New To Neverwinter. Just hit 60 and have some questions

Hello All,

I am brand new to Neverwinter and just started playing it on my One last weekend. I got my GWF up to 60 and I can't say enough how in love with this game I am. There is so much fun stuff to do, and with the release of the 4 mods coming later, this game just feels so endless. It's a great feeling.

However, I do have some questions I was hoping some of you vets could answer. I understand that at 60 Tier 1 epic dungeons become available. Once you get to a certain gear score you gain access to tier 2 epics. My question is, does your GS increase with the use of epic enchanments, similar to the common and rare ones I have found thus far? I know you can refine them to make them better and better, but is this what starts the roll of increasing GS? Also, I am a bit confused about legendaries. Forgive me for being so green, but I am familiar more with games like the Diablo series, where Legendaries were dropped items. Is that the same way to obtain them now, or do you increase your epic gear to such extent that they then become legendary.

As far as the new content is concerned, how will this effect my ability to complete my current campaign, or will it at all? I would hate to be in the workings to complete what I have started to have it eradicated with the introduction of new (old) content.

Thank you in advance!

buy a set of T2 armor off the auction house for an immediate and LARGE boost. You can probably get the entire set for less than 40k. You do not upgrade your gear. It is what it is. (you can add armor fortification kits, but that's a different subject and doesn't greatly impact your stats)

Enchantments go up in ranks to Rank 10 right now. They do not drop at that level. The highest drop is Rank 5 from Shores and Lostmouth, Rank 4 everywhere else. You have to refine your way up or buy them at 10. Enchantments upgrade your GS for every point they add (except for HP, which is a different calculation). If you have a Dark, Rank 8 on, which gives 185 Armor Pen, your GS will go up by 185. Movement from Utility slots doesn't increase GS.

You'll always be able to complete this campaign. It doesn't get shut off.

Don't get wrapped up in the gearscore mentality!!! As a cleric, I'm still using T1 gear because it has the best set bonus (shred 10% of enemy's defense with each hit), and my CW is using High Vizier for essentially the same bonus, even though I have plenty of AD and there is armor with better stats are out there.

    Lastly.. welcome to 60!

The legendary items are artifact items (belts, cloaks, main and off hand items). Those you will have to refine to increase their level. You can refine them with stone or feed them other level 60+ items.
    Signature under construction, stay tuned.

    A couple of notes:

Make sure you take the Rhix quests every day for AD.
Do pvp - even with T2 gear, you prob wont have the AD for high enough enchantments yet so consider using the Glory you earn to also purchase PvP armor - you can also buy an artifact there for 24k Glory.
Research your class (GWF) and find the ideal stat balance (i.e. power/crit/ArP etc) rather than try to figure it out as you go.
Check with Lord Neverember for daily quests - they turn up 2 or 3 times a week I think - that'll give you extra AD.
Keep on top of the Campaign progress as you need to unlock Shores of Tuern for skirmishes and head toward the Tiamat window.
Professions - I'd focus on Jewellery Crafting for now - you can make your own personalised rings after a few weeks work, they are far superior to anything you can buy.
Artifact belts are really cheap at the moment - get one and level it but make sure it's right for your class. I'd hazard a guess at the Black Ice one but I'm not the best person to advise on GWF's.
Artifacts in general will become a big focus for you - they are much more powerful than ordinary items - the purpose of doing Tiamat is to get artifact weapons & gear but please wait til you're above 13k GS before going in; You'll be more successful, won't get shouted at and won't feel guilty at negatively affecting the group you're in.

    hope that helps

I don't know how much I would refine any artifact equipment right now. I say that because next month it will be obsolete and even if you refine that gear into the new stuff you will only get 40% of its value. You in my opinion would be better off saving any refining stones for the soon to come new gear and get the full value of it.

I also agree with the earlier post don't get caught up with gs. Focus on the STATS that make your character better. You as a GWF definitely want your arm pen/RI to be at 24%. However that cap is also going up next month as well. Study character builds! Nothing worse than spending a bunch of time (like I did) with your first character get to 60 and realize that you built him or her wrong. Then you spend diamonds for a respec.....

Get your campaign done as quickly as possible. Get shores and LOL. Do your best to get your daily diamond quests done. Free diamonds is a good thing.

Another good piece of advice I can give would be either find a guild with members you are comfortable with or start one with your friends and run with them. There are several immediate benefits for joining a guild and several long term ones.

If you ever want to run hit me up and congrats on hitting 60.

You guys have all been a huge help! I got my feet on the floor with all tier 1/2 epics and have been taking full advantage of this double seals bonus. Sitting on roughly 260k RAD. Just have to wait for the 24h mark to hit so I can exchange the silly 24k a day.
