Don't sell your Dragon Hoard coffer, you'll need em. Lots.

Per title, everybody DONT sell your coffers, you'll literally need loads of them.

Cannot believe how many (insert word for trying to ruin other players game) people are trying to buy unaware players coffers at mostly lowballing offers.

I am 100% most of the people selling don't even know what to do with them, so here's a short but well needed education.

You need them for donating to the hoard, when Tiamat arrives you can donate them to the hoard which grants you buffs and chances of armor and artifact drops in 4 tiers, the better the tier the better the buff and the drops.

Without them you're kinda lost, can start farming coffers again and all for what? Some gold which is worthless anyways.

So don't fall for the gold, hold on to your coffers

Yep. You need like 1500 of them if you want an artifact offhand right away.

Farmed around 600 myself and well its hard enough to grind every day so in my opinion its just not fair of those people to take advantage of the unawareness of others.

I totally agree with you there. One possible solution would be, if you see someone trying to scam a person, call them out on it. Don't be extremely rude or anything, but saying something is better than doing nothing, in my opinion.

See, I sew why people will sell them... People need AD and Gold so the Coffers provide a selling point as people want them.
Yes, I've put the scam message out; last night for example.... I put on trade chat to sell the Gemmed Archmage Ring (rank 20 one) for 300 coffers to see the response.
Within 2mins I had 25 people wanting to trade their coffers for the ring.

Did I though? No... As I felt bad and did it to educate. Shame though, as them 3 Linu Favor would have been nice.

I have taken advantage of Coffers on the AH though

So, how many points are needed for tier 4 unlock? 1500... or more? And from the link that bmean provided, unlocking each tier only opens up the chance to get drops, nothing is guaranteed.

Opening up the tiers is a server wide thing. It take a very large amount of contributions to get the tier 4 unlocked. I expect that on the first day that Tiamat is released, you will hit Tier 4, just because of all the people contributing to get their linu's favors as quickly as possible.

As far as I understand, after Tiamat is here a new repeatable quest becomes available. You "feed" coins (1 point), coffers (15 points) or treasures (200 points) to the quest giver. And each 1500 points gives you 1 linu's favor. Artifact off-hand costs 15 linu's favors.

I'm actually glad Tiamat is delayed for a week. This weekend I'll be farming for coffers and coins like a mad man.

Please tell me that you HAVE to contribute to enter Tiamat? Or at least contribute to gain the Tier bonuses?

I don't want to find out there's going to be spongers doing Tiamat, without contributing; and still gain these bonuses that we helped get.....

You do not. The only "required" donation to the hoard is the 15 coffers for the WOD weekly. The hoard requires hourly contributions. Believe me, you, yourself will be a "sponge" in some hours. A temptation will exist if the hoard is getting close to a new tier to dump everything you have and encourage others to bump it up. When this happens, you may have little or nothing to contribute in the next hour.

On PC currently, the contributions to the hoard are weekly rather than hourly. I'm not sure, but I think that this might end up being the case on Xbox as well. Hopefully it does, because then everyone has more chances and more time for it to get up to tier 4.

It's not really a waste. You still can get linu's favors for contributing. The higher tier, the better rewards, and everyone in Tiamat gets buffs depending what tier it is.

If you fail, you do still get some rewards based on how much you participate (both damage and healing count), you just can't open the end chest if your instance fails.

I thought I had enough on PC. Eventually, I ran out of my surplus. Only took 5 days. Of course, I preferred spending my non-dragon time in Icewind Dale (more variety of HE's) so earned fewer coffers earned after the initial excitement of Tiamat wore off. That cannot happen here, so maybe everyone will have enough. But if the contributions are hourly, as PC was when Tiamat first launched, you will go through them quickly. If they start with weekly, as PC is now, then supplies will last longer and the possibility of higher rewards will last longer.

Yes, timed fight.

Wipe?, no. Unlike dungeons, you fight until Tiamat is dead or time expires. If you wipe, the campfire is near the fight area and there is no invisible wall to keep you out. Like dungeons, there will be a second chest, if you have a key.

Each tier has a set number of points. There will be a display of some type that will show progress towards the next tier.

Stack? Not really. Consider each tier an unlock for the loot table. Tier 1 basic level, Tier 2 adds Draconic Items to the loot table, tier 3 adds "Incantations" book and artifact off-hand and finally tier 4 adds Tiamat's Orb. Each only adds the item(s) to the drop table, it does not guarantee that it WILL drop. It will still be RNG. You can still get some, I considered decent, drops from failures. The bag was one.

What I meant about stacking was the bonuses like HP increase, power etc... Do the bonuses to our stats stack

I do believe that the bonuses stack, but I'm not 100% sure on that. The only one I'm not sure of is the tier 1 stacking with the tier 4. I believe at tier 4 you have all the bonuses of tier 2 and tier 3, but instead of the +1000 HP & +250 power, you get +5000 HP and +1000 power.

I have a Question: There is a Quest where you have to bring back 15 or twenty coffers. Should I do this or not?

You should do the quest but don't return more then 15, I think this is kinda bugged bc you can spam the button and return all at once if you don't pay attention

For the others selling them, I tried and told people online not to sell, every time one of this dubious I buy coffers, best in bulk and stuff, I posted a fat sentence why not to sell but the spammers won.

On the other hand, I posted here and on reddit so people not reading any official or non official forums are on their own.

Shame on you buyers. Shame on you.

Oh, to add I also got harassing pm and messages, even voice on xbl that I shouldn't care and that I shall stop warning unaware people of selling their coffers. Some people nowadays, srsly...
