I am a member of The Kings and Queens of Neverwinter guild. We currently have/had 4000 members. It appears as tho Arc is removing players from our ranks? Even after they announced in June they wouldn't remove members. Is anyone else having these issues? Is it really Arc doing this? Or is it just people accidently leaving then complaining because they can't get back in with the current cap? We have even gone as far as creating 3 more sister guilds for people who have been kicked to join after they get removed. Would like some official clarification on this please. This has many members worried they are gonna get booted and we are happy where we are at...

So from what i understand arc is removing 25 members a day until our membership count is down to 500... Why is this happening? They told us no one would be removed, that we would be grandfathered in at our current amount.

Will someone please look into this and verify if and why this is happening?

I have not heard anything about them removing members. My guess would be that the people are either quitting, or someone in your guild is kicking them out.

That's what I thought as well and I've spoke to the officers and the guild leader and they claim that is not happening. That it's arc removing them... I guess 4,000 members is to many for strongholds... and would give us an unfair advantage when we get it... I will get on our page and see if anyone has contacted support to verify it is in fact arc...

There is no way that PWE or Cryptic would remove players from a guild. That would be totally unprofessional of them. Please have someone contact support.

Thank you for your time kreatyve... I hope you are right and this is just a big misunderstanding. I will see what I can do and have them contact support.

Well, after losing over 300 members in less than a week, our leader and officers decided it was best to just cut our membership down to 400. We now have five guilds, all allied with kings and queens of neverwinter. Im not sure who to point the finger at, but many of us are very disappointed in the game developers for this unannounced action. We all feel this was necessary to do it this way rather than people being picked at random and booted. Hopefully the active members that were cut have relocated to one of our allied guilds and didnt take them being cut personally. SMH

Why we you want a guild with that many people anyway? There's no contest for the largest guild, to my knowledge, so what's the point? Not trying to sound hateful, I truly just don't understand the point or use of having that many people in one guild.
  • bratleyraybratleyray Member Posts: 389 Arc User
For many reasons actually. One, it gave everyone, no matter what time zone they are in a vast selection of people to group with for dungeons, quests, and skirmishes any time of the day. It also enabled many groups to work with. With most groups needing one type of class or another, it allowed for more options. If for instance there were 5 sw's on, should they all be in the same group? No, that would make no sense. But one in five different groups would. Another reason being strongholds.... the reason they made the cap to begin with... with that many members it would make it much easier to complete. The reason for wanting that many members isn't the point. The point is they said they wouldnt do this and they did. Also, why not? If they have a cap and we reached it as im sure others did as well, why not just leave it be? Why remove members with no reason or explanation? Final reason, maybe because we wanted to... why do you go for a high gear score when its not necessary? Why do people make millions of AD? Because they want to...Maybe thats how we roll...I also find your comment pushing the edge of trolling. So take your useless comment and lack of info/help elsewhere. would you complain if items you gained were missing each day from your inventory? Thought so.... same thought process applies here. Many of us had friends removed and now with the cap they cant get back in.

I wasn't trying to seem rude at all. I just did not understand why any ONE guild would want 5000 people in it. I find it hard to believe that you need 5000 people just to form a decent FIVE person group. Prior to my guild quitting, we had 200 people in it, where AT LEAST 60 were on at all times. So if we could make perfect groups with 200 people guild, why would you want/need 5000.

I was never saying having a guild that large is wrong/dumb/stupid or anything else. I was just asking what the point of having one that large was.

So you can take your hating comment and shove it. Due to that comment I truly hope YOU are the next one kicked out of the guild and YOU can no longer join one. You need to check yourself before making wild accusations you sorry Sack of Manure.

I am sure with the cap they will let them back in and removed someone else that is not a friend. Just gotta communicate with them and ask. I think you are really taking this all wrong. But its cool, its just a game. Maybe they could of contacted the guild leader and asked him or her who they wanted to remove and worked with them. Its just a matter of communication. I dont see how Patsfire was pushing things or trolling. I would say your response was a bit hostile. But i can understand you getting defensive on the matter.

See, that's the problem blindmonkeyz... we had to remove 3500 members to fall below the cap in order to invite old members back that had been removed by whom ever. I believe the new threshold for guilds is 150 accounts and 500 members/toons. Yes, I am a little hostile over this, imagine logging on after investing lots of time with guildies to find you've been removed from the guild and not being able to get back in. patsfire, you need to chill bro... your comment previously WAS on the verge of trolling. Nothing you stated or questioned was even valid to my post. You questioned my/our motives without any insight to the initial problem. Your second post even backs up my statement by your lack of respect and down right rude comments. Why did you even leave a comment if you aren't experiencing these issues within your guild or can offer no information or solution? Nothing I responded with was hateful, disrespectful, or rude. Maybe next time you come across a thread in the forums, you try reading it and continue on to the next one if it doesn't make sense to you or you don't have an answer for...

We have had lots of communication from within the guild and from previous members. That's why we created new homes for them. They were moved, members were dropped, new guilds were created. But the question still remains, why did the game developers do this to begin with? Especially after posting they wouldn't....

I personally like big, active guilds. Small active ones can be great but hinge on just a couple of personalities to hold it together & if/when they move on the guild usually falls apart - big ones can have a life of their own, especially with active guild forums etc, as long as they keep encouraging people to communicate & weed out those who don't play any more.

I can't understand why there's not a proper log of joiners & leavers that you can search through to find the event - one that shows if someone was kicked and who by. NW is so abysmally basic on many fronts.

Submit a ticket & see if you get a useful reply from Cryptic, it would be useful if you can come up with a couple of examples giving gamertags, dates & time-frames as there's a slim possibility they actually have admin logs...

I totally agree with every point you made armadeonx... my feelings as well. I already instructed the guild leader and officers to file a ticket providing that exact information. I never heard anything back from them as far as them receiving a response. My assumption is they never received one...

Thank you for offering a possible solution and staying on topic, much appreciated.

My money is on someone inside the guild booting people they do not like. If you have a Guild that Large, you are bound to have personality conflicts.

Also, the Grandfather only covers the 150 accounts.

Your guild is considered to be grandfathered into the system, keeping all 150+ accounts. Note, they did not mention Characters. This may be some of what you were seeing.

I spoke to @StrumSlinger about this. Neither PWE or Cryptic have been removing players from guilds. Period. So either someone is kicking people, or people are leaving on their own.

Mrwilsonva, it says 150+, meaning anything over 150, the new cap. But regardless, as kreatyve has pointed out its not pwe or cryptic. I guess my original assumption was correct and its internal. Thanks kreatyve...

Next question would be is who pissed off who in the guild to do this. But thats an internal thing. Happy gaming. Enjoy
