Need a little help

cmason249cmason249 Member, NW M9 Playtest Posts: 6 Arc User
Howdy everyone. I'm looking for a little help with my build. Currently I am running MI/Sab with all offense slots with radiants and all defense slots with silveries (all R7s because free player). Generally, I play with smoke bomb, impact shot, and ITC slotted as encounters and tenacious concealment and... well... cant remember the name of the other passive. The one that adds piercing damage... the level 70 one. This is my PVP set up. I am [/i]fair[/i] at the play style, ie. attack from behind for stealth refills etc. 79k HP without companions.

What I am looking for is a bit more survivabilty vs other TRs. I dont do terribly, perhaps it is that I am a free player and have yet to be able to maximize my gear/stats (2.19k IL)? At any rate, is another path better for TR vs TR? WK/Sab or Scoun maybe? Just thought I'd ask. Thanks for the help.

You are not much lower, iL wise, than my TR is for the same reason. I am playing a Wk Sab because I have a hard time with the concept of the whole MI path. I used to play Wk Exec but that was not working for me in this Mod.

It is a geared, patient or skilled TR that can have a lot of kills vs deaths, but I do not like that way. I die a lot, I kill a little bit less, but I score my HAMSTER off for the team. I am the annoying bug that buzzes around your head... that if given the right opportunity will kill you. I will have the occasional double digit kill match with few deaths if it is what I need to do.

I have a few questions for you.
1. How do you want to play vs how do you play?
2. Do the powers you use make you feel safe?
3. Do they work for you?
4. Do they influence how you play?

My encounters are this for PvP and I do change them from time to time. Smoke bomb, dropped from stealth as much as possible; Path of Blades, it helps reveal stealthed TRs and allows for annoyance from passive damage; Lashing Blade, from stealth as often as I can.
My at-wills have become Duelist Flurry and Sly Flourish for a reason. DF works on squishy targets and delivers a nice bleed effect. Sly Flourish helps with DR and will chew a GF and DC down faster than DF, it also helps reduce target DR for others.
My encounters vary, but are usually Whirlwind of Blades and Courage Breaker. Courage Breaker is nice for targets that move a lot. It ignores immunity and slows them to a crawl. Whirlwind allows you to hit as many targets around you as possible... increasing the damage with every hit.
I have been told to use Bloodbath or Lurker's Assault... but I do not like those.

If you like how your toon is... fine tune the rotation. I personally do not like IS since it does not do enough.

I either want CC, DoT or DPS.

Getting the Raven Skull PvP artifact will help a bit with your survivability... and learn when to use it. It is like nitro in a car, use it too early and you will die; use it at the right time and it is the difference between life and death.

People laugh at me when I am in the Trade of Blades because I am almost always on a Training Dummy... chewing it up.

I dont dislike the play style, however i do prefer melee. Right now I am mostly ranged attacks, CoS, IS (for attacks from behind to refill stealth - at a distance), etc. As of now I try to play as a harassment rather than a killer. It's fun enough, but I want to be able to kill stuff (I do, just not as much as I'd like) without being an Executioner build. I wouldn't mind trying out the perma-daze build, but I cant find a link to it anywhere. That seems to be an amazing anti-TR build (assuming the opponent doesnt run ITC).

I do remember that someone did recently say that they were a Scoundrel build... I do not remember who, though. Scoundrel tends to be a Deflect/CHA heavy build... nothing is wrong with that but with all the changes in M6 there are special considerations.

I believe that an MI Scoundrel build would be a potentially amazing build.

My Wk Sab build is based off of a MI Sab build... probably similar to yours. I use my at-wills much more than I use my Encounters, I think we all do. I have a ton of fun messing with people... and have accepted my fate when I die.

i played scoundrel build from the start of mod 6 up until yesterday when i decided to go a full pve MI exec build for more dps in epics. scoundrel is great for deflect, i had 52%. I rolled with smoke bomb, ITC and dazing strike for most pvp matches and together with my crit dazes, i could easily lock down one player.

The problem with the build comes with the lack of utilizing stealth. Your stealth meter doesnt refill as quickly as an Exec or Sab so you find yourself tanking a lot while out of stealth. Other TRs often bested me as most pvp TRs are Sab and i believe Sab is paper to scoundrel's rock. Piercing dmg is god vs deflect builds and my hp jus melted to stealth'd rogues with cos spam.
