I've seen two recent "builds" but they seem to focus mostly on healing in group play with very little damage.
Unfortunately Kaelec's guide doesn't really apply very well anymore.
Is there any such thing as a "hybrid" build?
Or must we be stuck at healing with poor DPS?
I'm using a DC based on Kaelec's mod 5 build and find soloing to be difficult. Either I have to buff/debuff to the point that it takes an eternity to kill anything (probably even worse than my OP), or do only group play.
I don't mind healing in a group.
I do mind having to go at a snail's pace, however.
Granted, that may be how it has to be in Mod6.
But maybe someone has some ideas, or maybe I need to completely respecc the character?
I'm sure there are some very good and experienced players out there. I've become resigned to the fact that every mod I will have to respecc to play how Cryptic wants us to play, but hoping there's some sort of hybrid out there?
Thank you

The Kaelac guide mentions the armour penetration cap to be around 25%, but with the new module you can allocate much more, others will say for a healer you don't need that, but if you are concerned about soloing then this one thing you should look at. The righteous path also provides the piercing light feat that provides a 10% damage reduction, for the old Kaelac guide this was useless, not so much any more.
otherwise, Faithful + gift of haste build for pvp..
Ive run virtuous first half of this mod.. its ok, all around, but lacks some of the survive tools that faithful provides. ITs not bad though.
Frankly, even a current righteous no longer a dps machine compared to just a gwf/cw type, I roll several alts, I farm with dps, then funnel stuff to the DC. Works out well.. just need around 2.2-2.4kish range on your alts, they can blow through most of the content in game that way.
But again, its up to what you want in the end. Righteouss can heal all t1s pretty easily still. Its all direct healing though.

Again.. its particularly what you want out of the game right now..
In addition with t2s, its a darn alot easier with gift of faith. I see righteouss as a better line with a really geared out team, so if you ALWAYS run with the same few folks with massive i level.. sure, go ahead, but faithful helps weaker teams and pugs more.
You will have to drop something as righteous for debuffing purposes , to get Bastion back.
DG is just as good on any line.. Its usually the primary slot for everyone.
Right now I use a trans plague to help debuff, then faithful for gift of faith and virtuous line up to gift of haste.
DG, Bastion, shield for pve content.
Bts, bastion, shield for pvp content.
Then some bosses, Im dropping shield for SB for AP gain , especially on paladins, so they can keep up their shield.
The other way to do is is to use a vorp for more crit healing, but I think Im only around 34% crit atm, so Im working on increasing it to 40% , then maybe will try that out on a t2.
Im not saying one way is right or not.. other then if your going to PVP at all.. your going to want faithful.
Alternatively if your gear is high, you can run full heal encounters/class features and heal most dungeons effectively as a Righteous. Since you don't have passive heals tanks are very helpful (you can focus your heals on them). Having high crit severity/crit chance helps with getting high heal numbers as a righteous.
The reality is if you want to solo on a dc, you will find it a lot easier if you make compromises in your healing.
In PVP, everyone will expect you to be a full healer and as noted above righteous dies easily to control classes. There is a righteous PVE/PVP righteous build posted in the forums.
