Neverwinter Server sending excessive packets to my computer

so the neverwinter server sent 30 million packets to my computer that basicly shut down my whole house for 20-30 mins today (basicly a DDOS attack) closing the game does not help the issue as the server continues to send me files. its not my computer (i have a good gaming computer 3.8Ghz 6 core processor, 4GB graphics, 16GB RAM) nor is it my internet (i ran a trace to see what was sending/receiving) any idea how to stop this? cause i cant play or use my internet when i log in which means i cant use my VIP that i paid real money for this is actually ridiculous how does a bug like this even happen? please fix it or refund my money for the in game items i cant use cause of in game issues

i have tried on demand on and off it made no difference its been installed and re-installed on 4 different computers and my account but no others have this problem the files are writing to the neverwinter install location (my steam directory) i have also tried running the game through arc on a re-install but made no difference with that either.
i know they wont refund me i was just really upset i missed out on a guild run of stronghold dragons where we actually killed most of them and i let the team down causing us to not be able to finish them all
