What is collection score for?

I've noticed when you own more than one piece in a collection (for example when looking in a campaign store) the collection score goes up the more items you get. As far as I can tell having a higher collection score lets you assign yourself a title in your description (?). Is this all a collection score does for you?

    Actually I don't see the point about this collection system score, if they do nothing with it or with the achievments score for me it's just a waste of dev ressources that they could use on other things-content.

    You get the information how you get the item and it has this small rewarding feeling to complete a collection.
    Of course i would like to see more rewards (not only titles) but simply running different dungeons/skirmish/dailies/whatevrt and get the collection done is valid option to continue playing.

    Are there other Collection Hunter? And how high is your score?
