Some suggestions to help mitigate the Vote-To-Kick problem

This is probably the one thing in this game that gives me so much aggravation that makes me consider quitting the game altogether. It is not so much the loss of loot but the utter selfishness, pettiness and greed that these people show towards another human being. It is really depressing. I don't need this in a game; I play for fun and the challenge and when this happens not only it takes that away but it leaves a bitter feeling that lingers for a while. To me, it is not worth it at all. Not even the risk of happening again, I much rather play any other game even it if isn't as fun. So I don't play any dungeon anymore unless I do it with people I trust, which is not all that often.

But I'd like to, I like the game. At the same time I understand that Vote-To-Kick (VTK) is necessary: Disconnected people, trolls, dramatically under geared/underperforming, etc. So, here are some suggestions to make this issue a little less painful.

I think it is safe to assume that almost all unfair VTKs happen because of loot, and not any loot just loot dropped by bosses. Some mitigation measures could be:

1) Disable VTK from the moment a boss fight begins to the moment last loot from that fight has been doled out. If it is the last boss, then disable VTKing until the instance is closed. Hopefully this will allow people that participated in the boss fight to have a fair chance at the loot dropped.
a. Consider disabling VTK altogether as long as a purple (or more) is present in an instance without an owner (dropped and not picked up or being rolled on). Often people VTK the odd-one out the moment they see the purple on the ground and before they pick it up.

2) Disable team invites if you VTK someone after the first boss. If you do you’ll be forced to get a random. This could help with the practice of kicking the odd one out to bring a friend right before the good loot.

3) After first or second boss fights someone can only VTK someone with 4 votes, no less. This will make it harder for teams of 3 do engage in this behavior since any one person can veto the VTK.

Obviously I don’t know the intricacies of VTK system and these suggestions may not be possible to implement, but… hey maybe they’ll help.

the VTK system is now worse than before they updated it, last night doing spellplauge during DD, i dropped into a PUG game at the start, now the first problem was the 5th player was getting constant DC then coming back for a min then going again..................after 10 mins of this i decided he needed to get kicked, then the healer decides hes leaving aswell (i guess it was hes friend) leaving a message good luck now knoobs lol, so we were left with 3 players only, for along time after beating the 1st mini boss we still had 3 players, i thought maybe the instance has been locked, because it dropped no one in for like 15 mins..................then it drops in two players the 4th player was fine, BUT the 5th kept gettin DC (i think) or kept leaving, it was a healer but the same healer kept dropping in then leaving after a min WTF, by this time we was almost near the end on the dungeon, finally a GWF drooped in right near the end and stayed, at this point i just wanted to finish the dam thing, i didnt care about a healer, first try at the boss was pretty bad i was the only player left lol................anyway i had to tank the ads on my 14.gs CW on the 2nd attempt, i let everyone know i was going to tank the ads and it went rather smooth.

Anyway my point is why does take so long to fill the group even during DD, we dont always need a healer.

Fwiw, I rarely PuG, when I do though IF anyone starts VTK on anything it signals to me people are kick happy and more focused on kicking and less on playing. At that point I just quit the group, and likely more people do the same. Not saying you are a boot looter, but maybe you don't see you might be perpetuating the problem you are saying is bad.

May I ask if you tried to start an xbox live party with the group or ask on mic if anyone knew the guy who was having connection problems? With him gone was the team having a hard time killing stuff? Was there any communication before your first attempt at the boss even in group chat?

My regular group has been finding the que takes a while to fill one or two players, but we assume the system is confused as we will do three and four CW groups. It has become faster for us to fill our team with randoms feom lfg chat. Also, many people are not doing as many dungeons with the drop in price of gear and farming the wod.

To the OP, you bring up good ideas that have been thrown out there a few times in the feedback thread. Unfortunately we as the player base need to adapt to the current game and not expect the devs to fix or deliver on promises.

Shoot me a PM here or on live @oox SNAP xoo if you want to run dungeons, I run groups daily and am of the non kick camp.
