Well some people have been much luckier than me and got lots of things as well as up to 8-9 tokens so far.

I started recording some of the drops I got every time up until the point I found some luck about half way through yesterday. I have done over 100 runs of this and here is the rewards I got from a small batch of runs. Note I still only have 2 tokens.

FYI I have got the AF's like 8 times each over my two toons so they are worthless.
  1. 300Q
  2. 300Q
  3. 300Q + AF
  4. 300Q
  5. 300Q

Let's See... (take in mind that I won't do the rampage more than 2 times with the same character)

    Day 1:

    Furtinios (FreeForm Healer-Debuffer-Stunner)
    1st Run: 1500 Q, Firefighter Jacket
    2nd Run: 1200 Q, TOKEN!!

    Buzmun: (FreeForm Ice DPS)
    1st Run: 1500 Q, Kemina Action Figurine
2nd run: No Second Run with Buz

    Lexo: (FreeForm Single Blade DPS)
    1st Run: 1500 Q
    2nd Run: 1200 Q

    Day 2:

Izzerua (Radiant AT, was Healing all the time)
    1st Run: 1500 Q
    2nd Run: 1200 Q

    DivSavaege (Dietrich) (Hybrid DPS)
    1st Run: 1500 Q
    2nd Run: 1200 Q

    Buzmun: again
    1st Run: 1500 Q, Firefighter Axe, TOKEN!!
    2nd run: 1200 Q

I didn't actually Farm the alert at all, I was more Busy farming Alert Dailies, Just Casualy joining Private Queue Teams when I had a chance! :/

Do you think that except of the Q, the rest rewards get Reduced rate per character?

I think this is the case, after the first 1-3 the rate of getting tokens goes down massively. It's to keep people with lots of alts happy me thinks.

First day was zero tokens in 5 wins.

Second day was four tokens in 5 wins across three tank toons. All tanked Frosticus so score was at bottom every time.

I highly doubt this is the case. I feel any extended length of runs without tokens is just the RNG gods trolling you.

Well there appears to be a timer on tokens. Not to mention it's already been stated that repeat runs see diminishing returns. I just got my third token so still working on what the timer is on it.

get rid of the timer and the diminishing returns on token drops.

It's not even confirmed that there is a timer, nor that there are diminishing returns on token drops. All signs point to neither being present in fact.

We have a mental bias to think that the world is a meritocracy, that if we just grind enough we'll see rewards. Video games kinda play into that, but also use chance which doesn't follow that perception at all. It's possible for one player to get 10 tokens in 10 runs and another to get no tokens in ten runs. Without a large enough sample from different players there is no way to really have any certainty.

Questions I don't think players know yet:
    • Do drop rates increase according to the scoreboard?
    • Do drop rates decrease over time like the Questionite reward?

    Things we do know:
    • Rewards are currently tied to the leader board-- if players don't do enough damage to Kenina and you get nothing. This favors DPSers and sometimes heavy single-player damage knocks tanks and healers off the scoreboard.

    Possible Solutions:
    • Add a Damage Taken and Health Restored Leader Board. Maybe add reward circles just for those boards.
    • Grant a token every 30 successful runs, put an upper limit on # of runs needed to earn a token.

Actually we do know the answer to these. The scoreboard is basically just an anti-afk method to keep people from just signing up and idling for rewards. Otherwise, your score on the list has no bearing on where you fall in the reward scale. This was changed ages ago. Like, couple of years ago, when people were getting upset because people were assembling builds to exploit tanking, healing and damage done in the score board to almost always be the top spot, mostly tied to pet builds at that. Loot is just distributed randomly to people who are on the scoreboard now, and the actual score has no bearing on it. All that is required is you actually get on that scoreboard now if you want a reward.

in that case the drop rate is too low. I've done about 30 successful runs or more, got 2 tokens.

and some people like Monaahiru seem to have done just as many if not more, and got zero.

Is it too low? That really depends more on the intent of the designers than it does our desire to have the gear now now now.

Not a bad idea. NW has this. At the end of Skirmishes or Dungeon Delves, a scoreboard pops up showing:
    • Most Damage Dealt
    • Most Enemies Slain
    • Most Damage Taken
    • Most Healing Restored
    • Most Deaths Suffered

Would be nice if that could get brought over here.

*cue laughter from flyingfinn here at idea of us stealing stuff from NW* ;)

Given how hellish this rampage can be, getting 0 loot if you failed to have the time to hit Kenina (since only hitting her counts) is immensely frustrating for a role that's already stressful (healers). Please, please, please change this!

kallethen: This is an excellent idea since it would be CO, with a dev team of X-Pirates, taking something from our neighbors instead of just NW siphoning off of STO all the time.

how about getting rid of leaderboards? I don't see anything good coming from them.

I see where you're coming from this one from your post history(which is still somewhat confusing in bits). You speak for the silent masses who apparently suck at this game. You, yourself, don't suck because you have soloed Gravitar before and I've heard of you being a successful contributing factor to F&I Runs. You don't like comeptition. You don't like having to rely on teammates to have the attention span of a goldfish with a learning disability to keep your group from wiping. You don't like wipe mechanics at all no matter their design. You see leaderboards as a way for people to only express negativity. Ok, your opinions work for you(and scant few others it seems) and you have a right to them.

Now, being a NW player, let me share with you my insight into how this particular scoreboard works. NW has classes. They have build options(somewhat) so you are basically putting yourself into a "role" with specific "duties" and "goals" in a run. My Great Weapon Fighter(GWF) for example, is mostly AEs. It's a suicide machine designed to run into a large group of mobs and hit them all at once. Doing this I fill a bar with incoming damage which allows me to enrage(so to speak) which ups my damage and gives me a self heal. Now I know I'm not going to take the most damage because of taunt mechanics(unless the GF is horrible, which is possible). I know I'm not the top of the healing board(unless the cleric just outright sucks, which is possible). I'm likely not going to be top of the damage tables unless there's not a rogue or CW. I hope I'm not at the top of the death tolls but, due to the playstyle, it is entirely possible. What I am looking at is the kill numbers. The enemies slain section. It's not some kind of epeen bragging thing. It's kind of like a specified combat parser and performance measurement. If I'm not top 3 on hitting everything in the face....then I need to step up my game because my GWF is the, "Hey, hit everything in the face," portion of the team dynamic.

Likewise, on my cleric I know the numbers on certain dungeons and that I not only should be 1st in healing every single freaking time...but it should be between X-Y numbers. The same is true on my rogue for damage and my GF for incoming damage. My friends and I do not use these scoreboards as a,"Ha, you suck newb. Get in the gym!" gauge. We use them to evaluate performance and if shortcomings appear we look more in depth at gear, build, and playstyles to be able to fix the issue.

Myself, and some of my friends, in CO do the same thing with parsers. For me it's not about, "Super Number 1 Ultra DPS Supremecy." It's about the measurements of a build in the context of the particular fight and my level of overall contirbution. From my F&I runs I can tell you I'm not going to beat Kaiserin in DPS. I'm not going to beat Spar in incoming DPS. I'm not going to outheal Radia. I am, however, going to be right up there in DPS and, since I'm usually running a form of a mobile dps AE toon, I'm going to be breaking spires, killing Living Fire and Ice, and usually equally damaging both bosses with the utility/option to be able to hit one harder than the other to maintain balance. The tools like parsers and such just allow me to measure the actual numbers on this to make sure that I'm not just running around waving my hands for no good reason at all. A working scoreboard(which isn't in F&I atm) is a means by which to gauge personal performance. If a friend is playing glass cannon all out DPS and their numbers are severly lacking...then it's a sign/red flag and we can use PTS or something to look into improvements as an option.

That is the good of a system like the one kallethen proposed. IMO, it has it's merits and uses.

This has already been changed on PTS (as of last check) - now you can damage either one of them to show up on the scoreboard.

    Sadly just healing doesn't count.

I like leader boards. If I'm playing a healer, I want to know that I'm healing more than everyone else. Or to see if the other team bothered to mark me like I told them to. Or how many objective I complete VS everyone else. I don't normally main a DPS toon, so not all that concerned about that.

I see leader boards as a way to improve my own character builds.... And to gloat. Just a little. Not so much here in CO since I expect a FF to out perform my ATs in just about everything expect maybe DPS, the role I'm least likely to play in team content.

I'm blaming you for stealing my luck, then. *shakes fist* I didn't even get my normal 1-2 costume bits from Warlord and nothing but Q from Fire and Ice. I'm sure mostly going PUG isn't helping with that. I have hope that I'll actually win in one someday.

Listing everyone competitively only rewards epeen.

You can get everything you need from a board that tells you your own contributions and not anyone else's.

Personally, I also wish they were removed completely from all three games. I also wish that we had no access to any other player's combat numbers. No floating text saying bob did 400 damage and fred did 200 damage. No combat tracker (and thus no parser able to act as a leaderboard for anyone but you yourself.

Edit, for clarification, for every person like you that says "hmm this shows that *i* need to step up my game" there's 20 dou che bags that say "kick that punk he sucks". Leaderboards feed those people and give them ammunition. I'd rather take that ammunition away from them, even if it means one tool for self improvement is lost at the same time. The price for that tool is too high.

I have never, ever heard any childish bragging leaderboard placements in any of my playing on NW. Most of the time it's just grab the reward chest, perhaps a quick "good game" and split team. There's occasionally some bragging on the forums (and sometimes whiners pointing at the leaderboard as proof X class needs a nerf). I'm give the disclaimer that I don't PvP though. I'm sure there could be some leaderboard bragging in PvP, but it's not like there already isn't bragging there.

In short, I don't think people care about the leaderboard scores as much as you believe.

It's always nice to come back and see something you gave birth to just to see it when it's all grown up. :)

    crying-meme-674-1.jpg

Anyway, sky command was a rather easy drop rate I really didn't have to do very many of them to get the same amount as I got from 150 F+I runs. (4) lol

Next up is gravitar which we are expecting to be just as bad as F+I.

Then we have lemurian invasion, oh please devs I hope you didn't give it the same drop chance as fire and ice. If I need to do something made to take up to 20 minutes 150 times I think I'm just going to give up there and then. (and that would be to just get the 2 set, not the full set)

Oh by the way there is no timer, someone got 2 tokens in a row apparently in F+I and tokens drop crazily in sky command.

Also leaderboards are in a game to push players to get more damage and stuff to test themselves and their builds. Nothing wrong with them, leaderboards have been in games from the start.

I didnt feel like reading through all the pages. But I will say this:

Keep the token drop rate the same. Dont change it. I don't need Justice Gear turning to easily obtainable legion gear. I'd rather have gear that separates me from everybody else. I don't like being normal, that's why I strive to be great. I don't feel special if everyone has justice gear, and I don't like being on the same power level tier as everybody either.

None of that is sarcastic. And I don't take any of it back either.

Did around 150-175 runs of Fire and Ice with solid team members (more or less the same) in order to get the six tokens I needed. Sure, I was incredibly exhausted after the long grind but I'm alright with the drop rate being pretty much close to horrible. Frustrating sure but tolerable.
On the other hand, did about ten to fifteen runs of Sky Command to get all the six that I needed.

While Fire and Ice has a horrible drop rate, I don't think changing the drop rate to make it any easier for players to get a token is the way to go. It provides players something new to do and if some are willing to sit for hours (like me) to get all the tokens they need within a day, sure.

Justice Gear is not at all required for any PvE game content so why should it be (relatively) "easy" for anyone to acquire? It's a suitable "end-game grind", for the time being anyway. It keeps people incredibly busy while (hopefully) devs come up with content. And if you're one of the ones with great RNG luck, more power to you!

    Have fun grinding, y'all!

All of that is fine, and I mostly agree with you. However, as it stands now there is a tremendous amount of luck involved in getting tokens. You may be 1000x greater and more special than me, but if I run F&I 10 times and get 6 tokens, while you run it 100 times and get 2 tokens, then I'm the one who's going to have Justice Gear and you aren't. I think that's where the frustration comes in for most people.

Again, I'm with you on keeping it from being too easily attainable. A pretty solid grind on each leg of the rotation to get just one set of the gear seems reasonable to me, and it will keep me interested in playing the content. But none of that changes the simple, immutable fact:

RNG sucks. Has always sucked, will always suck.

So, my opinion only, I think it would be better to require, I dunno, ~20 of each token for a piece of gear, but guarantee the drop.

Side note: This Sky Carrier mission is a beating. It feels like it takes 2 hours every time, I almost literally fell asleep a few times running it tonight. I'm reeeeeeeally hoping they keep that at a virtual 100% drop rate.

yeahhhh this needs some changing. not only does it punish those with few characters, it punishes those who have stuff to do in real life and can't constantly farm the alert. badly.

get rid of the timer and the diminishing returns on token drops.

Get rid of the diminishing returns on drops period.

And I'm not talking about questionite rewards getting lower when you do gravitar again and again.

This diminishing factor plays a role in all drops. You can see it shine the most during blood moon, and mega destroid. Or any event that requires scoring etc. Your first couple runs, meaning 2-3 will be guaranteed to get some sort of prized/rare drop. After that, you're picking up the worst of the worst.

    Don't believe me?

Do bloodmoon. Log onto one character, Do 1 boss. If you don't get drop. Log onto another character. Do same boss. Rinse and repeat until either your pockets are full, or you run out of characters to swap.

your post made obvious you have contempt for me based on ill conceived and erroneous ideas of the kind of player I am.

if that's not the way you wanted the post to be taken I suggest you use different wording in the future.

Their wording doesn't indicate insults of any kind though. They paint a fairly accurate picture of the content of your posts on these forums, and surprisingly they did so without insulting you once... in fact, they even complimented you.

If you find anything in their post insulting, then you really need to look back at your own posts and realize that you're representing yourself in a way that you yourself find insulting. It seems that perhaps in your quest to promote your ideas, you've ended up having to pretend you're something you're not in order to justify them.
