How To Tiamat

It seems most people are familiar with how to handle Tiamat. I've run 7 so far but not done it yet. Came close but no cigar. Found this guide that's from the PC version but should work as well on the Xbox One.

It's only been just short of a day since release. I'm sure people will get th hang of it soon. It's not going anywhere so there's no rush.

I would like to add just one thing to that guide. Generally on PC, we go for the Black head first, not the Green. Get Black to 5%, then Green to 5%, then red to 5% (or however far down we have time for on that first wave).

Managed to defeat Tiamat a couple of times today. Looks like most people know what they're doing already. But yeah...Black Head First seems to be right. Not had anything decent drop yet but it'll come.

I've swapped some powers around so I've got some good knockback for when defending the clerics. The only issue I've found is that not enough people defend the central cleric.

Not sure if it's different on Xbox to PC but the heads seem to respawn with 25% health so it's not worth getting them down much further than this.

If you get them down to like 10% they should respawn with 10%, but if you get them down any lower than that, they respawn with 25%. It's all about finding just the right time to stop. Sometimes on PC people still mess it up.

yea you want them between 25 and 10%...no lower. best to stop when it hits that last mark on the HP bar (25% I think) and dots and such will eat another 5% or so generally

Another thing I've noticed and want to add is that everyone can pick up a dragon soul gem once the summoner is defeated. I think people either think there's only one or don't want the responsibility. Pick one up!!! Once you've defeated the summoner make sure you pick up the gem and equip it to your potion tray! If it's the black or white dragon gem then use this after the black or white dragon breath. If it's the green, red or blue then use it just before as a shield.

The first couple of times I ran Tiamat, there were people screaming "don't take the soul gems unless you know how to use them." I know this led me to believe that they were limited, and until I read I guide that specifically explained them (unlimited, but can only have one in your inventory) I absolutely didn't touch them for fear of HAMSTER up the raid.

The gems are kind of key to keep people from dying during the zerg (be that everyone on one head or well-mixed groups on all five) yes, but so many don't use them or use them incorrectly, they've not learned yet? I've also noticed that even when drawing off the clerics (if anyone but me is) they don't aggro them far enough away and the dragon breath circles still hit the clerics anyway.

Bottom line. Averages. You have six minutes roughly to bring down 2.5 dragon heads to 15%ish in the first round - 85%, 85%, 42%. You have six minutes roughly to bring down 2.5 dragon heads to 15%ish in the second round - 42%, 85%, 85%. You have six minutes roughly to bring down 5 heads to 0% in the third round, 15%*5.

If that average isn't kept (say 10 minutes to get first npc clerics going) a lot of players are going to stop trying.

Your gear score doesn't matter. But if you can't aggro, don't use gems and don't do DPS, you aren't any help, go boost your stats or respec or watch some videos. And dear lord please stop spamming nonsense in zone chat!
