This has been my biggest complaint. This game had some much potential when it launched and frankly still does. I find it baffling that with superheroes as high as they are in pop culture right now that the controlling companies would shut down the original (CoH) and allow the remaining (CO) to languish in development limbo…
Ah yes, going way back in time I had all the original Ultima boxes as well. I still have the cloth maps and the ankh that came in one. Lucky for me my wife is also a collector so she understands.
I?m a sucker for boxes and I actually read manuals before I play. I have the Champions Online box even though I bought a lifetime subscription. Also.. I have all the CoH/V boxes as well as the little figures that came with them. I have Freedom Force 1, Icewind Dale (with expansions) boxes. I have the first two Diablo boxes…
Yeah, ok, that would be much nicer to look at than the zombie. Really anything would be nicer to look at than the zombie. A nice group shot of the Champions for example.
It's not in the tutorial but in one of the first missions you get once the tutorial is complete. In the Powerhouse there are a set of videos to watch that will complete a quest for you. One of the videos specifically goes over the different ways you use the powers (one click, charge up and sustained attack).
I have to agree. There was a huge call for this in CoH and the Devs constantly said that they would like it but there would be no way they could effectively monitor the game for offensive additions. Even if it was bound to one character or one account, it would be too hard. They ended up breaking it down to a contest that…
That?s an interesting perspective. I would say it the opposite way in that there is a lack of mission content and that led the developers to create the On Alert system. Since it?s easier to create one small map and a toss in a villain than it is to create new open world story lines, zones and NPC?s. So we?ve got a bit of…
Very much this. I?ve been saying for a while the game needs a proper expansion with new power sets, new zones and new content. Having to repeat the same story lines for every new character is boring. I?ve done all the story lines and comic books and they were really cool? the first time. They were still entertaining the…
And it seems odd with the abundance of superhero movies that have been made and are slated for the future. You would think that a good superhero MMO (like CoH or Champs) would be getting a lot of support. Superheroes are really high in the pop culture radar right now. But, as stated, CoH was cut down while still proving…
Nice turn of phrase. While I could have done without the ?butthole? comment I have to agree with Cyber on this. We?ve been nice, we?ve been patient and we?ve basically gotten nothing in a year. I like the random events but they are rehashes of previous events. I really liked the comics and the story arcs, but I?ve done…
I have the Positron Hero Clix from that box. He?s sitting on the shelf with my other figures in my collection. I never got in to Hero Clix but it was a cool figure.
This game needs a real expansion. Not an event, not a bunch of race rings, an expansion! We need more content, new zones, more content, new powers, more content, more costume options, more content, phasing environments and more content. After you level your first character to 40 you have to run Alerts or the same missions…
I?ll toss this in as a little exercise for you guys. Did you know that the original CoH/V was intended to be classless? If you can find it, watch the original release video from Cryptic. Along with a lot of villain groups that never saw the light of day in Paragon City, you will see a brief section on character creation.…
I played DCUO for a bit and they had these race rings as well. They did it a bit better as they had a different set of rings depending on what your travel power was (they only had three, Flight, Acrobatics and Super Speed). As you got to higher level zones the races got harder. You could start a race just by crossing the…
You make a lot of good points. I did look at the LTS as a good deal for me. I was a monthly subscriber to one game or another since the beginning of CoH. That?s $15 a month since April of 2004 (over $1600). So when I saw a chance to play a game with no monthly fee I jumped! But keep in mind that the company offered it and…
I bought a LTS based on how incredible a job Cryptic had done on CoH. I was in the CoH beta and stayed until the end. So when I heard that Cryptic was building a new superhero MMO I leapt at the chance to have unlimited access (read: no monthly bills) to the game. I even promised my wife that would not pay for any other…
I?m right there with you man? I wasn?t able to put my finger on it until you mentioned the Cartoon network reference. I grew up reading Wolfman and Perez?s Teen Titans, not watching Teen Titans-GO! This whole game has way too many joke references and attempts at humor for my tastes. Sure COH/V had some humor, but over all…
