read the thread again. it's been 2 months. at this point that kinda statement is irrelevant, and unhelpful.

    this troll needs no feeding.

This WILL NOT END until action is taken against him. and I will NOT rest until that happens.

I get the feeling any advice isn't helpful unless it's complimentary or fully embracing the hugbox mentality.

I've read this thread multiple times over the weekend and I can honestly say ignoring and reporting this **** is the easiest solution. I'm not going to beat around the bush or try to use your problem as a podium to further my own goals; I'm telling you straight up build up your tolerance and learn to ignore the little ****. Once you do, you can stop making these threads every single time this happens and we can all get on with our lives.

Yes, kemmi, ignoring and reporting is the easiest method.

However, available data indicate that this method is also totally ineffective. Therefore, logically, another method is required. And as we have not yet developed the ability to Gibbs-slap someone across the Internet, the next available method is to email up the chain of command. Sadly, even if there are results, they are unlikely to come before Tuesday at the earliest, as we're having Memorial Day weekend here in the States, so I doubt highly that TT will be in the office (nor lordgar or dwightmc, if TT for some reason can give no satisfaction).

I've only heard the name of this particular GM in relation to two particular incidents - censoring Major Cleavage a while back, and refusing to address this harassment issue currently. I've yet to hear the name in connection with anything positive, leading me to believe that perhaps this person may not in fact be best suited to the position. One hopes there is some sort of review process which can be undertaken...

Yeah, Gradii's public complaints have been very spread out to about two months to a thread. If this jackass hasn't left her alone yet, he never will. Because it's not a troll... this behavior goes beyond trolling and has entered full-blown stalker and cyberbullying territory. Legal action could actually be taken considering how far it's gone.

Just ignore the fool and go play an adventure pack. He cant follow you into a mission he doesnt have. besides even if he tried to he'd end up on a different instance. Go level up a new toon, again he wont be able to go in the same instance.

Im not sure what else advice to give as i personally have no problems with people like this. if you're going to be so riled up about the situation, go play a different game for a while until you get a response from the staff to calm your nerves. Otherwise just go about your day in CO like usual, dont respond to him, dont talk to him or about him and they're bound to shush and go away eventually.

if you're on there on CO just taking it and complaining, you're doing the wrong thing. Do your dailies on each toon, and since youll always be switching in and out of alerts and onto different toons... he'll get bored.

Sorry if this sounded a tad bit hurtful but i think you just need to be stronger about the situation. dont let him bother you. Report. Leave.. and go about doing your thing.

Yes, all according to the one side of the story we've heard. Perhaps there are legitimate reasons why nothing's been done to this "perpetrator".

Well, there are witnesses to these events who have spoken up and they appear to concur with Gradii. I fail to see how there are "legitimate" reasons for cyberbullying.

LOL - dramatic much? It's statements like this that make me doubt the legitimacy of your claims.

If someone's been doing the actions that you claim they have, then something should be done by the proper authorities. The fact that nothing has been done makes me skeptical that your version of events is entirely accurate.

Actually, I can understand Gradii's frustrations. It frankly is irritating to be given the same advice over and over that fails to work. If it hasn't worked yet, it most certainly won't work the thousandth time over. Having gone through similar events in my life, I can sympathize with Gradii's plight and giving her advice that hasn't solved her problem yet isn't helpful at all.

The bullying's been witnessed by multiple people who have no stake in the fight. The situation is pretty cut and dry. The dramatics of one party don't justify the treatment.

As per your earlier remark on "two sides". The perpetrator has had plenty of opportunities to get involved in the thread and present his side. He's well known enough in the PVP community that word of this thread would have leaked to him, so ignorance isn't an excuse. In this case, I have to interpret his silence accordingly, or assume certain posters in this thread has served as something of a mouthpiece.

Oh gradi you do know casting aspersions on employees of cryptic is also a super major no no, so calling a GM worthless is another huge mark agaisnt yourself proving you can get heated and say things that are out of line. For all you know it was such a singular moment that started all of this.

I've seen it first hand. I watched this player set to follow and spam attacks/powers. I asked why they didn't just give it a rest already, and the response was 'LOL I am doing nothing wrong fXXk off' and other typical troll-speak. ....and then they repeatedly dropped duel rockets at me to 'duel'. Then Gradii went to another instance, this player IMMEDIATELY started traveling instance to instance to find them and repeat the same behavior.

So, if you think this is 'okay', I want you to know that I won't personally insult you. Thinking this is okay is insult enough to your person.

Oh good grief, stop nitpicking on the term already.

"Professional" can be used to describe someone who is skilled and competent at whatever activity it is they are doing. It doesn't necessarily mean that someone is being paid to do it. In the context of gradii's situation this harasser looks to be very good at being a committed bully, hence being a "pro" at it. Guess where the term "pro" derives from by the way?

If it is true the gradii barely knew or interacted with this player before the harassment, then their actions are simply out-of-line and not justifiable by any normal person's definition of 'just retaliation'.

Judging by their overly-prolonged and extremely-excessive 'response' to any sort of stimulus gradii may have first set, I wonder if we are dealing w/ a pathological personality type (or the player is just really young and foolish). Regardless of the 'driving force' for the harassment, its clear they need to be punished for their actions.

And if he is simply retaliating to 'channel' other people's issues w/ gradii, a) its still inappropriate, and b) its not his place to do that anyways.

    That's not a bad idea. I have a plan.

1- Gradii? When this dude does this, broadcast it to as many people as possible. Put it on the forums if need be, in this very thread.

2- As many people as possible should swarm the area where Gradii is.

3- EVERYONE should report the player's harassment. And not just an in-game ticket, do a PWE ticket as well. Yes, double-report to be sure that if one set of tickets is being ignored, another isn't.

4- Screencap the ticket, block out the names, and post it to the forums. Show how many people have reported this player.

5- If it happens again, we make a thread and re-post all those ticket screencaps. And we necro the hell out of it. Keep it in general CO right here, top of the topics until something gets done. Advertise the HELL out of this absolute failure for all to see.

6- And if you like, we can get in touch with several of those MMORPG review sites and see if they'd like to do an article on it. Publicity!

I'm going to welcome many of you to the reality of the Internet where scumbags make death threats and the cops won't do jack about it. It's straight up BS that anyone says this proper solution is to ignore this person. Sitting around doing nothing is why things on the Internet are so bad. No, Gradii shouldn't have to be the one that just ignores the troll. Cryptic should be hanging people like that out to dry, publicly shaming them to go along with their ban. Set the example that this behavior is not OK and that action have consequences.

As far as I'm concerned, this crap should be recorded and uploaded to YouTube where anyone can see it at any time.

I'm an RPer, and have seen a lot of in-game trolling (mostly insults, some emote-spam) of our community in various games, so I understand the frustration it can cause, especially when nothing is done about it, when said trolling is reported. That said, I cannot fathom how difficult it must be to deal with this physical harassment, as it would significantly impact gameplay, and yet see Cryptic do nothing about it? That's completely inexcusable, and I completely understand why Gradii is so upset about this long-standing situation.

So, with that in mind, I have brought my resources to bear, in order to help bring attention to both the in-game physical harassment in CO, as well as Cryptic's refusal to act upon this situation. Perhaps a little public shaming might get the point across?

This is up now, and will be spreading elsewhere soon. Twitter, FB, Google+, etc.

Note: It's a joke article, as are all of my Trolls, see disclaimer at the bottom to highlight the issue.

I want all of you who think Gradii initiated this to answer me one fast question. What kind of act could a person do to another player that'd make stalking them for months at a time and interrupting their rp/harrassing them for hours at a stretch a reasonable action? I don't typically post on here but Imma give it a try.

The amount of 'Ignore it!' 'what did you do to deserve it?' or 'You're being dramatic' that I've read in this thread is honestly disgusting.

Someone in our community is being stalked. Yes, this is stalking.

I saw a lot of 'Go do something else.' suggestions too and while it makes sense and can work for a while, maybe she doesn't want to do an adventure pack or a mission every second she is in the game. why on earth should Gradii have to change the way she plays the game? She shouldn't. Especially after months of this.

This dude needs to be stopped. She has tried to stop this for months, seriously. Can you imagine having to deal with that kind of crap for months?

As a girl that's been stalked, both IRL and online by a crazy dude... I can understand this and it really makes me sick that so many people are blaming Gradii or just being tools in general.

Bottom line is that something needs to be done. By Cryptic.

Pah, I throw my scorn upon such incompetents of the West who would mock the true art of the Japanese with 'games' such as Baldur's Gate and Madden. Perhaps it is that the West is not as intelligent as the East, but this is a matter for another day. Japan has given us such masterpieces as the Final Fantasy series, Star Ocean, Wild Arms, and of course, Arc the Lad. Yes, some of the finest vidcons in the world were created by Japanese. I come to you today to ask you in all earnesty, what is your favorite vidcon? ^Kinda looks like we have bots on the forum.

Among the most prominent Japanese composers (although I use the word 'Japanese' superfluously, as even the most well-known American composers are barely competent at best), one in particular stands out to the enlightened vidcon soundtrack consumer. His name: Yasunori Mitsuda. For the record, this is not to undermine the amazing works of other incredibly talented vidcon composers such as Uematsu-san or Sakuraba-san, but to highlight the unique, almost celto-tropic music (the word music is an understatement) that Yasunori Mitsuda has been composing for years. It would be sheer ignorance to deny that the Chrono Cross soundtrack is anything but the magnum opus of vidcon music; its lilting and oftentimes hauntingly peaceful guitar melodies soothe all but the most savage of breasts while its tense battle themes and mysterious donjon tunes ignite a blazing passion that can be quenched only by the vidcon's profound story and gameplay. It is a wonder that anyone can listen to anything besides vidcon musical compositions after listening to Mitsuda-san's immensely powerful soundtrack, but given that the primitive thuds of hip hop are America's current choice of 'music' (I use the term music liberally), once can see little hope in the mass appreciation of Mitsuda-san's work.
