You think a ban would stop this player? They could just make new accounts. It's not like the troll has to even use chat to upset the OP. If I were the troll I'd smirk at the sight of this thread.

Ignoring a troll (not just using the command) requires patience exceeding that of the troll. A thread like this confirms your patience is a vulnerable thing to attack.

It's called an IP ban. The troll would actually have to move (or get a new Internet service, which unless he's using DSL is the same thing) to avoid it. And if someone's willing to go that far just to harass you, it might be time to look into legal solutions....

2 months this has been going on.

also he's the picture perfect pvper. no shame, random lame build, device spam, anything to win at any cost.

beating him up wont help even if you can manage it.

Oh there are only two people with which i struggle in duels, Xeno and Malware.

Mind giving me his @handle and character name if he has a main toon? Use the private msg function.

IP ban will stop him? Since when did static IPs become more popular than dynamic ones?

OP just don't stress out over the whole ordeal...you're giving them more of what they want. Just team with your friends and have fun. Your happiness is the ultimate revenge.

Yep. I remember during my dreadful schooldays being taunted day in and day out, and my teachers kept recommending that I "ignore" my harassers and they'll eventually stop. They never did, because there was never any consequence to their actions. A person like this is going to keep on doing **** like this until he gets punished.

There's actually a way to ban supposedly dynamic IPs, a friend of mine who's very good with programming demonstrated it to me once. It involves banning the particular hub of the ISP in his area.

That is very neat and interesting I will admit.

I'd be flattered if someone went through that kind of effort to stop me were I trolling though tbh haha but that's unrelated. I'd imagine the people on that hub wouldn't be too happy either if they were CO players.

not that I am a general advocate for violence.. but that was my experience too, the beating had to be significant and total, to communicate why they did not want to continue the situation but it stopped things. not really applicable online. though, cant take a chair to someone over the internet.

the bullying I got in school stopped ,
when I called them out.. suddenly it was, I'll get you tomorrow, tomorrow never came

when I humiliated them in front of their friends . Kind of hard to look good, when your target doesn't give the expected answers to your insults and you stand their like a fish mouthing , trying to think up answers to a barrage of questions.

and finally the direct method, one good swift kick and I was sent to the headmaster to explain, Then they were.

when you're taller than everyone else, like school, have totally different interests , you get to be the target of lots of people.
on the other hand, due to the... training, its a lot easier to identify a personality type quickly and get the people to do exactly what I want them to do.
    there's always some bonus.
BTW, not dealing with a 'friends' behavior is unprofessional and can be a dismissible offense.
In the case of this a...hole, public humiliation of the company or GM involved.

Well the reason why you don't punch people in the face is because their babies or their family's babies will punch your babies and pretty soon the human race is gone.

    Make babies not war.

    Suddenly, the troll appears.

    Hey.

Knock it off. Seriously. Ain't nobody got time for your shenanigans. People are trying to play this game and have fun. If you don't have anything better to do that be a little brat, then go find some other game like Call of Doodie and socialize with the other squeakers. 'Your Mom' jokes are all the rage there, so there you go- I've greased the axle for you.

You harass people online because your parents not pay you any attention? Is it they're just pretending you don't exist out of shame, or is there a problem in your home? Do you have many friends? Listen, annoying people isn't fun or funny, especially in grown-up land. But, you're probably not keen on that yet. One day you will learn.

Listen, it's a known fact that people who are trolls online have real-life problems. You can go talk to a counselor, a teacher, or another adult about them. Don't project your problems online- because if people hate you in real life, you can at least get people online to like you if you tried. Friends are good.

Of particular note, my experience with Gradii and builds/PvP is not bad at all. The player has never shown elitism, and their Freeform build skills have only manifested with 'Hey, let me show you what I made!' or simple build advice for my own knowledge. Even in PvP, I've never seen them act like jerk- but I have seen a few butthurt PvPeewees get mad and harass the player because they lost, and this appears to be no different.

Like I said, if Cryptic's GM's actually took the time to work on doing something with these accounts- we'd have fewer problems. You ban one or two of them, the rest will get the picture.

Biff, why the hell aren't YOU a GM?

The problem is with this thread is that you fed the troll so much that I think he'll need to take a leak somewhere sooner or later. Good thing is the troll in question I well know is not a forum user, I can't even remember him posting in the hero games forums. I think he may of once about his youtube but that was it.

I have no idea who it was who just posted in the thread as I couldn't see the name although it'd amuse me to find out. I am still wondering why M is getting so into the trolling on this one, I've known him to troll but not really to drag it out like this. As I said it's because he knows there will be a reaction from dazee I suppose. Probably a lot to do with boredom as is the case with a lot of people who troll in CO.

I'll try talking to M in coPvP, although I don't think it will do anything. Just please stop feeding him please, feeding a troll will just give them more s*** to need to get rid of somewhere. That means stop talking about the way you were bullied at school because frankly comparing the two ends up being the best of troll bait.

Mhm I'd hold back on that for now just for a bit at least as attacking a troll with fire can spook it sometimes, and that isn't really a good thing. It wasn't with luci at least not that M is ATALL the same as luci.

And lol a fight with caliga a real fight? It is kind of fun to duel him on my 5k hp builds though I must say that much. ;) I could imagine you two having a pretty fair fight though as your builds are fairly similar.

You kown this kinder reminds me of a horrible nightmare I had gradii. Where bacily this one player whuold bacily do the exact same thing as your bully right now but it got so far worse. He was able to hack into the game and follow me into my own hideouts and bacily stopping my RP with my friend. It got really freaky to because he was able to kill my toons and I was never able to log back into them etc.

At the end I was able to sort of "Win" the dream by well Killing myself with in the dream. Yeah I had to Kill myself in order to stop that type of dream. It worked and hurt.

But back on case, I hope GM and the Dev's remove that person for you, and bests of lucks to you.

i am willing to come out of retirement, because i know what it takes to shut up a bully. (another bully) I bet i'd wipe the floor with him, even if i'd sidekick down to lvl 6, as i did sooooo many times in the past against fotm - ff builds with the IQ of a potatoe.

The question that remains is: Do you want him roasted or fried? Sliced or as a whole?

It's hard to say.. Any gaming websites, really; especially those that deal in MMOs, but the problem is that.. well.. nobody really gives a crap about Champions Online outside of players of the game, it's not a well known game because Cryptic doesn't advertise it at all and with the poor health of the game and all?

Not sure there's any way you really could raise attention to it. Cryptic probably won't care no matter what you do, that's just how they work. They're a crappy company and they've earned their reputation and the ire of their player-base. At least this is one of the few games with a Community that genuinely deserves to be jaded about it.

The larger issue is that RP itself is stigmatized in the MMO industry as a whole, ironic given the roots of MMOs come out of RPGs (and were for many years actually known as "MMORPGs"). Sadly, the attitudes of some of the idiot anti-RPers that make up a minority in the PVP community (including the one who is sharing his "loving" with Millennium City in this instance) is representative of a deep underlying contempt in the MMO industry itself. If she was somehow to present her concerns to the larger MMO community, apart from any attitude to CO itself, she would encounter a very vocal section of the population who would advocate that such bullying is not only warranted, but that the griefer is to be commended for it, and the RPer brought it upon herself because RP is itself a narcissistic and deviant delusion and that RPers are a pack pf oversensitive drama queens who can't handle emotional stress like "real" gamers and their wildly overdramatic response to anyone having "fun" rightly invites ridicule.

In short, it's 2014, people are still intolerant asshats, and for the larger MMO community, RP is an acceptable target for their barely human bile (which is deeply ironic, given how much the greater population of non-gamers stigmatizes us all so badly, that we would see a need to stigmatize ourselves).

Yeah, it's always.. kinda tickled us, the irony that it's an MMORPG, Massively Multiplayer Online ROLEPLAYING GAME and they treat roleplayers like some sort of deviant freaks.. of course it also amuses us that anyone judges anyone else for anything, really since We're all freaks to someone out there and that makes 'normal' something that genuinely only exists on a purely subjective level, but whatever.

Yeah.. It's 2014 and people are the same, Humanity has actually been the same for thousands of years. People only mistake technological advancement for 'human progress' and 'evolution,' in truth, the human race has neither evolved or advanced at all for a good long while.

Unless of course you count the ability to completely delude yourself and deny truth as an 'evolutionary trait.'

PWE your customers arnt happy with this whole situation. There has been so many incidents where normal players get grief from our GM because of his backwards and uneducated personal views yet trolls get to run rampant.

And to be honest this isnt even trolling most trolls are harmless , this is full on cyber bullying and it needs dealt with harshly.

You're seriously better off ignoring them. Completely. Do not give the little **** the time of day. Go about your missions or whatever as if they weren't even there. Do not attempt to troll back lest you make a bigger **** of yourself and let the troll win. I don't care how many times you say "It hasn't worked before", you're obviously not trying hard enough to ignore them.
