Horrible lag today and now cannot get in

Since the patch today the lag has been terrible. I was in game a short while ago and constantly had server issues. I logged out and now cannot log back in. Anyone else having this problem?

    It's probably the millions of bots that are in-game now due to leadership being taken out of gateway. I've been trying to get in and do my professions their way for an hour and a half.

    Assuming that is true, how in the world could TPTB fail to anticipate that?

    Having the same problem - have not been able to log in the last hour +. I thought it was the crappy hotel internet connection at first, but if other people are experiencing the same thing, maybe not.

    Also experiencing server lag. Can barely move a few steps before I get a "Failure connecting to game server" message. Have not experienced anything like this since I started playing 2 months ago.

    Maybe the devs will notice this thread and do something about it.

    They just tweeted that they are having some issues with the shards. They are investigating it.

    It would be interesting to see exactly how server load has changed since the patch, and if this was the cause of the connection issues?

    Although whenever there is a patch, or server maintenance, there seems to be a spike of lag before and after it for some reason.

    Gee, I wonder what could be causing this - maybe it's the massive influx of bots that are now logging in game?

    Its just normal by now to have this issue after every patch...but the bots don't help much.

    This is the problem. The professional botters are now just running leadership ingame. Only the legitimate players have been hurt by this change. Cryptic will never learn. Well maybe in a few weeks when no plays anymore.
