Well after a week of not being able to play the game, reported, ticket sent, and no reply to the thread dedicated to said issues or the ticket sent in - it seems Cryptic/PWE has no need for me to spend any more money on this game.

The company clearly is not concerned about customer service, not concerned about responding to problems preventing a paying customer from playing - and not concerned about the fact that they are sending the message to simply not bother trying to play anymore - or pay anymore either.

And to think I was going to waste a bunch of time making some long winded posts with suggestions and ideas for ways to improve things, based on 20+ years of various types of gaming and running games and making up our own rules to balance things.

The company is obviously not looking for new players anymore, a fact I will be sure to relate to all the many thousands of players in DDO land or wherever else I happen to play.

It is sad, the game has all sorts of potential and some of it is very fun, too bad it is being wasted and no effort at all being made for any endgame or to keep people around in general.

Good luck.

Damn thats grim. Seen your toons all FF so ur paying customer. Most likely youve paid up for this month so yeah I would say Cryptic has at least stolen a weeks worth of monies from you for not fixing this fast.

    Bad show Cryptic.

Didnt always agree with you Riggs..Heck I never agreed with you but still sad to see a worthy foe go. Hope to get the chance to gank you in DCUO \o/

Sorry to see it come to this bro. If it provides any comfort, know that I've talked to 6 or 7 in the same pickle participating in similar conclusions.

    It's Cryptic's loss.

Doesnt matter if we like any player or not ( I dont like him :/ ) what matters is the issue of a person not getting what they paid for and Cryptic should be shamed for treating him so badly.

Dunno Booster Gold sorta fits ego the size of a barn quick to anger but a good guy ive seen Riggs being nice to people in ren cen after Dubsy ima probably the person who argued with him the most.

He thinks ima nob I think hes a nob and that fine by me . But I think we all should make our voices heard in helping Riggs and the other people this has happened to get what they paid for or at least a refund.

Until he comes back and says otherwise I think he would do the same for us. Still dont like him mind :/

Especially if a player just rants and don't even tell us why he is unable to play. Its often easy
to just rant at a game company while in reality your ISP has a problem or you use some
sucky firewall like Zonealarm or your Drivers are 5 years old .. or whatever else.

But hey .. at least he wrote that all in ONE post .. and not in 10+

I had a pretty serious problem this past week, I sent a ticket in through the PWE support site on Saturday, and less than 24 hours later on a Sunday I got a human response that solved my issue.

There's nothing wrong with their support system, maybe you forget to click submit or accidentally closed your own ticket by clicking the solved checkbox. Or did you not even send a ticket? Posting on forums almost never gets a problem solved in any game.

in THIS forum .. who knows where he posted it, and to whom the ticket went then

No offense, and I am very glad that your problem was resolved in a timely fashion, but that doesn't mean that there is nothing wrong with their support system. Even a stopped clock tells the correct time twice a day.

For what it's worth, Riggs, I'm sorry you were on the end of some bad stuff. I wish you luck in your future endeavors, and hope that you can maintain some maturity and dignity and not be as petty as you seem to suggest you're going to be (that is to say - I hope it's just angry venting and not a mission statement; That'd be a sad thing to see anyone go out on, and having that kind of emotional baggage is never healthy. Letting go doesn't have to mean forgiving or forgetting, after all).

    C'est la vie, though.

Except you can't compare it to a clock. About the only thing that could go wrong with a support ticket system (that you can blame them for) causing extended periods of being "ignored" would be a ticket jam due to lack of staff. The fact that a ticket can be submitted and answered in less than 24 hours means no such jam exists, and the fact that they have people working on Sundays means their ticket system is going above and beyond the standards set by other games.

It is of course always possible they are selectively ignoring certain tickets from certain people.

The fact that one ticked didn't get jammed doesn't mean that others are not. One example of a system working does not indicate that it always works. One example of a response within 24 hours doesn't prove anything other than the system worked once.

In addition, a ticket jam is not the only thing that can go wrong with a support ticket system. Inaccurate responses (perhaps due to poor training of support staff ?), irrelevant responses (If one posts a ticket regarding a problem with 'X' and gets a response to 'Y' for example), or incomprehensible responses are all potential problems with a ticket system derived from something under the company's control...staff training.

Thanks for the nice words (from some).

However I barely know who Booster Gold is, I made an electric character and the blue just happened to contrast nicely with the mandatory yellow. If he looks like someone else it was coincidence.

The thread for anyone curious was in the Super News Network about Account guard. I had an old email that got completely shut down a while back when Microsoft was having problems with someone saying they could hack any account - I am guessing it is related because it was right in the same week pretty much. So email completely gone, sent a ticket in to Hotmail to try and get it back and never even got a response. (Seems familiar somehow) - I didnt think to update CO with my new email, Account Guard comes around - bam no more access. Cant access old email, cant get into CO as a result.

Cant change the email on the site, tried multiple times on multiple days and it never actually changes. Posted in the thread saying "Post here if you have any issues" and after my Post Trailturtle then posted "Well it looks like everything is working now so great". Sent a ticket in and got the automated reply saying I would get a response within 3-4 business days - and now 5 business days later, 1 week, still zip. Site wont even allow me to send a PM without being friends with him, so it is dead end after dead end.

Some people have taken issue with how I post, and yeah I can get fired up about some things. I dont have a lot of good will when people post personal attacks without really dealing with what was posted say, and I have better things to do than reply to people like Dubsy that just wave personal attacks around like a sprinkler.

But I also only was posting because I really liked a lot of the game, and wanted to see it improve. CO has a lot of great elements, and could have been much bigger than it is.

Getting a new character slot for everyone that hit 40 was way too addictive for an alt-o-holic, since I had over a dozen characters or so and only 4 or so left to finish leveling up (And had something like 30 characters in DDO) - so in the end it is probably a good thing CO doesnt want my money anymore so I can get back to doing RL stuff.

It was fun while it lasted (mostly). Good luck.

I had a problem with Account Guard and email activation myself. It only lasted a couple days, and I was able to change to another email account.

I have gotten a couple new people to join the game, and everything worked alright for them. Still, there are plenty of players that got messed up during the changes, with no help or responses from tickets.

    :(

From ticket submitted 2 weeks ago - finally got a reply after sending my own reply pointing out their 3-4 days response time was up to 7 business days and counting.

"Your recent incident update was from an email address not associated with the incident. In an effort to maintain the security of information, we cannot update the incident using this email address. If you are the incident owner and your email address has changed, or you want to be able to update the incident using this email account, please update your contact information using the following link, then resubmit your update."

    Hahahahahahaha.

So they wont do anything because my listed email is wrong - so I should just go and update my email and resubmit - boom problem solved.

Reading comprehension seems to be missing from customer service training at PWE - since being unable to update my email is the reason I had to submit a ticket in the first place.

    Awesome.

    What number?

The last time I looked a few months ago, spent an hour and found all of zero phone numbers - and multiple posts all complaining about the utter lack of a customer service number.

I just looked again and the top listing was an old post again complaining from a different PWE game- and a PWE rep telling that person there is NO customer service number, only a billing contact that will appear on your receipt(which would probably be sent to the old, inactive email) - and that rep also refused to even list a phone number.

The company clearly does not want to put any effort into customers beyond taking their money.

Try this to see if it helps. Supposedly a way to change your email address if you've linked your accounts with PWE already. That gives you a link to change the email address tied to your account, and hope that will help then.

Thanks, but that is the page/link I have been attempting from two weeks ago.

Doesnt matter anymore - got a second canned response from 'Customer Service' (thats a laugh) that was identical to the first one, saying the exact same thing - to go to that link that doesnt work, and change my email so then they can help me.

I guess whoever is dealing with it doesnt consider it enough of an issue to bother replying to on the forums, despite there being a thread dedicated to Account Guard (that is not being looked at). I am just posting at this point to be a gadfly - the company is never getting another dollar from me ever again.

    The problem is systemic.

This isn't just Riggsmax going through the ringer.

The entirety of PWE not "fixing" anything started when Free to Play came.. instead of fixing ANYTHING they just keep throwing more broken stuff at you that you can buy.

It makes them money which is all they care about.. I've not seen many professional reviewers who call the game "clean" or give it high points for being "bug-free"

I'm really confused why Cryptic/PWE gets the brunt of the insults and the anger because the OP's email account was closed or whatever.

Yes it was a bummer of a situation and a hassle, but it really wasn't Cryptic/PWE's fault that I can see. All they did was add a layer of security and due to the OP not changing his bad email address (when he knew it was bad by his own admission) the whole snafu happened.

As for the comment about PWE not "fixing" things when FTP came, well...that was under Atari and not PWE. I personally have a much different experience and many things have been created of fixed over time that I have seen. I wouldn't call the game "broken" by any stretch since I log in, play for hours doing whatever I want and have no problems whatsoever.

The comments and passive-aggressive insults seem a tad unfair IMO.

and when the game is sold off again it will be ok to blame PWE but not the current owner..

no. PWE has many systemic problems with their BUSINESS MODEL (including how payments are applied to accounts etc) that should be addressed before pushing this model on the consumer. The PTS C-Store being a very prime example of this.

You can call it unfair because it's not their fault.. but it IS their fault. They bought it broken and they continue to break it further instead of fixing it.

No - it is really because when I did bother replying to your insults and made up issues it was to call you on your lack of logic or posting just for the sake of your own ego (which you also did in Zone chat as well).

You like insulting people, you dont like being called out on it.

it makes you sad to see someone posting about technical issues preventing one or more people from playing the game - and resulting in a loss of income to the company as a result - which over time will lead to less staff, less resources, and less quality?

Congrats on being shortsighted and petty then. Really a model of the community - maybe the two of you could get together and welcome new players to the game - for all of the 2 weeks they last before they decide to go elsewhere because of the warm 'welcome' provided.

Riggs, your "technical issue" is your own fault. You knew this change was coming; you knew the email address provided here was bad; it was your decision not to update your data when advised to do so.

This is not a problem with the system - this is a PEBKAC issue.

it makes you sad to see someone posting about technical issues preventing one or more people from playing the game - and resulting in a loss of income to the company as a result - which over time will lead to less staff, less resources, and less quality?

Congrats on being shortsighted and petty then. Really a model of the community - maybe the two of you could get together and welcome new players to the game - for all of the 2 weeks they last before they decide to go elsewhere because of the warm 'welcome' provided.

You didn't even posted WHAT you problem is, so nobody here can help you.

All i see is crying and moaning without really wanting help .. and every week a new refresh
off the same, even when you said you leave.

Also you never ever listend to tips from others .. i still remember your 5 or more posts
one in a row .. since you just were not able to use the edit button even when masses of
people told you to use it.

No - it is really because when I did bother replying to your insults and made up issues it was to call you on your lack of logic or posting just for the sake of your own ego (which you also did in Zone chat as well).

You like insulting people, you dont like being called out on it.

    Have a nice day.

Ah, I see he has revised history in his own mind. Shame that didn't work for him when he tried to mentally alter his email address in the past to a valid one.

Riggs, I might be able to help if you can provide me (or CS) with more information -- specifically, with some information to prove your identity. While you may not be able to access your old email, if you've charged in the past, you may be able to prove that you're the account owner if you can rattle off credit card numbers, security info, etc.

I'd recommend replying to the ticket and very clearly stating that you don't have access to the registered email, and you'd like to prove your identity through alternate methods.

    Hey Gang,

As you all know, I've been splitting time between Champs and Neverwinter for some time now.

It's been pretty hard on me, and on both the CO and NW Communities. As Neverwinter's launch grows increasingly close, it's become time that I focus more of my energies there.

    Enter the TrailTurtle...

A dedicated CM with a passion for all kinds of geekery (including comics), who has been helping me out with Champions for some time. He's been learning the ropes, getting to know the dev team, and slowly but surely learning the ins and outs of the Champions Community.

He seemed like a good fit for you all, so when we asked him if he would be interested in taking Champions on to his plate, he got super excited!

So, I'll be focusing more of my time on Neverwinter, and helping out with a small PWE game called Ether Saga Online in any spare time I have. TrailTurtle will be taking over as your new CM.

As always, I'll be near by should he, or you, ever need any help.

    Thanks,

    Stormshade

Oh man, poor Trailturtle. ;_; I wouldn't wish that on anyone!

(P.S.: Sorry that we're all terrible people.)

(DISCLAIMER: This post is entirely facetious.)

I noticed it already in the maintainance thread, but i was not sure if he maybe now only
is a STO CM that post once a week a post about server downtime for us. And i'm really
to desillusioned to expect anything else unless i really see again some communication.

So thats simply why i don't post any grats or welcome post or whatever.

And Stormshade .. "split" between NWN and CO ? If split means 50 / 50 he must maybe
just work 1-2 hours per month .. or even less

TrailTurtle, welcome. As a show of your sincerity in wanting to help the CO community, please do not help riggs in any way.

Neither you or trailturtle show up in the dev digest. Darthpanda16 doesn't either. You guys should get that fixed.

I mean, it's not like there are a ton of CO employees left. How hard is it to give the extremely short list to the web team and get them onto the dev digest?

Cause they arnt Devs they have nothing to do with the development of any of the actual games.

And to get back on topic that SS so kindly knocked us off. People are having a good old laugh at Riggs being locked out of his account. This is plain wrong. I am no friend of the Uber Ego Noob BUT the fact that this new login system has blocked a paying customer from accessing the game is just not on its not something we should be having a party about.

And yes he should have been more up to date to what email he actually uses and stuff but still CS should still be able to fix this for him. He has actually contacted them and all he gets is canned answers.

Like I said before Riggsmax is our very own Booster Gold and the game would be a little less"interesting" without the egomaniac .
