So, the look of the burning pvp gear...

polymemepolymeme Member Posts: 87 Arc User
I want to know what genius decided to put large crystalline flames on all the pvp gear, and make it bright orange and undyeable. There aren't many people out there going for the 'bright orange' look, so those huge ugly flame things poking off their armor can't possibly look good. My TR is now wearing searing magma dyes because I just couldn't bear looking at him in any other dye with those orange beacons all over him. I actually liked the look of the grim stuff, too.
Unless the reason was to sell more fashion - in which case this game needs way more fashion items and a better fashion management system.

And don't get me started on the Burning Elemental gear. Oh it looks the same as the Burning gear, just a different colour. Lovely! It's not like this game has an abundance of gear looks. Everything is recycled even the new T1 and T2 armor sets. Laziest. Artists. Ever.

I am at a loss as to which set looks worse, black ice or burning. Even the new PvE armor is bad (it was almost decent until the placed this ridiculous shoulder attachments on them). I find that "less is better" is a good idea when designing things like armor/weapons (and I am not implying scantly female armor -- although I have no real problem with that).

My cynical mind tells me that the reason is close to your guess...

...making it ugly will cause players to invenst the 75k AD into transforming it to some regular-ish Armor. Less AD spent on progress...

It was probably done so you'd buy some dye and mod the look your right I think. Like artifact weapons are designed to make money aswell. To be fair though it is free to play and they have to cover costs some way.

Lol I feel like the only person who likes orange now XD
But i agree, its not the best idea for those of us who love to customise our looks. I'm thinking of transmuting mine, at great cost, because the lower level armour sets look better to me and, hey, I'm a rogue, orange crystal bling catches the eye when I want to fade into the shadows.
