Feedback Request: Anointed Faithful Build

obsidiancran3obsidiancran3 Member Posts: 1,823 Arc User
Hi All,

Hopefully the build doesn't disintegrate when I link it, but this is the spec I am considering and I'd love some feedback on it.

I'm hoping the passives will let me be flexible with buffs & healing while the core Faithful will provide large amounts of healing for the party (to help cover my high base ping); yes Gift of Haste works with this build despite what the Faithful capstone says.

Build Here: Link
Obsidian Moonlight - Paladin
Obsidian Oath - Warlock
A whole lot of other Obsidian toons as well.

I like it, i would probably still try to get one point into cleanse. Even after the nerf being able to clear DoT's is helpful. Especially in PVP where some of the DoT's can be pretty brutal (Fire of the Gods/Brand of the Sun comes to mind :-))

Its ok my DC will likely never see PVP.

The points in virtuous are wasted are they not? None of your heals apply a HoT effect once you spec into the faithful health pool. If you're looking for a solid pve build I could link you mine. It's an AC beast healing build. :)

As I said above Gift of Haste works (this may be a bug, but it does work)

I still wouldn't use that build personally. I'm more of the reactive type of healer and like to be in control. Instead of relying on the o HAMSTER heals from the faithful line.

I feel that AC works better with the virtuous line. I also think that the virtuous line is our best pure healing line. It has the best healing passives we can bring to the table. And they're almost always active. Throw in a few points into justice for the army daily and AP gain and boom. Healing/buff master healing race.

Well I'd love more concrete direction. :)

The build you pick also depends on the stats you have, if you for example have 20k power and 10k critical you can be a virtuous cleric and your heal over times become burst heals, with the added benefit of the "Gift of Haste" feat. If you have those stats you can probably be a full heal bot with righteous even. I think faithful is great for casual alts (and PVP I heard but I don't PVP) , but if you want to take it to the next level you might want to experiment with the other paths.

Have a look at your heals you are doing to parties, are you over healing ? Then allocate points else where. If you are over healing then you are wasting it, unlike damage you can have too much healing. I would max out "Daunting Light and "Flame Strike" over "Healer's Lore" even. I have been in parties where I was playing my alt, and the cleric was a faithful, I have yet encounter a situation where they are not doing enough healing regardless of what their stats were.

Does the "Have Faith" feat work for the faithful capstone ? Also I assume you are not too concerned about soloing and dps, but I would go for "Astral Fury" over "Have Faith", I would even consider taking "Righteous Suffering" over another healing bonus feat. Soloing is important, even if you are not likely to die, you don't want to take 5 minutes to take down a polar bear.

I'm only in a t1 set with rank 5 enchants, as a tertiary character to my OP main and SW secondary she is mostly there for "we need a healer" for t1s (though technically she can enter t2s). She has enough DPS to run the SH weak HEs without any trouble and can run Sharandar and Dread Ring fine as well, as neither of those campaigns are finished I'm not to worried about IWD. :)

If I am going to change something for Have Faith it will be Battle Fervour, anything else means loosing the Gift of Haste benefit. I have to check Have Faith's functionality.

Oh and having clicked the link; ignore all the Rank 4 powers, nwncalc keeps moving points there at the cost of any points allocated to the last 2 tiers. :(

    Is Hastening Light worthwhile?

Hastening Light doesn't work at rank 4, so it's better to leave it at 3rd.

On the boons, I would advice you always pick the stamina gain boons, having that extra shift can at the right time save your life and possibly even a party wipe. As someone already mentioned "Hastening Light" level 4 is broken, I would max "Divine Glow" instead, for parties this is should be your most commonly used encounter.

Also you mentioned the "Gift of Haste", I am a bit confused here, I assume that the link you posted is the build you want to go for, if you want the faithful path then you cannot have the "Gift of Haste"

Actually you can, Gift of Haste does work with a Faithful spec, I know this because my current live build has it and it procs and grants appropriate AP gain.

Depending on how you play, I would remove the 5 points in Test of Faith and put them in Chaplain's Strength or United By Faith instead. If the tank does his job properly, you won't be taking any damage in dungeons, therefore you'll be getting nothing from this feat. I ran a combat log analyser after several runs of ECC and this proved to be the case.

However, if you PvP, then you'll probably get more mileage from this feat.

Its useful when things go wrong from time to time as a buffer to keep you up for a moment longer.

Thanks for the feedback folks, I did listen and I did a bit of perusing of the Temple and ended up with a dedicated Virtuous build. So far seems to be working ok, but no major testing yet.
