Mega-Destroid Invasion Starts Thursday

The Mega-Destroids will attack Millennium City starting Thursday morning! If maintenance finishes quickly, it'll begin at 9 AM, and will run every hour -- shortly after the hour -- thereafter.

    Yes yes we all want to save the city, but more imporantly is the epic lootz that the Mega D's drop. As for those who may think we'll ignore the event a little after it started, I highly doubt we'll be able to ignore the Mega D's this time around.

    Personally not that big a fan of summon devices but the legacy crafted travel power devices is more to my likings. Nevertheless, they will still be nice collectibles.

    Hm this should be fun.. just got my first lvl 40 yesterday.. but dang.. lvl 60.. i hope i can survive with a squishie. :biggrin:

    From my (very limited) time on PTS testing, that's it. Other than level 40 greens and UNTIL tokens and such.

    And yes, the Summon Champion items were dropping when I was testing. Very cool to get your very own Level 60 Champion for 15 seconds (30 minute cooldown). Amazing how much damage they can do during that time.

    Despite this seeming working on PTS, I'M HAVING THE SAME INSTANT CRASHING TO DESKTOP ISSUES AS BEFORE.

    Crashing here too, reducing graphics did not work. I finished 4th in scores, but because of the constant crashes near the end, didnt get any reward.

    There's a major problem with energy in this, because of the massive levels no one can pull in any kind of energy.

    When you're facing characters way stronger than you, you don't get as much energy back from your energy builder. I'm at level 35 with some hefty Recovery and I was pulling in one energy per shot.

    This seriously needs to be fixed.

    Crashed to desktop on the 6th mega D (closest to the river) on two attempts. These setbacks meant no rewards.

    This very same thing happened on PTS with this event, but it was fixed there.

    For me it seemed the server was lagging a lot too, my fps was ok, but powers reacted very slow when I tried using them.

    I can't even get the client to do its thing, it just says Loading please wait and if it gets past it it won't launch the game.

    Not seeing any problems at level 40. Seeing my usual energy gain.

    And for those crashing, I at least got to play on FULL LOW options. Looks rather poor compared to normal, but at least I can play.

    Same crash/no reward as others, even with shadows turned off. Thanks for getting on this Trailturtle. Hope you can find a fix soon.

    I decided to run my squishiest healer AT on this, namely my Radiant and WOW...I think AT's must have gotten a buff! Either my playing skills got better or I've underestimated the power of my chars..but damn! I only died once! And that was when I went RIGHT next to it and hugged its leg during D Wave xP.

    So I am clapping franticaly!I really like this event I HOPE it stays up for a while!

    And I got timed Witchcraft O_o:eek:

    I was really hoping for a Sapphire...:(

    Got close to the Champions HQ... crashed

    Started the game again, set for half resolution.. crash again...

    Restarted again... half res, shadows off... started the fight... 2nd MegaD, crashed again... UGH!!!!!

    I'm so sad now... :frown:

    Second run, two crashes, by load time the last of 6 destroids had fallen and even though I was in the leaderboard, no reward to collect. Hopefully this can be rectified quick smart.

    I crashed on Live but never did on any of the PTS test runs. I lost out on resource rewards when they finished two megas because it sent me to a different zone when I logged back in, I jumped back to original zone and still got full credit for finishing though.

    At the very lowest video settings I got through it without crashes, but everything was very laggy.

    How to get around the crashes: (if you're used to playing CO at max)

    1) Make sure your graphic drivers are fully updated, AND using the newest betas. That's version 306.23 on NVidia's side of things.

    2) Turn OFF Shadows, Reflection Quality, and Lens Flares.

    3) Under Detail (graphic options), turn your sliders (World Texture Quality, Character Texture Quality, etc) to half.

    4) Play crash free. For me, everything else is still on max, short of AA which I have off.


    To help with low FPS issues:

    1) HUD - Other Players - Show Other Player Name set to NEVER.

    2) HUD - Show X Damage Floaters - turn ALL to OFF except for your own (to make sure you're still hitting the target).

    3) Make sure your inventory bags are all closed, and your quest log is closed up.

    Cryptic's text takes a LOT of FPS to process for some reason.

    I really like the event. I hope plenty stick around to fight these guys. They take a while to bring down. I did get a Limited Sapphire on my second run. :cool:

    By the way they are Bind on Equip. Hope I can get one of those non-limited ones during the event. :biggrin:

    All the Becomes that drop in this event have the little stopwatch logo like the limited version of Becomes from other events but they do not say limited and do not list a time limit in their description. Logo error or do they have an unlisted time limit?

    I call it limited because it says 3 charges. Some are getting the unlimited Backup devices. Saw a Kinetik unlimited for 1500G in the AH.

    And a second time, crashed just before victory, logged back in, no reward even though I was on the list. :frown:

    Edit: Anyhow, looking forward to the fix. And nice to see Robobo in-game again.
