Trying to raise leadership from 19 to 20 or 20 to 25. For me, the jury is still out since none of my chars have 25 leadership, though one is getting close
19-21 its the long hard time, 21-25 its faster than 19-20.

Definitely going from 19-21. Once you get the 500 exp/hr task at 21, it's much easier.
Just go for as much exp/hr as you can. You'll make up the difference of the extra RAD by getting to the higher levels faster.

19-20 is painfully slow. Other professions are giving in excess of 1200+ XP per task at that point. But at least my character is getting a lot of training in. lol

the purpose of leadership is to make ad... the opportunity cost of wasting hours on the xp tasks does not make sense
Actually it does make sense, if you focus on the higher leadership xp vs AD, you will get to level 25 sooner, and there by make up the loss of AD and then some in very short order. If you focus on AD vs XP, you actually end up earning less AD over the term then if you focus on Leadership xp over AD. Seems counterintuitive but DH and I did the math and it pays off to focus on the leadership XP

Starting from rank 17 Leadership is getting painfully slow to upgrade, and 19-20 is the worse one. 20 to 25 is very fast if you focus on the tasks that give XP, plus you still have the rank 20 tasks to earn some ADs on the way.

I built a spreadsheet that showed me over the course of x days, you made more AD by getting to level 25 faster.
I forget exactly what the time was, but for arguments sake, let's say it took you 60 days to go from 20-25 maximizing the amount of AD you gained. If you then maximized the amount of exp you gained, at the end of 60 days you would have MORE AD as you hit level 25 and the extra AD gains at 25 caught you up to the AD you gained in the other scenario.
In other words, minimizing the time spent leveling to 25 actually provided the optimal AD.
EDIT: It's the same going from 1-20. Maximize the EXP gain maximizes the AD gain of Leadership, then switch to maximizing your AD gain once you're level 20 (or 25 in this case).

After you reach level 25, you will do less leadership tasks per day. It has 2000 AD per day task and 4000 AD per day rare task. Also, 1500 AD per 12 hours rare task. If you care about RP to upgrade AE, Artifact, enchantment, they also make those.
