Party Required Questing

My boyfriend and I started playing around two weeks ago, and we love this game. There is one thing we don't much care for, though, and that is the mandatory 5-person party required for some of the quests. The quests come up in our journals as red, and it says it "recommends" having 5 people in the party, but we'd rather go in just the two of us. So, my big question is, why, if it is only recommended, are we not able to enter that quest area?

    These are old quests which were used to introduce new players to basic dungeons, though as it is most dungeons were disabled due to rework on new difficulty. You can ignore these quests for now.
