Purified elemental black ice armor

Hello,

I wanted to start playing pvp to get the elemental burning pvp gear.
But first i was trying to get some black ice blue gear from bis before starting pvp.
So i made the purified elemental black ice armor with itemlv 122,and i replaced my current armor with it that was itemlv 120...i switched my enchantments but it lowered my total itemlv instead of raising it?

It's only 8 points but.....why?

Different stats give different weights and il depending on your class. I would not really pay attention too much to it. If you are performing better that is all that really matters. For instance if you go from crit gear to gear that is heavy in Recovery but has higher IL on a TR your total Ilevel will decrease as Crit is valued more in IL than Recovery. Better yet try taking a level 10 crit Enchants and Replace it with a level 12 Recovery on a TR and see what happens to your total Ilevel. Even though it has a higher IL it will still bring your overall down. IL does not take into account play style or personal customized specialty builds. It is just a pre-made score based on weighted stats that they think is important. Perfect example was the INT rouges of old. They would have had Garbage for IL but it was a specialty build to stay perma stealth that was highly effective.
