Why can;t I sell certain gear through the Auction House...

My HR has a blue Cloak of Black Ice and when I try to put it up for action it says that I "cannot sell". This and other items are greyed out. My GWF has the same cloak and can put it up for auction. Am I missing something?

If you've equipped it you cannot sell it. I believe that certain items are also bound upon pick up. If you grabbed those out of a particular chest, you cannot sell those as well. It should actually tell you on the tool-tip if this is the case.

Yes I guess it does answer the question. My GWF is too low to have equipped hers. So to be clear, if I try to equip and it prompts me with a warning (can't sell blah blah blah once equipped) then those items can't be sold even if unequipped.

Thanks for the quick response. Any suggestions what to do with these types of items? Salvage for the artifact cloak is $1000 AD.

Items that say Bound (character) or Bound (account) cannot be sold. If bound to account it means you can put it in your shared bank and transfer between characters. Bound to character can't be transferred.

Salvage or refine. You can use an artifact to salvage another artifact for some extra refinement points.

Refine it. Salvaging any artifact equipment is a waste

correct. As for the suggestion? artifact items are highly sought after in end game. Why wouldn't you equip them and level them up? If it's not the "right" artifact item your class is looking for, you can sell it. Never equip an item unless you plan on using it. If you made that mistake, the best course of action is to hold onto it and use it as refinement on the correct artifact piece that you'll actually use. It's bonus refinement. Don't salvage anything other then junk purples.
