Influence Bug - Workaround

I see a lot of people still saying they arent getting influence from HE's. Our guild has identified the problem... and we have a workaround.

We have no problem getting all 400 influence points as long as we stick to SMALL HEROIC ENCOUNTERS while we are earning it. It seems the medium and large HE's are still bugged when you try to collect the reward, and often times take more than one "click" to get it. Each time you click to collect (Or press ctrl-F) it counts against the influence counter... as if you were completing an HE each time you click, but you never get the actual reward.

Example... you do a small HE and get 150 influence... then you do a large one, but it takes 4 clicks to get the reward to show... you will get 20. If you had to click 5 times, you would get nothing.

The workaround for this bug is simple. Only do SMALL HEROIC ENCOUNTERS while you are earning your 400 influence until they get this fixed. Once you get your influence... do all the medium and large ones you want for the drops and RP's.

    That's what we've been doing.. knocking out the 5+ HEs to get Influence, then all ganging up on the 15+ HEs to get cool prizes.

    I have heard something about, going to a different map when you can't claim your reward, and try that. I don't know for sure if it works, as the servers crashed just before I was going to go test it.

    Had 2 other Guildmates with me this morning, did ONLY the small HE's (7 of them) not one of us got anything but rank 5's. No Influence at all.

    Were you still under the 20 hour cooldown? They have not made it reset at a specific time yet. So each character has to wait 20 hours from the time you earned influence last before you can earn any again.

    Oh yes... we do the runs the same time every morning.. give or take a few mins... at LEAST 20 hrs. in between, and not always with the same toons, yesterday my GWF did the run, today my OP did it so...

    *shrugs* Well... ok... so what I posted is a workaround if you can get influence... at all.

    Although, sometimes it does seem rather hit-or-miss...

    We got all the Influence yesterday.. it was just today that we didn't. I will Try again with my HR..I have not played him in days. TY ALL.

    I'll be honest - this is the sort of thing that happens when you try to do things unnecessarily complicated, and don't have the resources to test it properly.

    Seriously, what would have been the harm in having this reset during the daily reset, and what would have been the harm in coding it so that you get, say 150 for the first one, 100 for the second, and then 50 for all others till you hit 400 for the day? The 150, 125, 75, 50 whatever is not needed. Or, 50 for each large, 25 for each medium, 10 for smalls....and be done with it at 400.

    Cryptic is very careful in protecting their interests and test for things that affect their income and will take down a server if something goes haywire to patch it. For stuff that affects core progression of their newest module and wastes the time and patience of their entire player base? Yea not so much. Its usually up to us to come up with these workarounds while they sip mai tais by the pool.

    I'm 100% so far on 4 characters (1600 Influence total for the day)... working on #5.

    The other thing I've noticed.. if the "Collect Reward" box doesn't blink, or only blinks once.. don't try to open it.

    As Cryptic stated... it is 20 hours from the INITIAL earning of influence. If you do it every day around the same time... you will end up a few hours behind the 8 ball, so to speak.

    Our work around is sound.

    I ran some HEs with my CW... who's CD I am not sure of... and I made 0 Influence. Even though I ran my last HE about 24 hours before. None of us know, without a CD timer when we are able to get more Influence. It will always be a guessing game.

    My suggestion is to figure out when your CD is up... and run it then... until Cryptic either gives us a timer or they make the reset at 3 am server time. OR... you can continue to whine about it because you don't know how it works.​​

    Leaving the map before you claim any of your rewards works - it doesn't let it fail at claiming the rewards. I claimed all mine in PE rather than on the Strongholds map and got all my influence.

    Last night we did a bunch of different sizes of HEs in SH. I was able to hit Ctrl+f and get my reward from large and small... on the first click. Maybe it was a rare occurrence... who knows.​​

    Getting influence is a big PITA :s Dozen of problems like no getting influence at all with alters, more than 5 clicks to get the reward and, pardon me, why 20 hours restart timer? Why no a typical, like all other daily quests, restart? :s

    I've run 25 HEs today with 5 different characters. All small HEs, walked away with 2k Influence.

    I waited until I was through with all the HEs for a particular character, and back at the keep before I did the CTRL+F.

    Now that the grind for Influence for the GH L3 is done, I'm not so much worried about it, but it was really nice to get all my rewards.

    30 HEs with 6 characters, 100% Influence. All 5+ HEs.
