CW PvE Build, AOE or Single Target?

Hey All,

I am starting a CW for the first time and want to know which is really the better option, AOE or Single Target. I have a build in mind for both already, so I am just wanting your take on the which is better for PvE. I get that Single Target is for the boss killers and AOE is more crowd control for trash and elite mobs, but I have run with some pretty insane AOE CWs that seem to decimate the Boss just as quick as they take out the mobs without a TR in to help, so this seems the route I would like to go, but I haven't seen many single target CWs yet and maybe that is a superior route to go.

    This is actually the place I went for the build I was going to use =P

    Fantastic bit of information, I'm just stuck trying to pick between AOE or Single Target.

    CWs are usually better in AoE.

    If you want more single target power, you can use focused wizadry feat.

    I run spellstorm/thaum with high vizier 18k Cw I can played with everything. Renegade/Thaum/fire. Renegade is great for groups i only choose thuam again recently for tiamat and limited time due to work outside the game so solo a lot and thaum hits harder for that dungeon.

    I will always recommend AOE over single and thats not to say single is not fun I just like the kite ability on mass mobs. Ultimately you will find what fits you.

    My rotation is shield (can be swapped for conduit of ice) use chilling cloud to draw mobs in (freaken white dragon cultists), icy terrain, after lock down, sudden storm, more chill strike and right when terrain is about up, and steal time to stun. Icy terrian should be around again. Timing gets good can lock things down very well. Also you can run into a group of mobs and just drop icy (dungeons) (recovery 2.5- 3k is important). Features are eye of the storm/storm spell (will miss my storm spell post mod 6).

    Its a really fun class and hope you enjoy it. My gammer tag is @zalorus (cw is zolus)if you have any questions Tc and enjoy. And please do not put shield in mastery slot. Drives me crazy...lol

    SS renegade is the only choice ATM if you want to maximise your Effectiveness

    It is good for a group setting. (Love renegade, not the only option). Does not hit as hard as thaum for solo play. Again to answer the op= AOE
