I believe the pic is from Australia I'm from the US and we worship food - an event like this is a spiritual experience, and none would go to waste. Meanwhile, in Florida:
The Australian Classification Board is a statutory agency which sets laws in place, restricting the sales of <MA> 15+, <R>, and <X> rated games. We have decency laws which mostly pertain to X rated material, but the ESRB system is unrelated to any enforcable restrictions. The ESRB is totally different than your…
I was talking about this going to politics - like certain parties, or whatever. I'm very aware of the politicians who are involved in this stuff, on both sides, and it's great discussion... But it doesn't belong here.
It's a valid question - I remember the biggest bullet point about the engine was "being able to ramp up new content quickly". They still "ramp up" those special events don't they?
Jack's a character. CO is a fun game, and the engine is solid, increadibly scaleable, and new content can be implemented quickly. At the time there was nothing mediocre about their efforts - and Cryptic's on-budget/on-time commitment was a cold reality. The way the engine works is by design - calling the game mediocre…
Gamers in the U.S. need to support the ESRB. Just like movie ratings, it is an independant group, paid for by the game makers themselves. This industry self-regulates in order to stay one step ahead of lawmakers. The ESRB is not affiliated with laws, lawmakers, or law enforcement. Please let's not let this thread get…
This is a very traditional third person shooter. I'd love it, but it's one or two runs through the game world for most of us, then we move on. Not competition for CO. But a few things: ○ Haven't really raised anything yet for this project. Couldn't afford to make it a platformer with the funding progress at this point. ○…
Not many of those - and fewer which are conceivable as human skin colors. I was a huge advocate for having crossover colors because I wanted keyhole emblems - but due to the ESRB thing we have very few colors that match. This is a screenshot from a few days ago. I did what I could with the one color that works pretty well:
In early playtesting we were given a few hours a couple times a week to run through a test session. I participated in some of the very early builds (alpha). The color pallet for the costumes originally contained the skin colors. This was great for making "keyhole" style cutouts with the emblems. But it would never make it…
