The easiest method I found is to use Hoards on all utility slots (about 8% drop myself) and save the drops until 2x refinement. This works best of course if your landing the final blow a lot (CW/TR/HR/SW) and not as well if your a tank or healer.
Of course identify any blue items and apply them to the right gear for the 2x bonus helps.. I don't bother with most greens though as I find it burns through scrolls to fast to be sustained for to little gain.
