  • Bah, you can't quit the game. All you can do is lose every time you think about it.
  • Wait, I though that birds were the male part of "the birds and the bees?" I mean, all worker bees (and the queen) are female. Males only exist briefly for mating. So bees are the natural choice for the female part of that analogy. Plus, male bees don't have stingers. Anybody will tell you that bees have stingers.…
  • Okay, I colored my suggestion. Maybe I should have done that in the first place. Edit: Switched image host.
  • I know what you're thinking, "The 5-pointed star is traditionally associated with The Five Holy Wounds." But, if you don't want come off as too pro-Christian, the first 2 designs are pretty generic. And, really, 5-pointed stars have been used in lots of non-christian contexts too. I was also going to do one with a lamb's…
  • Clowns! I'll take to the streets at night dressed as a clown, fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves! And I'll start by ridding this city of that millionaire who hunts down disenfranchised folk who were forced to step outside the law to keep their families fed!
  • Well, I've been calling her Athame, but your name's good too. Not technically accurate though. She is wearing a top. An extreme crop top, specifically. Maybe we need to coin a new term. I suggest “mostly topless,” as a reference to “mostly harmless” and “mostly dead.”
  • Oh, well that's good. Those old cooldowns were all way too long. I'll probably give the device a try. Are they doing Bloodmoon once per month these days? I've been away for awhile. That's odd. I thought untargeted powers went where your character was facing, not where your camera was facing. Or am I the only one who…
  • I appreciate you guys trying to find me an alternative, but the 3-minute cooldown is a dealbreaker for me.
  • Swole vs. Aggression: Okay, so Swole gives extra hit points. Aggression gives extra offense, which becomes extra defense via Aggressive Stance. So are the extra hit points from Swole going to give me more survivability than the extra defense from Aggression? Conviction: So, I'm actually pretty confused by Conviction.…
  • Well, I started in on the game earlier this month, after I found out it also has actual PvE content. It's not bad.
  • I'm afraid I can't take Kinetic Darts or Telekinetic Shield for thematic reasons. My character's not actually a telekinetic. She just has a cybernetic right arm that can produce energy fields. Will Ego Blade and Retaliation be fine? Telekinetic Eruption should work fine, since it doesn't have any clear origin point. The…
  • One of my characters has been rocking a sling bikini for years.
  • That school from Revolutionary Girl Utena. The fencing club openly uses a human slave as the prize for their competitions. The only road to or from the school is prowled by a giant death machine. People keep transforming into cars. And all but two characters turn out to have just been scarecrows the whole time.
  • It would also be great if some of the skins had an object at the end of the chain, like a spiked ball, a kusari, or an anchor.
  • Realistically, shouldn't everyone be employed fixing all the damage caused by superheroes and supervillains constantly getting into fights? We've already got construction worker costume pieces. One profession we've got thoroughly covered is stripper. I wouldn't mind uniforms for the various in-game businesses though.…
  • Ice Baby: Stealth Aura (low VFX) + Ice Form Fireman: Stealth Aura (low VFX) + Fiery Form Holo: Stealth Aura (low VFX) + Medical Nanites
  • If the game has any spider emblems, I couldn't find them. So I drew some up. Also a few spider-themed, non-emblem designs.
  • Eat your vegetables. (<-- It's a link.)
  • Yeah, I've been using the Steel Commando hip-layer thing as a sort of codpiece, but it has limitations.
  • Really, all the Dairy frameworks were questionable inclusions.
  • Well, I think the way people wind up hating things is that they start out not being interested in them, but then those things turn out to be hard to ignore. I went through the same thing with sports and several bands.
  • Theoretical optimization for D&D 3.5 came pretty close to that level of complexity. I have fond memories of debates on comparative infinities, the mechanics of time travel, and population growth models for the common earthworm. And yes, all of those actually were necessary to determine if a proposed character could work.
  • Not technically a “hairstyle,” but I like how the lion headdress has its mane combed over its eyes.
  • Well, this is veering off topic a bit, but my preferred approach is for the “basic” attacks to be good enough that player's don't mind using them most of the time, and for all other attacks to be situational. I want my choice of attack to stem from the tactical conditions on the battlefield. I want gameplay that forces me…
  • Fair enough. Percent-based damage reduction where the percent scales with the amount of damage then? It would be sort of like our progressive income taxes. Make an average amount of money, and they take 30% of it. Make a ton of money, and they take 90% of it. Make very little money, and they don't take any. More money…
  • Actually, the way characters die is that the rate of incoming damage exceeds the rate of healing for too long. How long “too long” is depends on how big the difference is. That's what hit points do. They “even out” spikes in healing and damage. And there will always be spikes, because damage occurs in discreet instances.…
  • Thanks. I really feel like a little touch of color here and there can make a big difference. Well yeah, I said I like the NASA look, didn't I? I'd love to see some other takes on the elder worms, as long as they're not just redder/blacker/spikier. Yeah, but doesn't the lore also give these “worms” arms and legs? I like my…
  • Okay, now I see the crux of our disagreement. I don't consider either of those to be acceptable trade offs. The one-shot vulnerability for gameplay reasons, and the inefficient incoming healing for thematic reasons. As I see it, the game needs to introduce a way of surviving one-shots that isn't just an increase to…

  • The meaningful effect of making characters with Regeneration worse at healing than characters with Defiance/Invulnerability, yes.
  • I'm going to have to disagree here. Whether you give DR or extra HP, the result is the same. Each hit takes off a smaller chunk of your health bar. Just because it's tracked differently in the brains of the computer, that doesn't mean the player experience is perceptibly different. If DR would violate the flavor of…
  • I like the astronaut aesthetic. It helps sell the idea that, to them, we're the aliens. That white-clad worm man looks like he believes he's bravely adventuring forth to advance the scientific knowledge of his people. And if that means dissecting some humans, he doesn't view that as wrong any more than I'd be troubled by…
  • They might turn into zombies after they've been murdered. Only one way to find out!
  • Honestly, it seems like an easier fit for claw weapons. At least, the way I imagine someone would grip a pillow. But, you know, the more pillow-fighting options the better. That way, you could build a whole team, The Slumber Party Brigade.
  • Yeah, it always seemed like PFF should have had better healing than Regeneration, since the “healing” it provides only applies to the portion of your effective HP that comes from the shield itself. One thing with Regeneration is, it doesn't interact as well with outside healing as Defiance or Invulnerability. Both of those…
  • I didn't know about the Bloodmoon device. It looks pretty neat. But yeah, the 3-minute cooldown is pretty limiting.
  • Captain Supermarket sounds like the name of a vigilante who brutally murders shoplifters.
  • There are a few thing outside of the Psionic Dragon and Holoforce sets that work for this too. The drops from Mind Inc. guys work, as do glass slippers (they have holohex/psiholo options), and some parts of the power armor and steel wolf sets. Unfortunately, the glass material, gadroon pieces, and those cyberpunk pieces…
  • Just so long as it isn't restricted to female characters. The last thing we need is more unnecessarily gender locked appearance options.
  • Not to sidetrack things too much, but would it unbalance things if the effects of Siphoning Strike were suppressed when you're at full health? (Or, 90%+, or whatever?) Would it be worth 3 points then, or could it still be knocked down to 2?
  • Ranged characters are already effective at any distance. How would a melee/ranged character have things any easier?
  • I'd kind of like to have Challenge! as a toggle. Just so long as it doesn't count as a form, doesn't have a maximum duration, and doesn't use energy. But yeah, right now, adding Challenge! to a power locks you out of using that power when you're not tanking.
  • A few more: Okay, they're making fun of Michael Jackson, but he's western too, so I think it still counts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDl9ZMfj6aE Well, the mouth-light is kind of weird, at least. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxuEtL7gxoM Is Gorillaz too anime-influenced to count?…
  • I'd be happy if even just the Telekinesis and Earth frameworks allowed for a good melee/ranged mix.
  • Do you have any specifics in mind? I have a couple ideas for that. Siphoning Strikes I like the idea of Ego Blade attacks siphoning enemy health to you. But I'm not sure it makes sense as an advantage for on one specific attack. I'd like to see Siphoning Strikes moved to a toggle form or a passive. Regardless of which…

  • I actually chose the title as a deliberate reference to Deadlands. I didn't really think anyone was going to get it though. Was that game more popular than I thought? The exact division of “The West” and “The East” have varied over time, and currently vary somewhat based on the origins of the person using the term. Anyway,…
  • So, I was just watching the Vengabus video (don't judge me!), and I though the one girl's hair was pretty neat. Maybe we could get something like that?
  • Looks like a copy/paste error. But copy/paste should be able to fix it too.
  • Dang, I was hoping "Sex Tape" would turn out to be a hilariously ill conceived contraceptive.
