Gotta say, I am really impressed with the costume creation skills of some of the COH expatriates. Its pretty obvious that many of you have been working at this sort of thing for a long time.

    Kudos.

Mhm, this is a cool thread, I'm seeing some neat ones.
Two of my main's use fairly unique CoH parts, so they had to go through quite the re-imagining when I translated them over. I'm still satisfied with the results, although they're very different.

Dr. Hault (Formerly Ice/Time controller, now Glacier)
    CoH
    CO

Power Guardian (Formerly Shield/SS Tanker, now Power Armor/Tech FF)
    CoH
CO (Totally new suit, now uses his real name, Dr. Arbalest)

Hahaaa that is the beauty of this game: my Champions crossovers look WAAY better than they ever did on CoX, and with freeform, they can be who they were always SUPPOSED to be in CoX, but couldn't.

I just made a new archer character last night have a costume that's sorta similar to yours. Mine isn't quite as simple, but close. So I though I'd mention this just in case you might find it useful.

In CO with a number of the costume locations, you can select Right or Left only. My archer for example has a ammo pouch on her left arm, and a shoulder pad on the right.

The asymmetrical look of items can be useful depending on the look you're going for. Again you might of noticed that and not found a use for it. But I thought I'd mention it because it's not something you could do in CoH and not everyone notices it.

Even though I have a comparison pic in my sig, it's not up to date, so here's something more recent. CoH (Knight'Hawk) on the left, CO (Night'Hawk) on the right.

In CoH I always had a struggle with Kobolt I love ice powers and elec (recently I was able to take an elec. power incarnate for my iceee Corr.) ones too and I had to make one or the other in CoH...but in CO I could go hybrid and have both on one char

Thanks everyone for posting your shots, it's been really enjoyable looking at the transformations. Initially, the graphics in CO was the only main flaw of the game for me: bit too cartoony and everyone has the same lifeless mannequin face. But looking at the side by side hosts makes me appreciate how good the visuals in CO can be - apart from the faces ;)

You can actually make a lot of changes to the face, if you use the face slider options and there are also a lot of head types available. Finally, whilst some look awful, the mood can also make considerable changes to the facial expression, albeit some make your toon like he is trying to pass a brick.

    Superratz,

If your willing to spend a little bit in the C-Store, you might want to check out the Halloween Creature set. It doesn't specifically come with any rat faces, but one of the vampire heads in that set looks pretty rodent-like to me. It also comes with a few different wolf-man heads ranging from a near-man face to a wolf's head.

Also on a side note; I don't know if this applies to you in particular, but a lot of people who are new to the CO costume creator don't always realize at first glance that each of the main categories, (i.e. Heads, Chest and arms, Gloves, etc) have sub-categories in them.

For example, when you first enter the tailor, your looking at basic "heads and hair". If you click on the bar at the top where it says that, there's a drop down list with things like "hats and head wear", "half helmets", "full helmets", "huge helmets", "beast heads", etc. There is a cat head and a rat head in the basic beast head options; although most of the free beast heads look a bit on the cartoonish side.

    Hope that's helpful.

Damn, I wish I had pics of my main in CoH, but I never took any screens during my time in CoH and would have to wait hours DLing the game just to take them. Tempting, though, I only have till Nov 30 if I want any evidence of what she looked like there to at all*...

*assuming there's still a copy of her somewhere in one of the servers (don't remember if I was in Liberty or Freedom, maybe both)

There will be a copy on the server as long as you didn't delete it. At least until the servers shut down. I got alts that I haven't played for years that are still there.

I do appreciate the fact that my dark/dark defender's power theme transfers quite well to the void archetype though the playstyle is a slight adjustment from support to dps. I'm happy overall that this character at least will live on.

My character here in CO is from Paragon City, but he was never a super hero there. I actually never wrote bio's for my COH characters because I felt like people who did that took their characters way too seriously. In Campions Online that isn't really a problem though, lul.

    His bio:

A former resident of Steel Canyon, Paragon City, Robert Richter's knack for good fortune began very early in life. At age seven, he became a popular child actor after a breakthrough role on "Who's that Hero?," the world's first Super Heroic TV Game Show. At age fourteen, Robert began investing the proceeds in the stock market under the guidance of his Uncle Chuck, three time convicted felon and esteemed Abraham Lincoln impersonator. Uncle Chuck passed along a tip he got in prison, and it was all history from there.

By age 19, Robert was behind the first ever hostile takeover of a Super Powered gear manufacturing company. By age 21, he became CEO of 'Powah!,' the largest supplier of the most readily available, cheaply produced super hero paraphernalia in the world. He was a hit with heroes and villains alike, often using some of Uncle Chuck's connections to smuggle certain things over to the other side at a nice premium.

One day though, everything changed. For the first time in history, the Paragon City government conducted a full scale audit of 'Powah!' Having discovered that Mr. Richter failed to pay taxes for 8 consecutive years, they promptly shut down his corporation and even took away his citizenship.

But he wouldn't be Robert Richter without a sudden stroke of good fortune, and Uncle Chuck arranged his transport to Millennium City. Here, Robert discovered an entire world that was ripe for the picking- Not only did the government subsidize start up Super Hero ventures (which would come in handy, as all of Robert's assets and livelihood had been seized,) they also offered complete tax exemption for all Super Heroic entities!

With the greatest tax break he'd ever seen on the horizon, Robert Richter hired an overpriced designer to make him a costume, threw caution to the wind and became... The Opportunist!

    http://joybuzzer.deviantart.com/gallery/?catpath=scraps#/d5g47tp

Same character, though I've gotten rid of ties to Paragon City. Not because I don't love CoH, but making the change over, I don't care as much for the idea of saying Paragon City is in the same world as Millennium City.

Also, changed the name, because BrandX was more of a X-Men Fanfiction inspired name (but there were other reasons for the name use), as the character was an OC I created long before MMOs, with the idea of a mutant/X-Man who actually fought crime, much like Spider-Man.

So basically a bit of a retcon to her has been done, but it's a retcon I'm enjoying. Also, finally have the Dodgey/Regeny feel to her I couldn't pull off in CoH (but was hoping to one day).

All told I have something like close to forty alts across three or so servers on CoH, porting them all over... I don't think so. I doubt I could port my RP mains over straight, they're just too tied to their world. Still, I wanted to give some other failed concepts a try, and this was my latest attempt:

    CoX version, DeathWishUponAStar: http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c104/SpyralPegacyon/deathwishfinal.jpg

    CO version, Foxfire: http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c104/SpyralPegacyon/foxfire2.jpg

I never quite got her original concept of a fairy cowboy cop to work in Paragon City. I soured on Emp/DP early, went through a bunch of revisions, and I may try her out as DP/MC/Sorcery on the Beta before the servers go dark. Here, she's taken off as my main. Her redesign is fantastic - the gi and bustier make a nice frilly top - and Freeform has given her the combo of pistols, punches, and vaguely glittery fairy magic that I always wanted. And she can hold her own in a fight much better than a DP blaster could. >_>; Like Joybuzzer, its a retcon I'm enjoying very much.

If you're gold or have a freeform slot, you can easily do a pet build. There are tons of pets in CO and it's more than possible to have a character that pretty handily simulates a mastermind.

see thats another wierd thing.... im just clicking on your link, which brings it to that norton warning.... i know that its stabbytabby. i didnt even notice that lunaimmortal thing until you just said. ... i do notice that at the top of the warning page at norton it just says 'i207.photobucket.com without any other account or pic location, so im wondering if norton is just worried about the 'i207' is what is making them worry, maybe your account and this lunaimmortal are in the same photobucket grouping.

edit: i think thats the case because when i first click your page it says
' you are trying to acess...http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb53/stabby_tabby/COH/screenshot_2006-12-04-00-12-30.jpg this is a known malicious site etc etc etc'

like i said i think its just because of the i207.photobucket.com part... which means sadly norton wont let me see your screenshots. norton is just lumping all of the links that start with that preface together... which they shouldnt be.

Welp, guess it's my turn for show and tell ...

Since I can't replicate my main character in CO, I've gone with two of my other characters.

First is Ben Nevis, my Scottish Earth Tank:

    CoH
    CO

Granted, his costume isn't all that fancy. Thank goodness for male skirts and plaid patterns!

The other character, Serulean, is still a bit of a WIP in CO. I need to either purchase the Arabian Nights pack for the sash or go gold. I haven't yet decided upon her AT.

Granted, I have not been an active member in CoX for a long time, I still have many fond memories of my time there and many 50's. After downloading the CoX client again (gee, they hid the download links / options from just about everywhere!) I grabbed some screen caps of some of my favourite characters:

Killiandros - City of Heroes: The only character that I really tried to bring across when I left CoX - he's been here since the beginning and has gone through a few iterations. (Although I still miss the single shoulder cape and aura effects).

    Killiandros - Champions

Kilvana - City of Heroes: One of my first characters, an illusion/kinetics controller who I had SO much fan with over the years (less so after you could only have one Phantasm out at a time) and was great solo or in a group.

    Kilvana (1) - Champions
    Kilvana (2) - Champions

Killiah - City of Heroes: My first experiences with a blaster involved a lot of XP debt but I re-rolled a lovely little fire/energy glass cannon that had great spike damage for PvE / PvP and was pretty survivable.

    Killiah - Champions

With the exception of Killiandros, I wasn't trying to exactly recreate the same costume because CO has its own fantastic combinations that are worth exploring.

Also, shameless plug  but I've had fun creating almost ~200 costumes in CO over the years I've been here (link in sig) - and I hope some of those costumes go towards highlighting the amazing things you can do with CO's costume creator for our friends joining us from CoX.

Champions Online has the best character creator - check out some of my creations in Killi's Consolidated Costume List !

Reviving this thread for myself and others.

These were my three main heroes (alas, my villains were too EVIL for this game's content, so they'll be merely be Nemeses). I intend to eventually rebuild my heroic roster over time.

    So, without further ado....

Lady Tsukira: A highly skilled ninja warrior that fights with twin blades.
    LadyTsukira.jpg

Destructeon: Super-invulnerable, cosmic hero, he's the archetypal Superman pastiche.
    Destructeon.jpg

Dreadstorm: Dark, brooding vigilante with the powers to control weather.

    Some nice adaptations here!

Unfortunately I decided pre-downloading CO that I wasn't going to do this. My CoX guys were their own "universe", several of them interconnected in various ways. I decided to keep them "intact" and just start another universe.

I've remade my main tanker from COH (Kreetch) in Champions Online. The results:

Not too happy with the shiny texture, I will probably fiddle with this concept a bit more.

Cyberman 8 I just last night did some proportion slider tweaking to get him closer to his COH counterpart. I'm really rather pleased with the results.
