The on going hunt for tokens

Did around 150-175 runs of Fire and Ice with solid team members (more or less the same) in order to get the six tokens I needed. Sure, I was incredibly exhausted after the long grind but I'm alright with the drop rate being pretty much close to horrible. Frustrating sure but tolerable.
On the other hand, did about ten to fifteen runs of Sky Command to get all the six that I needed.

While Fire and Ice has a horrible drop rate, I don't think changing the drop rate to make it any easier for players to get a token is the way to go. It provides players something new to do and if some are willing to sit for hours (like me) to get all the tokens they need within a day, sure.

Justice Gear is not at all required for any PvE game content so why should it be (relatively) "easy" for anyone to acquire? It's a suitable "end-game grind", for the time being anyway. It keeps people incredibly busy while (hopefully) devs come up with content. And if you're one of the ones with great RNG luck, more power to you!

    Have fun grinding, y'all!

I could maybe see your argument if it wasn't for the existence of Legion's gear. To my humble opinion making Justice gear a fairly reasonable to attain set (granting that the drifter salvage is going to require a fair bit of Q grinding unless someone's selling it in the AH) is a necessary step to offset the extreme amount of money needed to get Legion gear to enter the game (in particular to get certain valuable pieces of it that actually see usage) and move the game away from a Pay to Win setup. I concede you don't *need* Legion or Justice gear (yet) for content, though tanking F&I in Heroic is going to be hard as nails without it for freeforms, while ATs are likely going to have even more issues thanks to the relatively one-dimensional nature of their builds.

In other words, (to me) Justice gear needs to be readily accessible to level the playing field and remove the unfair advantages afforded to those in Legion gear.

Level the playing field for who and in what instances? If you're referring to FF's, the playing field is already uneven in terms of the various differences in powers strengths. As for AT's, you're pretty much screwed in terms of PvP against other FF's. However, AT's do and have succeeded in Fire and Ice and in my own experience, as DPS (as Soldiers for instance).

If you intend to PvP or if you have a sadistic urge (like me) to min/max, should you actually aim for Legion gear or if not higher, Justice gear.

There are also cases in which those with Heroic gear will outdo Legion gear. You don't need legion gear to excel in PvP. It helps but not totally necessary.

The Pay2Win argument is getting old. Pay2Win is and should only be applicable to where there is actual PvE content that stands impossible to complete without using gear hidden behind a pay-wall.

Y'all need to remember that this is a F2P game and lockboxes as well as C-Store content are the moneymakers. Sure, it sucks that you have to pay and gamble to unlock certain goodies but you don't, in reality, need any of it!

who cares if you need it. this is a matter of principle. its just bad design to force us to rely on the RNG for tokens.

increase the number needed and make a minimum number guaranteed to drop.

You're already relying on the RNG for a number of things. Taking this in a different direction...why isn't there a guarantee for costume pieces? You don't need costume pieces either. Sure, not having it may hinder you in a way but there are workarounds. RNGs are a part of video games.

your post made obvious you have contempt for me based on ill conceived and erroneous ideas of the kind of player I am.

if that's not the way you wanted the post to be taken I suggest you use different wording in the future.

Yeah, I'm going with Spinny on this one(thanks Spinny ). What was "obvious" to you wasn't there in the 1st place. My wording was just fine. You will need to come to terms with that. Not everyone on these forums is a boogieman out to get you.

thats true that RNG is a part of video games but thats just it, its a PART.

gear and character advancement should not depend on the RNG

Gear and character advancement have nothing to do with Justice Gear/this particular type of RNG. Justice Gear is an extra perk for those who want -more-. Same as costume pieces.

Justice gear is gear. and thus falls under GEAR and character advancement.

So would a Dark Speed be considered gear? Because you know that's a device and they can be awfully important to character advancement and improvement.

No matter how many times I run UNITY, I can't get any tokens for all the stuff in Dr Mentac's vendor.

the conclusions you choose to draw from posts I made 6 months ago are not my concern.

How about last week? Are you a significantly different person now than you were last week? Because the message you put forth in your posts hasn't changed. Maybe you need to drop the "I want everything easy and I want to solo everything" act if that's not what you want people to believe about you.

well if were talking just gear here no. but Justice gear is counted as GEAR piece in game, Primary upgrades.

its really no different in that sense to heroic gear even, you can do almost any content with green lvl40 primaries.

I do believe you have stumbled upon something, run with this maybe.

Are you talking about UNITY merits? Those were an old currency before the alert system.

The vendor is just still there for the people who have those tokens left on their older characters.

Though there is also a bug where you will occasionally find UNITY merits while playing the daily missions.

Every boss in Therakiel's Temple drops two tokens, except I think Valerian Scarlet

They should have converted them to questionite because they are in the store for questionite now to. The action figures prices should have given a good baseline as well, so I dunno why a conversion wasn't done at all.

But I do have to agree, all these currencies are just getting out of hand now.
