i am a 70 trapper HR, i saw EVERYONE going lostmauths and figured hey! screw that i will be different! and went with the imperial set, it sounded about the same maybe even better i thought! so i got the pieces waited till a 2x rp got them to purple, and have run lots of 1600 skirmishes/dungeons with em..
they are... "ok" as a trapper i went power/crit/arpen... and i have run with some other HR(s) before in lostmauth's or shores of tuern and well IF they have lostmauth's set and often a vorpal jewel, they DESTROY ME on damage sometimes as much as 40%+ more (always hard to say, we never have EXACTLY the same gear, or stats).... but i will put it this way, the imperial set is a "tickle" of damage even though it goes off like CRAZY it is 25% of weapon damage.. where as the lostmauths is 100% but only on a crit..
as a HR with a ioun stone it is EASY to get 40%+ crit and not too hard to break 50%+ so every other hit is a crit for 100% weapon damage.. where as 2 hits from you are only 25% each (or 50% total), and focusing on crit also makes GREAT use of a vorpal stone in your weapon then, which i ALSO stupidly didn't do, i read getting the plague fire was good because it let us careful attack tick more.. well that was before they nerfed that to only go off once a second..
SO.. at this point i am going back and going to collect lostmauth's set but not in too much of a rush/hurry, i SUSPECT it is going to get nerfed hardcore soon, because EVERYONE is using it.. just like EVERYONE uses a vorpal stone..
PS. side note on imperial set, it has the most annoying EVER partical effect... UGH each hit on a mob makes this red blood trail go from the mob to you... even worse, foxes cunning set it off too! so a red blood trail jumps from friendly players/npc's to you too! *rofl* took me a few days to get used to it, because it make me think i was getting hit by some spell or something..
PPS, i sometimes feel "weird" as a trapper, lots of people say they only get aobut 30% to 35% of their damage (parsing the logs) from thorned roots.. i tend to get 60%+ of my damage from thorned roots, with the NEXT closest being fox shift at 6%) so could be something funky about my build too

I have approximately 40% crit (though according to ACT I tend to crit something more, around 43%). Tried Lostmauth and it made about 5% of my overall damage. The main issue is that a Trapper tends to mostly use encounters and Lostmauth only activates once with them and never on roots. Careful Attack is the only power that gets good benefit from Lostmauth as it applies to every crit. So in boss battles it is a little bit more interesting. After about a month of testing I went back to Lathander's.

I guess it depends on your rotation. Cordon of Arrows/Plant Growth pump up a ton of damage (around 35% of my damage in an eCC run, not far away from roots at 40%). If you use Fox instead of Cordon, your DPS will go down quite sharply so roots will become a larger part of the picture. I have seen that in runs with less geared players where I used Fox to improve the overall party survivability.

Lostmauth are Ok for hr trapper, but only does around 5-8% damage. I guess the roots are not proccing it. Anyway, I'd still go with Lostmauth, because it's better in Archer, and you never know, when will you decide to play some as archer (or even Combat)
My story is truly a grand tale! Of course, any story about me is going to be grand simply by virtue of the main character.
Lostmauth is nothing like imperial, it's way better. And Valindra's set is buged if i recal correctly so yeah..lostmauth heads down.

There is far too much ArP in the Lostmauth set to make it a viable option plus the fact that Strength is one of the stat boosts on the belt. Our gear is already overloaded with ArP which makes this set very undesirable.
Our pain is self chosen.

Yeah I prefer not running with a set at all. I go greater imperial cloak, greater dexterity belt, and that leaves me a free artifact slot over others, and as lirithiel mentioned, better efficiency with armor penetration.
95% crit chance against targets outside 25' distance.
LostM all the way.
How much damage does the Lostmauth proc give you? I've heard it's only roughly 5% extra for HRs.
on my trapper with 50% crit chance and trans vorpal its just a 7-8% on archery is not much different.. why? because HR generally lacks damage multipliers and 90% of our powers do not proc lostmauth. - thorned root? no - plant grow? no - aimed strike? no - rain of arrow? no - fox shift? no and so on...
on a combat hr, lostmauth contribution to damage should be pretty much 0.
Roots is not affected by any additional parameter since module 4 AND SHOULDNT NEVER PROC ANYTHING. For example if roots get procs then Lostmauth will destroy anything in range of 15 feets. For PvP Lostmauth is still the best way because its help against Crushing Roots for bonus daze from Trapper's Cunning. If i remember good i was spot HR with imperial set in mod5 and it was approximately 1-2% of all damage what he dealt, so even not sense to investing in this.
With my trapper i use this setup in dungeons Cordon of Arrows ==> procs LM Plantgrowth ==> only the first hit procs LM Constricting Arrow ==> procs LM Steel Breeze ==> procs LM Fox's Shift ==> only the first of the 3 hits procs LM DoT's such as roots and bleed dont proc it
Allthough im casting my abilities NONSTOP with around 52% crit you really dont feel the difference LM makes The hit counter in act is a good reference here CW's or GWF's do WAY more hits (with even more crit chance) and thus more LM procs. The only place where it shines is carefull attack + LOTS of players (tiamat, demonic encounters and maybe demogorgon) In encounters in the well I apply it once at the demon boss - the first hit of carefull MUST be a crit! If the first hit is a crit, all other hits every 1.5 secs will be crits too and since you hit per player its like 1 crit per Player per 1.5 seconds Usually i out-dps all other players hitting the demonic encounter bosses 7kk to 4kk dps Act stats approximately: 7kk dps = 1.5 - 2 kk carefull, 1.5-2kk LM, 1-1.5 the pala aura if one is around and 1-2kk my encounters Tried it in ETOS too, but 5 ppl hitting the boss arent enough to do serious damage unfortunately.

Would anyone be so kind and post some ACT logs or just a general number and a reason? Pretty please!

If you know something to be broken, stop using it.
Otherwise, you've got no right to be speaking of 'balance.'

Checked. Between about 2.7k ~ 3.0k per LostM
