Avoiding losses on record

Is this working as intended? People are "magically" not receiving losses by finding cunning ways to keep their record pristine. I've noticed multiple people on the top 10 boards doing this to "stay on top". Are people abusing the system in this way and should they be reported for doing so? Or should everyone hop on board and it's all good.

Anyways, props to those who don't do this and just take the loss, even if its because of undergeared teammates who lack knowledge or skill.
