There was one that still remained, in the far off mountains to the north. The young knight made his trek to the mountain, and challenged the beast, in hopes of saving his beloved.
The battle was hard fought, but the knight was victorious, and the beast was slain. Collecting his prize, he trekked back to the kingdom, only to learn he was too late. His beloved had passed while he was gone. In furious rage, he crushed the vial of Gryphon blood in his hands, the glass shards cutting his skin. That night, as he pleaded for forgiveness in slaying the poor beast, he heard a voice. 'The last guardian of heaven fell to your blade. A new guardian must arise. This will be your penance!" The young knight's cut hand began to ache. The pain spread quickly through his body. The violent transmogrification complete, he was now something new. The last guardian of the skies, half man half gryphon, sworn to carry out his duties, untouched by time, until his life is taken from him. A thousand years later, he continues to carry out his penance, aiding the rise of superheroes in their quest to stop evil. His true name lost to the ages, he is now just known as The Gryphon Man."

"Jason Parks was considered an angel by his parents, both figuratively and literally. Jason was a mutant born with lush, beautiful wings. That is, until his family met Dr. Franklin Strauger. Dr. Strauger was a demented geneticist, who found sadistic glee in doing Frankenstein like operations on mutants. While he fronts as a gentle doctor, seeking to understand, and aid, the recent rise in human mutations, behind the scenes he was conducting his own nefarious research.
Seeing the potential in experimenting on the young, winged mutant, Dr. Strauger set in motion a plan that caused Jason to become exposed to a toxic gas. While the gas held no long term affects, the immediate ones resembled that of a deadly virus, and placed Jason in a temporary coma. Dr. Stauger then confronted the family, exclaiming he could cure the boy. Tricking the Parks into letting him take Jason back to his facility, Strauger began his heinous work. Surgically removing his wings from his back, and moving them to his forearms. He began injecting a combination of DNA from other mutants he experimented on, and a mutation accelerant, into Jason. The result was Jason transforming into a horrible human/vulture hybrid.
Strauger then returned to the family, stating he had cured the boy, but the after affects of the "virus" had altered his mutation. Horrified, the Parks rejected the twisted monster that was once their son. With a fiendish glee, Strauger started heading back to his facility with the boy. However, Jason managed to escape the brutal doctor's clutches. His wings, though tattered and deformed, could still grant him flight. And the enhanced healing factor from the Mutant DNA Cocktail caused Strauger's sedatives to wear off much sooner than expected.
Jason broke free from Dr. Strauger. Attempting to defend himself, Jason slashed at Strauger with his talon like claws, and bit off one of Strauger's hands. Before he realized what he was doing, Jason ate the hand, and gained a taste for human flesh. In an almost feral state, he attacked Strauger again, but the mad doctor managed to escape. Jason, now coming down from his feral rage, was horrified at his new cannibalistic desire, and ran off into the woods. He lived alone, feeding off dead animals, like the carrion bird he now resembles. His mind not quite right anymore, he was found, and easily tricked, by a man named Elijah Scaggs. Elijah owned a traveling "Freakshow" and wanted this Jason to be a part of it.
Labeled "The Hideous Vulture Boy", Jason became a the newest sensation of the Freakshow. Elijah kept him fed with fresh meat every day. What Jason didn't know was the meat was ground up human meat. The Freakshow was also a front for Elijah's criminal endeavors, and those who crossed him would be killed and fed to the "Vulture Boy". What Elijah didn't realize was feeding Jason human meat only cause his feral side to grow. Once again, the feral Jason broke free of his confines and devoured Elijah.
After eating Elijah, his feral rage subsided. That's when he learned of Elijah's criminal empire, consisting of drug running, human trafficking, and murder. Jason also learned that feeding on someone wicked satiated his new feral nature and cannibalistic desire. From that moment on, he decided to be Carrion, feeding on the waste of human society."
Never made a back story for him, just thought it would be a funny character to make. A giant eagle, who's also a judge, and beats bad guys with his giant gavel!
I wanted him to have one of those silly judge wigs, but no hairstyle matches that in the game.
With the unfortunate passing of Kevin Conroy, I'm posting my Batman inspired character, Nocturno, as tribute. R.I.P. Kevin, the on true Batman...
Bio:
"Marcos Reyes was the mysterious, bat themed supervillain, Nocturno! He worked with several criminal organizations, including the Cartel. He was very careful to keep his identity secret, he couldn't let his brother know of his criminal activities. However, one job went south and Marcos found himself in a bad situation. A couple of new superheroes joined the police in attempting to bring down Nocturno. In his desperate attempts to escape, he caused a severe car accident. There were only two fatalities in the accident, unfortunately those two were Marcos' brother and his brother's wife. They're young son, Carter, was in the car as well, but he miraculously survived. The guilt Marcos felt made him give up being Nocturno. He adopted Carter and raised him like his son.
Carter showed a similar talent for tinkering and gadgetry that Marcos had. Marcos encouraged this, using his ill-gotten money to get Carter the best education possible. Carter came home from college, to visit his uncle. Marcos wasn't home when Carter arrived, so Carter explored the house, reliving he childhood memories. Then he came to "The Door". This is what Carter always called it. It was always locked and Marcos forbade him to ever go inside. Carter's curiosity got the better of him, and he picked the lock and entered. He was confused, as the room just looked like an old office. The desk, however, caught his eye. Some old, but very impressive, gadgets were on it. Carter took them outside to test them. As he did, a car drove past. What Carter didn't know was that these gadgets were part of the Nocturno arsenal. The car that drove by had members of the Cartel, who recognized the gadgets, and immediately kidnapped Carter.
Nocturno had been paid by the cartel to pull off a big job, but he never delivered. That same job is what lead to the death of Carter's parents. The Cartel figured there must be some connection with the kid and Nocturno, so they were using him as bait. Marcos, finding the ransom note left behind, was forced to don the Nocturno outfit one last time to save his nephew. Nocturno saved Carter, yelling for him to flee, while Nocturno stayed to deal with the Cartel members. Marcos detonated a bomb, destroying the building and killing himself. When Carter got back to Marcos' house, he found a note revealing the truth about who Marcos really was. That's when Carter found the secret entrance to Marcos' workshop, and his array of gadgets and Nocturno costumes.
Carter never knew his uncle as a villain, it was hard for him to believe he could commit such crimes. But Carter knew Marcos died a hero, and he didn't want his uncle's name to be associated with villainy anymore. So, using the tech he found, and combining it with his own skills at tinkering, Carter built a new Nocturno suit. He now works to clear his uncle's name, so when people see Nocturno, they think Hero!"

However, DTRG is actually a front company for ARGENT. When he learned his tech was being used for evil, he threatened to go to the authorities. In response, ARGENT agents shot him and threw his body in the river. He was found by a passerby, and rushed to the hospital. Barely surviving, he found he was now paralyzed from the waist down. Furious, Dr. Mendo built himself a combat ready, mobility car he dubbed "H.O.V.E.R." He is testing it's combat capabilities on the rising crime in Millennium City. He hopes to hone, and improve, it's combat functions enough to take on ARGENT, and bring them down once and for all."
