Just hearing that you are going to test this event makes me happy

This should be advertised in Super News Network Forums as well, to get as many players as possible on the PTS.

    Great news!

    EDIT:

    - I am guessing Cybermind is still on PTS then?

    - Killing 12 Mega D's: Will it grant the AF alongside the title? Or is the AF not ready yet?

Ditto on this one... or announce a PTS testing time, because definitely this is going to be tough to test just by ourselves.

And now, I will waste a few momments of my time on a plea I do not think will happen(Please feel free to prove me wrong, please).

Before the destroid event attempts to make it's triumphant return to Champions can we take a look at the backup devices please? The original "Fix" for them was to put them on a shared CD timer that was very long and not to address their(most of them anyways) astronomical damage.

It is my belief that the backup devices should not share a CD timer, the CD timer should be much much shorter, and the damage should be chopped down by about 75%(or more, it's a good place to start testing IMO). I believe the devices should be more of a fun item and those who wish to farm out 5 of them and then play Pokemon with them("Champions, I choose you!") should be able to do so. Having said that, I also believe they should be marginally stronger than a sidekick device or the Unity versions of The Champions. Having someone like Ironclad show up and roflstomp out 650k damage in the time he's up is, to me, not the direction these things should take. The anniversary should be FUN and not about farming some of the most OP(some of, not the most) devices in the game.

Also, while we're talking about the anniversary, how about working the Neverwinter [Bottomless Waterskin] ( renamed to something like the[Anniversary Foxbat Infinately Regenerating Water Balloon]) into our event? We've been throwing water balloons at each other how much longer than they have and yet they got the perminant device with the 6 second CD timer? This move makes perfect sense to me and I suspect I am not alone in this. Please make it happen. It's not too late.

P.S. While you're looking at Cybermind....his drop rates are ridiculously low. Please look into this as well.

I've really enjoyed having my L60 Sapphire as it's gotten me through many alerts with borked bosses and underpowered teammates. However, bringing it down to L50 would probably be a substantially more balanced improvement.

Yeah, that's ridiculous alright. Lair bosses shouldn't ever go down THAT quickly.

    Holy crap on a cracker.

Well, I guess this does make up for most of the Champions sounding lame compared to our characters.

    EITHER

    Cooldown reduction, damage reduction.

    OR

No longer shares cooldown, damage reduction.

    OR

    Changed to Bind on Account.

    OR

    Any combination of the above.

I'd really like to be able to use these more often as over-glorified Sidekicks.

This whole event should be scaled down, at least in my opinion. Most players unfortunate enough to log in while this is active are going to be squished flat. Even my upper tier level 40s would be hard pressed to survive this shindig.

Thats not really good game design. A better conclusion to the anni event would be a return of the Destroid invasion we had the first year. That was fun, hilarious, and was actually playable by average player, without all purp gear and a level 40. Plus ya know...Grond and Foxbat helping out with the fight was awesome.

If you want to keep this absurdly over the top action, I think the Devs should split this event off into an Alert, and leave the rest of the players frequenting MC with an option other than getting ROLFstomped into the pavement when they decide to visit Champions HQ for their Superteam business.

As far as devices go...They should be level 40. Problem solved.

    What the hell!? OMG

I had no idea they could crit...

Damn, I know I have Ironclad and Sapphire on my account but I only ever use Sapphire...I cannot believe Ironclad hit for that much...on Viks.. 154k on crit.

EDIT: Wait. Did his UR hit three times!?

I would like to be able to move back up devices around my account though instead of it being bound to one or two characters.

Also I would argue that they need to have some sort of damage reduction, but then again they are level 60 which is 20 levels of power above anything in game.

Either drop them down to level 55 (still having some semblance of high power) or keep them at level 60 and have them deal similar damage to what they do in the actual open mission.

I am pretty sure they do less than what they do against normal bosses.

... This was kind of a little suggestion I would like to put forward...

Can we have the Mega D's spread throughout MC?

    In places like:

    - Sakura Park (Downtown)
    - The Ren Cen
    - City Hall Area

Sort of like what is happening in this video

Would make it more interesting and engaging than everyone stuck around Champs HQ. (whilst UNTIL HQ is right across the road and they are just watching us get attacked in their nice, safe office )

You could split them into teams (since 6 Mega D's per event attack)

Defender and Witchcraft + 2 Mega D's in one location

Sapphire and Ironclad + 2 Mega D's in another location

Kinetik and Nighthawk + 2 Mega D's in another location

Would be a welcome change I think and it -may- (just in my own little thinking) reduce lag caused by too many players in one area?

You'd be surprised that in half the situations last year, it needed most of the players in a zone to take out them all, and that's because 1 or 2 of the groups would have enough dps to help out with the 3 when they were done.

These guys need all 6 to be in the same general area in order to complete it.

I guess I'll pop on to test the Team Up along with a few other things I want to try out.

In the middle of a fight, one of the groups of Champions would abandon an end to assist another team. Those same Champions would return after they succeed and get stuck on the way back. Most of the time a side defended by Champions won't even come assist the other ends at all.

    screenshot_2013-09-06-16-52-15.jpg?token_hash=AAHJriSZkFQ748YYEV1_6A4NWSQ84ZQFmRVS_0l6U3epDQ&dl=1

Is there a way to recall the Champions back to their proper end if the end they are stuck on is cleared?

Open mission is of course bugged infinitely spawning Mega Ds at intervals. How do we know if this open mission is going to work and how can we test the Team Up glitch without being able to defeat them and the open mission?

the devices are fine as they are. also last time, my lvl40 power armor tank survived it fine, and she was far from optimized. if they made it harder that was a mistake that needs to be rectified.

From the picture posted by crypticbuxom, I fear that this version is the Mega D's + Friends version which could not be completed due to the sheer overwhelming number of adds that came with the Mega D's.

I really hope when I go to test in a few hrs this is NOT the case, if it is they need to be removed. Mega D's only.

The issue is that, at least when I was doing it on PTS, we had maybe five or six people going at it.

There's a huge difference in the amount of damage six and 10+ people can deal out.

A big thing that some people are forgetting is that a lot of people survived the various attacks last year because the Destroids and the Mega Ds were so far outnumbered, the Destroids were getting destroyed as collateral damage from a ton of different heroes spewing AoE and the Mega Ds literally could not hit everyone that was around them.

Yeah, it took out Vikorin in like 10 seconds. Nerf em. I agree that they should not share a cooldown and have drastically reduced dps. Not only for the sheer wtf value of farming lair bosses, but also for pvp. If they're doing that to Vikorin, I can only imagine what they'd do to therakiel. And if they're doing that to Vikorin and Therakiel, WTF kinda absurdities are we gonna see in pvp when everyone gets their hands on em? It's bad enough that everyone and their mom eruption stacks and can't take damage. Add to that the fact that they're throwing out like 60k over a second or 2 from a *device*?

I don't care what anyone tells me, this is not balanced. Not even slightly. I feel like the reason this isn't more of an issue is because only like 8 people have one, at the moment. They become more available in the current state and this game will officially be broken.
In game, I am @EvilTaco. Happily killing purple gang members since May 2008.

Yup, and totally instagibbing an alert boss in a couple seconds is legit right?

Totally fair that I can have a character without even an energy builder and it would still be doing more damage then yours, right?

    wat.

Go watch that video again and tell me if what I have quoted here makes sense.

There is no way in hell or in anyone with a sense of game balance that that kind of damage is ok. Ever. Even if they have a 30 min CD (which should not be shared) they need to have their DPS cut to around perhaps the values Kaiserin suggested (which on reflection may be a little drastic and make people loose interest in the event, so maybe 50-60% damage nerf instead?)

    Pretty much this.

I've had them used against me in a match where I was duelling two players (both FF) and they couldn't damage me much and so one of them summoned Nighthawk and oneshotted me though:

    - Dodge (my own base D/A)
    - Invuln
    - Laser Knight
    - High Defense
    - Block
    - 11.5k HP

    And I was hit for : DODGE - 10987

If the backup devices don't get hit by the nerf bat I'm so making a level 6 named Captain Cubscout with zero power selections and gonna go into alerts and dance at the bosses, waiting until the last ten seconds to hit my backup and everything dies.

The cooldown nerf was applied because its easier and quicker to do than rebalance their damage. We made a ton of better suggestions before they even applied that nerf yet they wouldn't listen at all.

Lets hope they do something about that this time since they are working on the event again on the PTS.

Let us use them MORE often and nerf their dps.

There are videos of people taking down the Mega D terminators.

Well, in the video Kaiserin posted Ironclad attacks at least three times. The backups last, what, 15 seconds? Even with the slow attack rate of NPC's that's still absolutely absurd.

He is the sole cause of Vikorin's death.

He hits in that short space of time for:

    73637
    58899
    62194

    156171
    157856
    154067

Orange numbers are his Annihilate Damage which he used three times.

Red numbers are his Unleashed Rage Damage, which hit three times.

Added all together he hit for 662824 IN 14 SECONDS

Not sure what you mean here, her FC is a lot faster charging than mine and it easily hits for 90k when she uses it.

Her normal rotation of attack is Detonate, Detonate, Force Blast, Force Cascade for me anyway.

    Back to the OP:

    - I am concerned with the adds that are in this fight...I wonder if they are still bugged or if the Devs will opt to remove them like last time (since they caused too much trouble and added to the lag)

    Any word on this?

Has anyone formed a decent sized team to run this yet?
