Speed/movement upgrades for your slow mounts?

danaswansondanaswanson Member Posts: 87 Arc User
Hi all,

Since I first saw the prized pig mount a year or so back I wanted one sooooo bad, he looked so cute!. Now that I have a few mounts that travel at fast speeds it makes me wish there was some type of speed/movement upgrade available for the slower mounts in the game.

If the developers were to consider such an upgrade at some point I would be fine purchasing some type of mount speed upgrade via zen. It would be a great quest to get one without having to pay zen but I just don't see this happening.

I'm getting paranoid that I'm going to get caught by the guard buying black market methamphetamines for my adorable prized pig mount. Plus he now has formed a habit. :)

But they are a TERRIBLE investment. Not trying to be negative, its a fact, just worthy it if you are a real entusiast of your mount.

Edit: What seens to be the case. :)

I do love my little piggy but I'll have to check what it will cost to upgrade.

It costs more than buying a top grade zen market account wide purple mount.

That is pretty crazy. I remember when I first started playing Neverwinter I saved up for my first mount for a very long time (more than a year). When I purchased my mount from the mount vendor it was so nice not walking everywhere. After a while of playing I figured I would buy some zen. I purchased the Purple Unicorn which went great with my purple armor. :)

Are you serious? Are you talking about the mount you can buy from PE? One year? You should have 5 gold (I think 5 gold) in about one month.

By the way, I did think about upgrading the PIG I got in the summer festival 2014. No, I did not do it for the obvious reason. :)

I have a very good feeling the cost of mount upgrades were set that way to make zen mounts highly more attractive.

Though I certainly would love to see the mount training manuals set to more of an affordable price. There are lots of nice event mounts but they just sit in the bank due to the cost of upgrading. There are even nice looking zen store mounts but aren't worth purchasing since they aren't 110% speed. I like to go fast, though now they have even faster mounts.. that aren't affordable :|

Slash the price of Mount Training Manuals 90%. Sales will skyrocket!

I agree. there is no reason why the full upgrade process should cost more then a purple mount. But...I suppose that putting things in game as AD purchases probably don't net as much in sales as making them cash shop exclusive. thus a purple mount will most likely be bought from the cash shop first...since most people are looking for a balance between accessibility and personal preference.

What bugs me is that the mounts are account wide...but companions are not. both being QoL enhancements of similar results, you'd think they would be more fair and equitable about it.

... from green to purple: 2 million AD. For one single mount. Outrageous.

But I'll do that (eventually, ever-delayed project) with the panther I got for my halfling HR...

I actually upgraded my Sunite Steed for my DC of Sune. 2 million (400k + 1600k) AD hurt, especially because I did it the day b4 they closed Leadership on Gateway. I wouldn't have made the purchase if I had known the future..... At the same time, she looks glorious. I had the mount since the first summer event, and it took a long time to finally bite the bullet

Yes and no. Individual companion is not account wide. Those within the package are.
